American Sewer

Showed up exactly when he said he would arrive. Normally, this service would cost $125. He charged an extra $100 for the "emergency" weekend service. I was happy to pay it since I had a lot of family arriving shortly for the holidays.

Did not offer the toilet tune-up as was in the package. Almost did not make it to the appointment because got lost. I had to listen to a sales bit on how the company could provide a camera service to look at our main sewer line. I was out of time.

They did the job. They were responsive and effective. The only negative I had on them at all was that their price was expensive but I think it's Sunday when I called them so I think it also affected what the pricing was. They did everything that I expected them do. They told me what the cost was going to be before they got here.

The sewer was backed up and on May 27th American Sewer cleaned out the sewer pipe. On June 30th when the sewer again was backed up they cleaned out the sewer. They also ran a camera down the line and said there were rocks in the sewer pipe, stating I needed to have the line flushed out ( with a "jetter") in order for the line not to get clogged again. They also said if the line was not flushed out there could not be any warranty for the work they did that day. I did not have them do this additional work (believe they quote around $200 to flush out the line) . When I decided to sell the house, the city inspected the sewer and I needed repair the line. The company did the repair work did not find any rocks in the line.

The service was excellent. The company was on time, friendly and professional.

Jonathan came early Saturday evening to unclog a kitchen drain that had been clogged for 4 days. I have never called for a plumber before and was worried that it wouldn't go well. Jonathan changed that. He was very courteous, great sense of humor, worked quickly, cleaned up everything when he was done and the drain works perfectly; we couldn't be more pleased with the service he provided. I have already recommended him to another friend and will definitely call him again!

Jonathan did not come out, but instead a subcontractor did. Once he was here doing the job, he mentioned to me that I should have the main drain cleaned as well even after letting him know that the previous homeowners just had it done. I agreed and paid an additional $250 for a camera inspection and cleaning because of his recommendation, but should have used my better judgment and not done this service. I assumed that it must need to be done again as this plumber suggested it to be done. Not my best decision, as it was money that I didn't need to spend. I wish he would have been more honest with me especially as I showed him the invoice of what had been done previously. I will be more wise next time to this sort of tactic and my decisions in dealing with it! Also, this plumber had to come back to my house, as the pipes under my kitchen sink (where he was working to snake my laundry drain) was leaking something terrible! He had been working under my sink to get the clog out of my laundry tub and he did not put my pipes back together correctly. He did come back to my house to try and fix the problem but was most definitely aggravated in having to do so. He didn't want to take accountability to not putting the pipes back together properly. He blamed our contractor who was working on our home at the time. Anyhow, he fixed the problem enough to last one day and the next day we were dealing with water under the sink once again. This time I called my brother over to fix the problem. My dealings with this subcontractor named Rob was less than satisfactory and I would never have him come back again. I would, however, try Jonathan again only if he were the one to come out to my home, as he does have many good reviews. I would advise anyone to request Jonathan himself if they are going to hire American Sewer and I'm sure the outcome would be very different. I apologize for the delay in reviewing this company about my experience . I was trying to put the whole situation behind me and not think of the $250 that I should have never spent. However, I feel an obligation to not only myself to let this company know what went on, but for others, so that they will not make the same mistake I did by allowing someone to talk them into something that is not needed! I truly feel that had my husband been home, the whole experience would have been different!

Jonathan was able to come the next day after we called. He cleared our kitchen drain which is a challenge because it is about 80 feet in length. He did a great job.

Jonathan assessed the situation, and determined the culprit to be the basement drain vs the main sewer line from the house. He then cleaned out the obstruction in the drain, and did a visual via camera to assess the pipe, and any other obstructions going all the way to the street sewer line. After camera inspection we discussed the situation and options of cleaning out roots in the mainline now or later. Based on the information / assessment provided, I chose to have the main line cleaned now. Jonathan was very professional, answered all my questions, listened to my concerns, and provided information in a manner which allowed me to make the best decision for me, and my property at this time. Though I was able to catch this before property damage was done, Jonathan also made a recommendation to add a water sensor in the basement. I appreciated the additional tips he provided for prevention, and maintenance going forward.

It was a good deal, and the young man was very nice, polite, and professional.

John cleared my floor drain and had an accidental spill of sewage into my basement. The crew was very professional and quickly fixed the problem and had a cleanup crew come and take care of the mess. Very professional crew and willing to take accountability. Would recommend!

I appreciated that Eric was so courteous and helpful. He quickly got to work and cleared out my kitchen drain -- took apart the pipes and showed me the problem. He answered all my questions, and did the work neatly and cleanly. I would definitely call this Company again!

We had been having issues with two of our toilets, and were worried that we had major sewer line problems. He snaked the toilets to ensure all was clear, tuned up the flushing mechanisms, and all is well.
