American Sewer

I was updated, calls were returned immediately. I was not able to be there therefore had to trust what he was telling me on the phone. Jonathan is the name. Very impressed with the service.

Quite honestly, I think he spent more time getting his gear in and out of the basement than he did the actual work. He first snaked my main line all the way to the street where I connect with city main. He then inserted his camera so he could then assess the "collapsed line" scenario painted by Roto Rooter. I have to tell you, when I first called Jonathan, I told him that I was going to get a third opinion as well and he said after I am done, you won't need another opinion. I liked the confidence!!! Ok, so back to the work! He called me down to the basement, showed me the minor roots that he pulled out, which, by the way, Roto Rooter also said they could not remove and recommended I get a camera view with them. He showed my the camera view all the way to the city main and that everything was completely fine and, quite the opposite.......my main line looked "brand new", in his words!! Jonathan and American Sewer were spot on with their assessment and saved me from the crooks at Roto Rooter, to the tune of at least $5200!! American Sewer was prompt, the rates were reasonable and he did exactly what he said he would do!! I told him that he was now my new plumbing/sewer./drain guy!!! Thanks for being honest and showing me your work!!! I completely appreciate the integrity of how they operated and for those of you looking for knowledgeable, trustworthy, competent and competitive work, use American Sewer!!

He corrected the problem so that was a huge relief. The problem arrived and I needed to get it done quickly and he was able to come the same day within a couple of hours so that was also a big relief. He kind of left a mess. He was on time. They were very friendly and very helpful. They were very willing to help us solve the problem and not just say that the line is too busy. They made arrangements special to get to our house and I greatly appreciated that effort.

I had the washing machine drain completely clogged. hey were very prompt in responding to my call and where at my house within a couple hours When the first repairman realized he needed a longer hose to complete job, he contacted someone right away. They both arrived and worked on the clog until it was cleared, even though it was after 6pm. They kept on assuring me that they would not quit until it was unclogged. I would use this company again.

There was bad traffic so he was late for our appointment but he called us to let us know of his situation so there was no issue. We had a very stubborn clog in our bathroom sink. We tried to snake it, use the drain buster chemical and nothing worked. It turned out there was a calcium build-up in our pipe (no hair or toy) so needed a special tool to remove it. When he was using the machine, it was loud and felt like the whole house was vibrating but in a few min, it was done and the water went down so fast! Then he went to our basement to check our sewer line with a camera and showed us the inside of our sewer line. There were tree roots coming in already. We had no issues so far but he recommended to do the clean-up within 3-6 mos. We had other repairs going on in the house so we did not do it right away but it gave us really a good idea about how our sewer was. We purchased this Angie's List Big Deal. We used American Sewer before and really were satisfied with them and this time, we were happy to find the good deal for their excellent service again. Thank you, American Sewer!

Contacted American Sewer after purchasing a Big Deal coupon. Rob came to my house, was very polite and clean. He removed his shoes when entering the house. He inspected 2 toilets and cleaned the water holes to make sure more water would enter the toilets providing a better flush. He also inspected the sewer line with a camera and found it was relatively clean.

This was the second company I contacted. The first one was a national company we've all heard of and I called them in distress, without checking Angie's List first. They came out and partially cleared the main enough to get water flowing again and charged $280. After a couple of days the main was clogged again. I decided to check Angie's List the second time around before calling anyone. It seems like I need to re-learn that lesson every two years :) American Sewer had a "Big Deal" and good reviews promo so I decided to go with them. They came out at 8:45am on a weekday and started working. Two men came out, brothers I think. It is a normal setup with the main in the basement and out front to the street. After chugging away with the rooter they called me down to talk. They had pulled out some roots but there seemed to be something bigger in the way, such as a collapsed pipe. They said that they can usually get through after a few hours. They could keep going but it could end up costing a lot for labor with no progress. I had a decision to make whether I wanted them to keep trying. The alternative was to pay a lot of money to dig up the yard and the street to find the problem. I told them to go another hour and see if they could figure it out. They suggested using a snake camera for an extra $125 so I said yes to that. Back to work they went. I heard them chugging away down in the basement but they didn't call me down for another two hours. Expecting bad news, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they had broken through. They showed me the clear pipes on the camera, and then about halfway down the source of the problem. There had been a really nasty bundle of roots in there and the repeated grinding away finally broke through. And the cutting blade from the first company was lying there in the pipe. They said the first guy must have decided to ditch his blade in there because it was so jammed up. Not wanting to have that blade sitting there and causing future problems, I asked if they could get it out of there. They used the camera to ram it out to the street main and it fell over the edge. Now the pipes were completely clear. It looked great on the camera. Although it is disappointing that the first company ditched on me like that, I don't consider it a complete loss. The first guy was working for at least two hours and that work would have been necessary for the second company to finish. I would have been annoyed had it not been that the first company's failing led me to find American Sewer. American Sewer, for their part, was great. I really appreciated their honesty and hard work. In total, they were in my basement for six hours just working away. There was sewage splattered on my appliances and wall and they cleaned that up too. Truly dedicated service!

