American Sewer

We had our kitchen drain backup over the weekend. We looked for a provider on Angies list on Monday and American Sewer had a Big Deal that allowed 2 drains cleaned for $139. We purchased the deal and were able to schedule for the next day. Seth arrived promptly the next morning and went to work. He cleaned the whole line (50 feet) first and the downstairs sink was still slow. He took apart the trap under that sink and found solid matter, which he removed. Everything is working great now. The job was done for the $139 and we couldn't be happier. Truly a great provider!

Did a great job, as usual. Arrived promptly. Cleaned up everything when done. We have this tree root problem and need the line cleaned yearly. American Sewer is always our choice for the job.

The second clogged drain in the bathroom was an extremely difficult clog to remove for reasons I won't get into. John the serviceman worked tirelessly to unclog the drain and did it after numerous attempts. I'm not sure anyone else could have unclog the drain.

He arrived at exact en d of time window..I think it was unsatisfactory that he had no visual identification either on him personally or on his truck as to which organization he was representing. , The work was fine but he acted like doing this job was not what he really wanted to do-maybe a bad day.

The person answering the phone when I called was very nice, friendly, polite, etc. I was quite pleased to learn that they had an opening this same day. John arrived towards the end of the appointment window (after calling first - thanks much for that!), which meant his stay lasted longer than the window. (Just meant I had to reschedule a conference call I was planning to take from home right after the appointment window.) He was able to clean out the "gunk" in the drum trap and in the pipes beyond that in a reasonable amount of time, and then he also took steps to clean up the mess that was left in the bathtub and on the basement floor (under the drum trap). This is the first time I've ever seen a plumber take steps to clean up like that. I'm sure we will go back and clean the tub with more sanitizing cleaners later this evening, but at least the tub isn't unsightly to look at in the mean time and we don't have to deal with the stench of that "gunk". While working on the drum trap, John showed me what he was doing and explained how I might be able to do much of this kind of thing on my own should it happen again. The only category above that I didn't give a full 100%/A marking to is "Punctuality" and this may not be truly fair on my part. John did call me ~10 minutes before arriving, and did arrive within - but towards the end of - the appointment window. On that count, he did everything within expectations. Because the work continued past the appointment window, I had to shuffle a conference call around that would have started just as soon as the appointment window ended. It is for this reason that I decided I couldn't give a perfect A in this category. Very good work, and I'd surely use these folks again and would recommend them to anyone in their service area.

All drains are free flowing now, My tenants couldn't be happier.

True to the reviews given on Angie's list American Sewer did an excellent job checking our sewer lines out to the street. Seth, the representative, brought all the necessary equipment to do the job right. He detailed all the functions he provided. The length of the line to the street and the types of pipe that were used in construction of the line itself. All important information for future use. Some of the line was PCV and some were cast iron. Seth ran a camera out to the street, which was 106 ft, and was able to determine if there was any blockage. I watched the camera as it went out to the street main line and saw for myself that it was clear. This is so important as any blockage could cause flooding in the basement. So, thanks to Seth and American Sewer all went well. They were on time and did the efficiently! We would most certainly use them again!

Did a good job with cleaning the backedup drain. Also made sure to cleanup after himself.

Blocked drain caused consistent backwash when using wash machine. Friendly and professional technician went right to work. Only issue was that I had purchased a camera inspection of the drain which was more expensive by $30 than a cleaning, and that wasn't performed, presumably because it wasn't necessary. No complaint about that, just ground my teeth a little about the extra $30 I paid.

Slow basement drain. Tech was fast and professional and found a problem that was in the house for 20+ years. Drains work perfectly now.

Fantastic. Great customer service when scheduling. Tech was fantastic - performed the service quickly, cleaned up after himself, and was really nice! He showed me the camera feed as well - there was a block in the city portion of the line, not mine, and made sure I knew what to do to get the city to resolve the issue. And, he pointed out a separate issue with a plumbing line in the basement that I wasn't aware of.

I have an older claw foot tub and it required some work but he was able to clear the drain. Rob educated me on the process as he was trying different things because I like to know what's going on and he answered all my questions. Additionally as part of the Big Deal that I purchased he did a toilet tune up and was able to fix a constantly running water issue in the toilet tank. He was professional, on time and very knowledgeable. He was careful to respect my home and cleaned up after himself. I wish all service providers were as helpful as Rob. I would highly recommend that you use American Sewer! You won't regret it!

They were fantastic. They came out right away. They treated us wonderful. They came in and knew what they were doing. They did it and left. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I will definitely use them again.

I had used American Sewer at my previous home and just moved into this home and wanted to be proactive with my main drain maintence so I scheduled a cleaning. The service Tech John arrived in the within the window of time provided and called prior to arriving to confirm. He was scoped my main drain and I was able to see the ball of roots that had grown into my main drain. After cleaning the drain John re-scoped drain and showed the removal of the root ball and the clean drain. I am very happy with work, price, and service. I would highly recommend American Sewer!!!

Seriously - AMAZING!!! They saved me from HUGE expenses recommended by Roto Rooter two years ago, so have had them back every year since, just to kepp up maintenance! Use them, use them, USE THEM!!!

From the time I spoke to the company and their understanding of what was my immediate concern, I felt I was in the right hands. He was very professional, the best guy for the job. He was everything you want for a drain cleaner. He actually called a few times before coming out and called right before he arrived to ensure that we were ready for him.

Went well. I paid for the angie's list deal first. They did a good job. Before they came out I asked what it would cost to clean two drains. They said about 130.00 including a trip charge. My deal was 139 so basically, the "deal" was no deal, but the plumber did a good job.

Seth was outstanding. He was very punctual, explained in detail what he was going to do, what he found upon inspection and cleared the side drain with a "roto-ruter" device and replaced a missing cap that was going beyond what we had purchased with our coupon. Without a doubt i would very higkhly recommend American Sewer and specifically Seth. I would definately use American Sewer again

I had a great experience with this company. On Friday, July 3rd at about 1:00 I discovered that my floor drain had clogged up and as a result I had standing water in my basement. Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend I expected to have a nearly impossible time finding someone to come help. American Sewer was a really pleasant surprise as my call was answered by a friendly voice on the first ring - she said no problem and had someone out to my house within 2 hours at their normal rates - no extra charge for "emergency" service was another pleasant surprise! As promised, Rob called 30 minutes ahead which was helpful and he was friendly and knowledgeable when he arrived. He had my drain unclogged quickly, gave me some tips to help make sure I wouldn't have the same problem again, and charged me LESS than I was originally quoted on the phone as the job was easier than we'd expected. Friday night at dinner I raved to all my friends about how they needed to call American Sewer next time they had a problem - I will certainly use them again.

prompt, competent, professional, cleaned up well, I was happy. The cost I thought was fair, it took more work to get the main line clean because I have had such bad luck in the past with charlatans (most notably Roto Router), that I put off getting it done until it was very slow, and had backed up, and my line is quite long, due to the city putting the main line on the other side of the street. I plan on calling this company in the future
