Aspen Garage called back within 15 minutes and happened to have an opening the same day. Mike showed up and fixed it within 5 minutes. It was user error so he showed me what I did wrong. Since the visit was so quick, Mike did not charge me which was super nice. Would absolutely use Mike and Aspen Garage again.

My garage door was initially having issues raising and lowering. Thinking just a tuneup was needed, I took advantage of a $45 deal Aspen had going on for a tuneup. I later realized the spring had snapped. The technician performed the tuneup and replaced the spring, and informed me at the end that the gear connecting the garage door opener to the chain to the door itself was bent. He said it probably wasn't immediately necessary to fix it, but when I tried to open the door, the chain snapped off the gear and the garage door slammed shut. Because he did not have the replacement part with him, he said he would come back the next day to replace it, which he did. The door then worked for a while, but eventually we had another issue where the cable connecting the bottom of the door to the bar uncoiled from the drum and the door became stuck. I called Aspen again and they were able to come out later that day. The problem ended up being the torsion spring not being wound enough during the first repair (we've got a larger than standard garage door), which caused the cable to unspool gradually as the door was opened and closed. They fixed the spring at no charge since it hadn't been wound properly during the initial repair, which was much appreciated. While it took a bit to get the garage door fully fixed, I really appreciated Aspen's responsiveness and availability. They were available same day when we needed them, and while there were roadblocks along the way, I believe they were mostly due to bad luck and a relative lack of experience of the first technician, who I learned from the technician that came out to rewind the spring had just recently started working for Aspen.

I've used Aspen twice -- once for an Angie's List special garage door tune-up, and then later for replacing the closer. I used Aspen to replace the closer based on a positive experience with the tune-up. Our door and closer were making a lot of noise. I tried to lubricate the door to eliminate the noise, but it didn't have much of an impact. Aspen inspected it and told me that while immediate replacement wasn't necessary, there was an internal closer gear wearing out that was making the noise. They advised eventual replacement based on the age of the closer and the cost of the parts and labor. They also took a shot at lubricating the door tracks and closer. I appreciated the honest assessment and decided to delay replacing the closure. Within a year, the gear was totally stripped and we needed to replace the door. Rather than automatically replacing with a comparable model, I asked them to take into consideration that within the next couple of years we would be upgrading to heavier door. The recommended a belt drive unit that came with smart home features. It was only about $100 than the comparable relatively low-tech chain drive unit. I've always taken these closures for granted. I thought they were all the same. But this Lift Master belt drive unit is super quiet, and we love the alerts that we get from the unit. It's also great that we can operate it from a smart phone.

I called the company. They cannot confirm time to come. I have to wait for the whole day at my house. They said only on that morning, they will call me to let me know if the service person would come in the morning 4-hour window or the afternoon 4-hour window. So I have to take time off from my work for the whole day to wait for the service person to show up. This is just no worth it. I feel cheat on my money to buy such service.

They were prompt, and fixed the problem. They also gave us some tips on maintenance we could do ourselves. Very happy with their service. Will certainly use again.

Summary: Go with Mike. Local. Owner and he does what he says he will do. Mike answered in the evening and was able to help me look at the door and provide his opinion and estimate of what needed to be done. He answered my questions and explained why he was suggesting changing the springs to standard types. He was out the next day, texted to let me know the exact time. I had requested he also replace the one of the struts (it was bent from being backed into...don't ask) and gave him the dimensions so he could have it on the truck at the same time. He gave me an updated cost and I agreed. He got to work and although he was having trouble putting the strut on (the panel was bent) I provided additional leverage and he was able to make it work. I found him approachable, professional and flexible. I asked him who owned the company and he said he did and that he likes to go out and do some of the jobs himself. With so many people advertising and so many options it's great to find someone who you can trust and you know is a local company. He also lubricated the other door for free and explained how could do it once a year myself. Excellent job!

Not only did they lubricate door and perform routine maintenance but also cleaned light socket so that light comes on when door opens and closes.

Garage door worked well and was nice and quiet with the lubercation. Just one day last week the garage door hung a foot off the ground and did not close right away. Will be keeping watch. If it happens again I may need to call them back.

Mike showed up on time and performed the tune-up. During the tune-up I asked about my door opener and ended up ordering a new one from Aspen. He showed up the following week and installed an new garage door opener and I'm happy as a clam.

I haven't redeemed the deal I bought, nor have I been contacted by this company to schedule a date to complete service, but I'm being notified by Angie's list that they say they completed service. Not true. I believe I have until April to redeem. I rated it an "C" because I had to choose a rating, and am giving the benefit of the doubt that they made a mistake. I will update this review once I've received the service I paid for.

It went great - he arrived on time, he was fast and efficient, and he advised me of where concerns were (some rust build up that I immediately took care of)! I would definitely use him again. Price was reasonable.
