My ex-husband started a number of projects on this house 10 years ago when we bought it including removing most of the trim on the main level of the house, attempting to build a new door, and attempting to install new pre-hung doors. When we split the projects were left incomplete. The bathroom door wouldn't even stay closed and you could see between the wall and the door frame since there was no trim. My current husband and I are now in the process of preparing our home to put on the market so that we can find a larger house that can better fit our growing family?s needs. My realtor directed me to his drywall guy, who put me in contact with another carpenter who had something else come up. He was able to put me in contact with Dave. Dave and Tom removed the old trim and hollow-core flat doors and fixed the one door that was already installed so that it would actually close. We are now finally able to use that bathroom without fear of the door unexpectedly being opened by the cat or dog. They installed new trim throughout which really helped the house look more consistent - my ex had used a number of different configurations for door trim and baseboards throughout his unfinished projects. The basement hadn't had any trim at all before this. In addition to the trim and doors they built a new mantle for our bedroom fireplace, enclosed a opening in the bathroom wall where there was a pipe sticking out, and built a cabinet to allow access to the gas shutoff. They even managed to make the old basement windows that I always try to hide look decent enough that they really don't need to be covered up anymore. In addition to those projects that I hired them to complete, they also fixed my patio door so that it closes smoothly and without lifting up on it. All of the new doors and trim were painted for a nice and consistent look that I would not have been able to achieve doing myself. I was able to ask them for their opinion on some ideas and get what I felt to be honest and helpful advice in return. Once the job was technically done, they came back to touch up a minor ding that one of the doors received in transit before installation and Tom was kind enough to help me swap out door handle hardware that I had incorrectly installed myself. They also went out of their way to help me return some doors that didn't really fit what we were looking to accomplish, pick up the new doors, and even tracked down what would have had to be a special order for an 18" door for a closet. I am very happy with the results and would be happy to have Aspire do work for us again. Thank you Dave and Tom for all of your hard work.
