American Sewer

The man that came to the house was very nice and did a very good job no mess.

The technicians arrived early. I got a call letting me know they were on their way. They power snaked the pipe under the kitchen sink. They were very professional and friendly. The job was done is less than 30 min.

Cleaning went well, though our sewer line is apparently unusually long so it took longer than expected and there was an additional charge on top of the deal I had purchased.

The plumber that came out was very friendly and courteous. He answered all my questions and was thorough in his job. I was very happy with the service and would definitely call them again!

I was very happy with the service. I originally called on a Sunday and they answered right away, they did explain that I could save $100 if I waited until Monday though they could get someone out. I decided to wait and save the money. I was happy that they were up front about the cost based on emergency vs scheduled.

Great. They used every weapon in their arsenal, and finally won the battle! Very professional and knowledgeable, explained what they were doing every step of the way. Very pleased all around.

The plumber (I think his name was Jon??) found a blockage right away about 150 feet from the clean-out cover on my sewer line. After using the camera, we saw a root about 1" thick had grown into the pipe, and expanded like a sponge, completely blocking solid mass and constricting a large amount of water flow. This was likely because I have two large silver maples in my yard, and the previous owner had not done a good job at cleaning the sewer out regularly. Anyways, their tools aren't really meant for removing that sort of debris, so it started looking like I would need to hire someone to dig up the pipe to fix the problem, which would have cost me well over 2500 dollars. He said he could keep grinding at it, and attempt to break the root ball off of its "trunk" root, and attempt to push the root ball out to the mainline. He left the decision up to me. He was very good about informing me of my options and was candid in communicating that his attempts may be in vain at the end of the day, costing me more for their services and not even fixing my problem. I chose to let him keep at it, and worked with him even (what little I could do), flushing toilets to try and get a large volume of water pushing against the clump, and flooding the drain with dish soap, to act as a lubricant. I sat with him for about 70% of the process, watching his progress, slowly pushing the root ball, probably millimeters with each push of the large diameter drain snake, until finally it was clear. He showed me the final picture with his camera tool, with the root clump now resting in the much larger diameter mainline. The thing was monstrous, at 3.5 to 4 feet long, and 6 inches in diameter. I had to call the city the next day and inform them that this thing was now in their mainline. They made it sound as though it wasn't the first time they'd received a call like that. At the end of the day, I had a very good experience with this company. The plumber declined two other jobs he could have had that day to stay and work on my issue, and he worked through meals until it was finished. The result of his full 8 hours of work saved me thousands, and gave me functioning plumbing that day, so I was happy to pay the ~800 dollars for the service. I will be calling them out to do a root clean-out every year from now on, to prevent such a large buildup from happening in the future.

It was a good experience. Would refer others and call them again. Had to call them as I didn't get an online response but once I did, they were great. Came during the time stated and the guy was very personable and efficient. He was even careful about covering my flooring before hauling in the equipment. Never had anyone do that before. It was greatly appreciated.

Our experience was great, as far as dealing with a sewer backup can be a positive experience. We had had a different company out several months earlier and the tech, while nice, seemed to lack training. With the line backing up again so quickly, I guess I was right. The American Sewer tech definitely seemed more knowledgeable. At one point, he cleared enough of the drain to get the water moving again but continued down the line to make sure he got everything. He ended up clearing out major blockage of tree roots, what the first guy missed. Haven't seen a plumber since! I will be scheduling a follow up in a few months though so we can get an idea about how quickly the roots are moving back into the pipes and decide on a preventive maintenance schedule.

Technician arrived on time and began to clean sewer line. Completed one pass and decided to go back in again for a second line cleaning. During this pass the line collapsed. Technician said that his boss would contact me shortly to provide the company information for who they work with to repair lines. I received no calls back from company even after leaving a voicemail. Would not use again. I fully realized that it was an old line and they were not responsible for repair costs, but as they had offered to provide assistance in located a company for repairs I expected them to follow through with that.

The service went very well. The tech was knowledgeable and he did a good job with cleanup with what had backed up in the drain. He was friendly and communicated well about what needed to be done.

laundry tub drain was not flowing. Got american sewer coupon from angies list. Tech came on time. Got right to the job using hand method, then got the big motor driven one. Finally cleared line. but now main is plugged. Since we had only signed on for a small drain, he gave me an estimate and did some discount adjustments for me to make the job affordable. He really had to put a lot of effort into the main. As we talked, I got the feeling some companies break out the job to enhance the bill. So one needs to ask the service provider what the costs could be if the job expands on site. I went from a simple 20 foot drain to a 100 foot main. Lots of opportunity to gouge. But these guys didn't. The final bill was very fair and the work is perfect. Hire these people, honest, work gets done, no complications. I am very satisfied.

We want to set up an appointment again for Jonathan to come out and clean our drain and sewer inspection.

Service man, I believe his name was Rob, was on time and courteous. He laid out a tarp or blanket to protect the floor and did a good job. Was pleasant to work with. Have used American sewer in the past and would use them again.

It went well. He was able to clear tree roots all the way to the sewer connection under the street.

I have heard terrors of how much sewage work could cost. I found an add on Groupon for American Sewer and decided what else could I lose. The groupon price to clear a drain was the same amount for another company just coming out. They had next day service, I was able to use Groupon to cover the cost of my back up and they ran a camera to search for future problems. They didn't charge me any extra and were amazing.

Saved me 1700 bucks, we sold our home and the buyers had some cut rate company come out who said the pipe needed major repairs, we had American Sewer come out for a second opinion they provided ample evidence that all the pipe needed was to be properly cleared of tree roots. The buyers were happy and we were thrilled not the have to spend 1700 bucks.

They were on time, fast, and efficient. Cleaned the drain and provided information on what was blocking the flow.