Excellent job! He arrived on time and did a great job clearing out the problem. Also advised me of important other things to help maintain the system.

Rob resolved the issue very quickly (less than 30 minutes on the drain issue). I explained the steps I had taken to try to resolve the issue - tried plunging and a snake. He explained the anatomy of this drain as he worked on it and gave me helpful information to help prevent the issue in the future. He also answered questions about a slow flushing toilet and suggested things to improve flow of the water in the bowl. Even did a quick demo of a toilet auger which actually seemed this issue a bit. I would be happy to call this company again if I have drain issues.

He was very friendly and very helpful, mine was an extreme case of 37 years worth of build up never properly taken care of. It's been a year and I haven't had any issues yet

Great. They were able to clean out the sewer line on the same day, which was great. They also fixed up the toilet so it flushed better.

My husband and I discovered a 1 inch flood in our laundry room due to a clogged floor drain. My husband was able to scrape out enough scum to get the water to drain, but it clearly needed to be professionally declogged. We were also worried that there was a larger issue with the drain pipe below the basement floor. We were able to make an appointment with American Sewer at the time that we wanted. Jon, the owner of American Sewer, and his apprentice arrived on time and handled everything in a professional manner. They checked the pipe (from the floor drain) with a camera all the way to the main line under the street. They showed the video to me so that I could see that the pipes were all in good order. They declogged the drain. They checked another pipe in the basement just to make sure there wasn't another reason for the flooding. They also fixed a trap/drain under the laundry room sink that had been leaking (a separate issue from the flooding), and they answered some other plumbing questions that I had. I was very pleased with the service and would definitely hire them again. The rate seemed very fair and there was no upsell.

First, he cleared my drain and checked my toilet and then he ran a camera thru my main line. It was well done.

A previous pluming company had been dispatched by my Home Warranty company but they were unable to clear the clog. I found American Sewer on Angies list and they came out and had equipment that the previous plumber did not have. It took a while but they were able to clear the clog which ended up being mostly grease and other soft material. I am extremly happy and the cost was less than I expected.

These guys are great! I have used them three times now and they always come out promptly. The guy that came out unclogged the pipe for me and then stayed (at no extra cost) trying to help me fix a leaky pipe.

It went very well. The tree roots were removed. Video confirmed the line was clean and in good condition. The work area was left clean. Crew was professional.

They came and immediately put on shoe coverings before walking into the house. They looked at the drain and asked me questions and decided it was not only the main drain but the other 50' drain that came from the water pipe to the main drain. They quoted me a price and began the work. They were done within the hour and totally cleaned up the basement where they had worked. They also put covers over my carpeting. They were professional and friendly. I will call them again next year to maintain the sewer pipes.

The sink was un-clogged wonderfully. The toilet tune-up didn't go quite as smoothly. He did replace the pump thing that he broke and didn't charge me but the toilet still makes a high pitched whine when it flushes and sometimes flushes twice. He also did not do the main drain video which is fine because I said he didn't have to but the price was still the same.

The technician called to let me know he would be 10 minutes late. No Problem, but I can't tell you how much I appreciated the call. 10 minutes isn't any problem, but the courtesy of the call was great! He came and did a very thorough job of cleaning and inspecting the drain. He also gave me helpful hints for keeping the drain open. He was friendly and I felt comfortable with him in my home. He wore slipons on his shoes so he wouldn't get my floor dirty and cleaned up the mess from cleaning the drain. Very friendly and professional! Price was very fair. Will hire them again when needed.
