American Sewer

Jon and his wife Joan both came. John was professional and friendly, told me up-front what the cost of the main line would be, and also warned me that an extra length of snake cable might be needed because of my distance to the municipal sewer. That turned out not to be needed. After the line was cleared, and he ran the snake a second time after he saw that his blade pulled back a tree root which might have replugged the main on the way out of the hole, Jon advised on what might be needed to clear three other lines from backing up on their own. Since two floor drains shared the same line, we decided it was only necessary to clear one. Jon worked quickly, and had everything done before I needed to be back at work.

Joe agreed to a service call less than 24 hours after my call. Called me the next day and said they could come early. Laid down carpet protectors. We ran into a problem that they couldn't find the main drain line access so they did a minor line clean out for $90 instead. Less than an hour overall.

They did what we asked them to do so it really wasn't a big deal. They did everything they said they were going to do. They were very unclear in the terms on the Big Deal and as soon as I got there the price went up.

We called American Drain early on a Monday morning. He was able to fit us in at 3pm. They were on time, and went right to work. It took only about 30 min. to fix the problem. They left the sink spotless and cleaned the area under the sink. I would call them again.

I purchased a Big Deal from Angie's list regarding the services for American Sewer. They provided me with a video inspection of my main drain line. After inspection of the drain line, I had them clean it and clean our floor drain as well. Overall the experience was fine. Jon, the owner, did not show up. An employee showed up. He was a little more uncertain and certian things, but overall the job was done correctly and no problems since. Price was right as well.

Came back from vacation to water backing up in our basement. 2 pm on a Sunday...who to call? Found Jonathan on the List, saw he had an emergency number to call and he was out at our house within the hour. We were back up and running within two hours total. Actually paid ahead to have him come back and camera the pipe that he found blocked, to ensure no future problems there. Kudos for speed and service-this is the company you want to call.

Jonathan answered his phone late at night, when I was expecting voicemail, came out two days later during a convenient time for me, showed up on time and performed the work flawlessly.

Went well. They were here last October too and put a camera in the line to check it out. The line was in really good shape. We live in S.W. Mpls. and this is an older part of town with lots of roots. I'm keeping on top of it so we don't have a back up again.

I received a call that he would be a little delayed due to rush hour traffic. He did arrive exactly when he estimated. The issue was discussed. The drains were snaked as I requested. I feel the job was done properly. The area(s) were left clean and without a mess. I was really pleased with the price. I would definitely use American Sewer again.

The person at the office was very personable and asked if it would be ok to come the next day, 08/02/2013 between 1-3pm. I was fine with that because it was not an emergency and I was happy they could come that soon. Rob showed up before 1 after calling me and letting me know he would be able to come right away. He came and wrote $89. on the receipt before he even started.. He was very knowledgeable and knew what the problem was and worked on it within the hour. I did have a coupon. He showed me a trick I could do if the drain starts to run too slow, old drain!! I really appreciated that and he was very nice. I told him I would recommend them to all my friends. I was very pleased.

He did a good job, and worked around a different sewer trap that impeded the video camera. Eventually, all the roots etc. were removed from the line. Since I had 10 feet of the sewer line replaced 6 months before, I wanted to be sure to keep the line clear. This was an annual cleaning suggested by the guys who repaired the line.

Team did a great job. They were polite, respectful and clean. They were on time, completed the job in the stated amount of time and at the price quoted. I would definitely hire them again!

I was given a 2 hour window and they called 1 hour early and said they were running ahead and asked if they could come early. I stopped what I was doing and agreed. They then didn't show up for 1 1/2 hours. They did the work that they were suppose to do but left a mess of roots, etc on my basement floor from the main drain inspection. The toilet that was serviced I found leaking all over the bathroom floor later that night. I called the next day and was given ANOTHER 2 hour window for them to come back and repair the toilet. Overall, the work and the mess was not worth 4 hours of my time or the money I paid for the Big Deal.

They arrived at the very tail end of the two hour window (initially said between 8-10, arrived at 10:05). This was OK because I'd called requesting a more accurate timeframe and they said 10. Professional, unintrusive, polite, and helpful. Strong recommend.

The service for the big deal went great. I had a great experience with the company.

Tech arrived a bit late however he called well ahead to let me know he was running late and now stuck in traffic. No issues with that at all, appreciate the communication. Before he even started the job he made sure to understand my problem and the layout of our drain and sewer lines. Communicated exactly what he was doing and why. Cleaned up very well after he left, could not tell that he was there except drains are flowing much better.

Great. Came out same day - within 3-4 hours of initial call, actually. Stayed in contact as he said he would, arrived when he said he would. Pleasant, informative, gave easy maintenance instructions, focused. Talked just enough to be pleasant, not so much to be annoying. Would call again.

We put a load of laundry in last night. Some time later we came downstairs and found the basement floor flooded. After using the shop vac we started testing where the problem was. The toilets worked, but anything that drained into the branch drain that the floor drain was connected to (like our washing machine) caused the floor drain to back up and flood. We did what we could into the wee hours of the morning (what a mess!) and went to sleep without being able to use any of the sinks or the shower. This morning I jumped on Angie's list and called a couple of the top rated sewer and drain specialists. Jonathan was able to get to our place the fastest - within 20 mins. When Jonathan arrived he was courteous, listened to what we experienced, and then went to work. Within 15 minutes he identified the problem, drilled out the blockage, tested everything a few times, and cleaned up. Wow - we were impressed! The cost was extremely reasonable and he didn't try to sell us anything else. I asked about having the main line inspected and cleaned and he said he'd be happy to do it whenever we're ready and said to just give him a call when that time comes. Others we've talked to said that their guys tried to sell them everything they could. So here's the bottom line: We had a horrible situation happen. We called Jonathan at American Sewer and he was able to get here quickly, was courteous, efficient, professional and cost effective. We will definitely be calling him about any other needs. Rob was very knowledgeable. I was glad he was able to come out as promptly as he did. He was professional and the job was done efficiently. He was quite reassuring.

He called during the window given - arrived as per schedule. Took care of the issue and left the area clean. He answered all my questions.

Johnathan did excellent work. This was a particularly bad blockage that necessitated a lot of careful work and patience. He explained the situation and always kept me informed on what he was doing and what the next steps would be. This was not a simple clog in the trap underneath the kitchen sink, but rather a major blockage located far down a pipe behind finished walls. He arrived on time and with all the tools he needed, and he worked very "neatly" for such a messy job. I would not hesitate to use him again for other drain related issues or questions.

It went fine. They were timely, efficient, knowledgable, and I would, and have, refer them to other people.
