American Sewer

The original drain blockage recurred only a couple of weeks after the first visit, so I called and asked for the same person to be sent out to correct his original work. He did come out, and thought that it had been months, not a couple of weeks since his visit. He worked on the wrong drain (which was not blocked) and then when I asked him to clear the washer line, he billed me again for the original service, saying that I must have had something new block the line. I have been in this house for over 12 years and never had that drain blocked, so I don't think that was the case,

Called on Monday morning and got scheduled for the same day. Technician was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. I decided to spend extra $75 and had the camera to check on roots and condition of sewer line.

We called American Sewer on a Saturday afternoon hoping for some help with our chronically clogged sink. We'd had a friend who was a plumber come unclog it once, and he advised us that we needed to call someone with some more heavy-duty equipment and expertise. Rob was very responsive and was able to come to our home within about four hours of us calling him. I appreciated his honesty up front. We asked if we could use the deal we saw on Angie's List to pay for the service, and he told us that we could not. He said that if we waited until Monday, then we could use it. Or, if we still wanted him to come out for the same-day service on the weekend, the difference in cost would be $100. Then he let us make the call. But he didn't try to dissuade us from using the deal. He simply gave us the cost for each and let us decide (we chose to pay the extra and have him come on the weekend). He arrived promptly when he said he would and was very professional from the minute he stepped in the door. He listened to my explanation of the problem and asked some questions. Even though I wasn't much help (I don't honestly know that much about plumbing), Rob was able to walk through the house and make some good educated guesses about how our plumbing is set up. He even taught me a thing or two along the way, and he made some really excellent recommendations for things we could do to improve the plumbing setup in our home. I mentioned that we have a plumber friend, and he was even pointing out minor things we could have him change or fix. I really loved that about Rob -- he was just trying to help improve our plumbing situation -- not angling to get additional work for his company. I love that he was putting the customer first. As for the work itself, Rob was fast and efficient. He snaked the line, narrating as he went for my benefit. I could tell he takes pride in what he does -- he seemed almost as happy as me when he tested our sink by filling it up and watching the water drain down perfectly. He located the problem, answered all of my questions, patiently repeated information so I could write it down and then settled up with me. He brought a big heavy drop cloth and even wore these cool giant rubber boots that looked kind of like Crocs that slipped over his work boots so that he didn't bring dirt into the house. When he left, you'd never know he had been here. It was really an excellent experience from top to bottom. Would definitely use again, and definitely see why this company is so highly rated here. Add another A rating to the stack.

the service tech spent most of time explaining how troublesome our access door to the tub was. Then seemed to rush through the "tune up" of toilet.

Seth Pullis came out to unplug the kitchen sink and ended up having to unplug the floor drain in the basement. Worked hard, got the job done and cleaned up a nasty mess afterward. I am very pleased that I engaged American Sewer and would use them again.

They came to the house after a recommendation from another plumber. We'd tried everything to unclog our kitchen drain including a 50 foot snake. We purchased a deal for them through Angie's List. They came promptly when contacted and still had a hard time unclogging the sink. They finally got a snake with a blade on the end which did the trick. They were there for a little bit longer than the deal allowed, so we were charged a bit more for the extra time. I didn't care because I finally had a working drain in my kitchen!

Went great, the young man was very quick and knowledgeable.

Rob was able to quickly unblock our sewer main, and gave me an overview on its condition while running their camera down the pipe. I really appreciate his explanations and advice on what to do should the line block up again. He was great about answering the questions I had. Very courteous & professional. They came out within a couple hours of my call on a Saturday afternoon, which I really appreciated. It was an expensive call (due to weekend rates) if you look at it in absolute terms, but compared to what I would have paid other similar providers I'm pretty sure they are in line with market prices. I would work with these guys again, and would highly recommend them to anyone else.

The Job... The second scheduled time frame was today from 12-4pm. They made the time frame. Plumber was very nice and professional. He assessed the situation and from start to finish the job took about 30 minutes. I would definitely use them again. Great experience. Scheduling Issue... I had a 12-4pm window scheduled for 6/9/2015. They did not make that time frame. I called and they apologized but had 2 techs out of commission. One from getting their auger caught in a drain line and the other from heat exhaustion (this was an oddly placed >90 degree day in the Twin Cities). I emphasized that it would be nice to call to alert me that they couldn't make it make it. They agreed and apologized.

They were thorough and we would use them again.

I called them in the morning and was able to get it scheduled for the same day. The window they provided was between 12-4 and they were at my home by 12:30. It turned out good. They were here 15 minutes and it was all taken care of.

Great! I called this morning. Seth came out later that same afternoon. He was in an out in an hour and did an excellent job. He gave me good tips on the drain to keep it clean longer. I would use them again in an heartbeat!

Prompt return text message; great follow-up with appt time. Plumber was available earlier than expected and called 25 minutes ahead to see if the earlier time would work. He was professional, polite, and good at his job. Got the job finished and was out the door in less than 30 minutes.

Got a call to say was running long at first job and would be near the end of the window. Tech was nice, appeared to know what he was doing, tried 2 or 3 different tactics, but was unable to clear the trap on my floor drain. He thought it looked like there was concrete in the trap and he couldn't clear it. He clean up his tools and the work area, but unfortunately he was not able to solve my problem.

They did a great job - were here on time, diagnosed the problem, got down to it and got the job done. I had been told I needed to get a liner by a previous sewer company, who then proceeded to push me into committing to an expensive procedure. American Sewer said I didn't need to have this done.

We called them about 930am with a request for same-day service because our kitchen sink drain was clogged. They informed us that they would work us in sometime between noon and 6pm. The unknown timeframe was fine with us. Plumber arrived at around 4pm and went right to work. He cleared something beyond where our drain snake could reach and kept going. He cleared another clog about 40ft out. He cleaned up, and left. He was polite and professional.

American Sewer, LLC provided outstanding service at a very reasonable price. Jonathan and his assistant were thorough, efficient, and professional. They explained what they were going to do, the results of the work, and answered all my questions. Beyond the ordered service, Jonathan checked the toilet, then adjusted the flapper to achieve best balance of performance and water conservation. I appreciated that they asked for my input. Also, Jonathan made excellent recommendations.
