+ 0 moreGreat! Dave called to confirm the time and arrived when he said he would. He was prepared with his tools, took off his shoes, assessed the problem and set to work to snake the drain. He put down a covering to protect the floor. Ran into a few glitches, but he resolved the problems and was able to clear the drain. Dave was friendly, professional, careful in his work and knowledgeable. I would definitely hire them again!

+ 0 moreDave arrived on time, figured out exactly where the line was, explained what he was going to do, proceeded carefully so as not to disturb any more of our floor than necessary, found and replaced the line, put everything back together, and cleaned up thoroughly, all for a very reasonable price. I was EXTREMELY nervous to see and hear my basement floor jackhammered! Thankfully, Dave was patient, reassuring, and extremely capable, which was a huge relief. In short, highly recommend!

+ 0 moreThey are extremely creative, thoughtful, and told us about how much this would cost. The money spent (About $375) saved us several thousand dollars worth of damage. I don't think many plumbers or drain repair people would have followed this through diligently as they did. An excellent business to work with and we were very happy with them. From the early spring of 2016.
Description of Work: We had a bathtub that was draining very slowly and getting worse by the week. We thought it would be an easy fix with a snake. The problem proved to be more extensive and involved a metal drain pipe that had corroded through. It was all the way down in our finished basement and in a tight spot with an access cover in our basement bedroom. They told us they could fix it, but would need to go to a hardware shop to buy a replacement pipe. They came back in just ten to fifteen minutes with all the parts needed, sawed out the old corroded pipe and fitted a new section of pipe to it. All of this took a while to saw through, smooth the surface, and prepare it and cut the new pipe perfectly. All of this work took between two and three hours. Now, our upstairs bathtub drain works perfectly and we avoided a serious problem later with drainage into the ceiling of our finished basement.

Knowing what caused the problem helps us prevent it from reoccurring (we will just use a mesh laundry bag for socks). + 1 moreIt went very well. He had to run the snake through the kitchen drain twice (the drain was really bad). He also ran a camera through the main drain to make sure it was clear and did a good job of cleaning up. The door opening to my basement is about 26" wide. The tech that came out didn't have any trouble getting his equipment through the opening; however, he mentioned that another tech had a bigger machine and it might not have fit through the door as easily. It might be helpful to measure your door openings so that they can make sure their equipment will fit through it easily. I would definitely hire American Sewer again.

Description of Work: Need to have two private sewer manholes cleaned: 1 manhole only plugged in winter due to frozen water. 2nd manhole occasionally plugged up or drain too slowly due to soil or landscape pebbles got into it.
