American Sewer

After settling on 5/24 as the date for repair, I called American Sewer and asked if they could come a day early, as we couldn't use the water without overflowing in the basement. They rescheduled and Seth came. He finished the work within the allotted hour to my satisfaction. He was neat and professional-friendly t4oo. I would use American Sewer again and will keep their name on my list of good providers from Angies' list.

Great communication and customer service. He explained everything he was doing in detail and spent time showing me areas of concern in my sewer line. Very happy with the service performed and would definitely use this company again. Thanks.

Rob called to let me know his arrival which was right on time. He covered my stairs and laid down carpet to protect the carpet downstairs which I liked! He cleared out my main sewer of roots to the street. Very pleased with this company and will use them again.

We had a sewer backup that happened very suddenly in our basement at the end of the day. I called this provider based on their angies list reviews. I was only $100 extra for them to make an after hours service call and the prices were very reasonable. They arrived in under an hour and worked on the main sewer access immediately, they determined that the issue was in the house not in the street access and required an additional line to cleared but the additional charges were both reasonable and well explained. The service call was only $300 total for after hours service and the worker handles himself with professionalism and complete the work quickly.

Did a great job in explaining what he was doing as well as things I should look for in case there are any issues in the future. As it turned out everything was good to go in the house, but it offered great peace of mind.

It turned out that there was a right-angle turn in the sewer line and he could not get the video. Past sewer line cleaners had been able to navigate the right-angle turn and get the complete video (or they were making it up?!) and perhaps this camera was just too large. What he did do right was show me where the right-turn was in my basement floor! My job is to dig out that access point so that in the future, plumbers can go directly from the house to the street. The only part we could see was the line under the house. He did claim that the equipment cleared the line from the house to the street as best he could, given the bend in the line (clearing the line is done without the camera, obviously). I don't fault this service person; I just conclude he had different equipment that was not compatible with anything but direct sewer lines. Hence, my advice to any future customers: if you know your sewer line has a bend in it, choose a different company!

It went fine. He brought good equipment, blades were sharp, cleared root blockage near the house and then went out to the street to be sure there was no additional blockage.

His name was John and he did a great job. At that point he was the owner and he solved the problem pretty quickly.

The main line was clogged up with roots and they cleaned it out with their machine. Probably saved us some money. I know there are other services that I'm told insisted on digging up the whole thing and replacing it and they were able to do it less expensive. It's running clean now.

We were having a problem every time the washing machine drained where the floor drain would back up. I saw the ad for main sewer line cleaning by American Sewer. I called them to discuss the problem and was assured that it could be corrected. I was able to schedule the service at a time that was convenient. I asked for a morning appt and was given the 8-12 window. Rob called this morning 30 min before he was going to arrive and told me he was on his way. Rob arrived and I showed him where the problem was and explained the situation and he went right to work. In what seemed like less than an hour Rob had our drain cleaned and working just like it used to. Turns out the the problem was gunk buildup in the drain that just needed to be cleaned out by mechanical means, chemical drain cleaners were not going to do the job and they are h****** the pipes. I will definitely use American Sewer again!

Most people don't want to call a professional to do a job you think is a DIY. But in this situation, so glad I did. Our bathtub suddenly stopped draining two days ago. Home DIY methods involved a snake, some Drano, and finally a drill powered auger. With no or very little improvement, I finally picked a plumber from Angie's list and called around 8am today. Got a call back very quickly and was able to schedule someone to come between 12-4pm (I requested afternoon). I didn't have to stay at home, since I'd get a call approx 30 min prior to visit. Seth called when he was on his way and showed up within the time frame he gave me. Not sure I need to describe every detail of the job, but it was labor intensive and not easy. Luckily Seth was persistent and tried at least 5 different ways and methods to get at a clog that he suspected was in a basement pipe. The work space was dark, cramped, and on questionable plumbing from previous owners or other repair jobs not associated with American Sewer. Finally, Seth suggested cutting the pipe to get to the clog, which was fine by me since we plan to have all of it redone this summer with a remodel project. (I should mention, that many access points to the pipes were either corroded or stipped, making it nearly imposible to get to the clog by conventional means.) Cutting the pipe and working a new angle at the clog did the trick!! It wasn't an actual solid object blocking the pipe, but a mass of hair so dense it essentially turned solid. After that mess, Seth cleared more of the pipe to prevent more clogs in our near future. Tub drain tested by filling tub, then draining. Worked like a dream. Even got a little water tornado at the drain, which I haven't seen in years. Prices discussed earlier, so no surprises. For two hours of dirty hard labor & some plumbing parts it only cost $204. Worth every penny. Thanks again Seth!

From time I called until they arrived was less than two hours. Plumber, John, was very nice and efficient. Cleared both my laundry tub drains as well as the main floor drain. Was well worth the price, which I thought was very reasonable. Will definitely use them again and would absolutely recommend to others.

We just purchased a new house and wanted to make sure the main line was clear and good to go. They came out and gave us great information about our main line and assured us everything was good. We will definitely be using them again in the future!

I bought a big deal for this service and it turned out good. I think they came the same day and fixed my problem. It took them a couple of hours to complete the job. I went over the allotted foot amount specified in the big deal because I have a very long driveway so I paid about $50 extra. I can't think of anything they can improve upon. They were cheaper than everybody else. I was not here until after they finished. They were quick to come out and fixed my problem fast.

Scheduling was very easy. The day before, we had out hot water heater had gone out and they cleaned the sewer when they installed the new one. The technician who came out was very nice. The plumber that was there the day before had said that the line was still clogged. The technician showed us the camera view of the line out to the road and that the drain was perfectly clean. Everything worked out fine overall.

The service person took care of our toilet that wasn't filling properly and replaced the parts. Also cleaned our floor drain in the laundry room that was backing up. Advised us that some of the work we thought might need to be done was unnecessary and identified a problem with our washer hoses leaking on the floor, which he also fixed. Great Experience.

When water started seeping out the bottom of the toilet and saturating the floor in a downstairs bathroom, we called American Sewer LLC to come out the next morning to check our drains. They promptly discovered that the main sewer line into the house had been breached and the lines were filled with sand and mud. Subsequently, the sub-contractor drilling a trench to install fiber optic cable in our neighborhood agreed to dig up the pipe and replace it. After the new pipe was installed, American Sewer returned and attempted to inspect the sewer line with a video camera, but saw that the lines were still blocked by mud. They spent several hours hydro-jetting the sand and mud until the water ran clear. A second attempt with the digital video camera verified that all the blockage was cleared.

Prompt and went above and beyond to clear it without having to use an expensive tool in the van that would have increased cost automatically $100 by just bringing it out. Thanks much, I know I will use these guys for all plumbing needs.

Perfect. Tub has run clear for two months. No issues. They had it done in all of 15 minutes.
