Description of Work: Spoke with Jon about service needs. When a listed plumber arrived to explain what was needed, I called Jon and we set up a time for the drain cleaning...he said between 1-3 pm was when he could arrive that PM. Plumber later called to say they needed to get to the job before it was too late so they could finish that day (and we would have water in house). I called Jon and told him that. At 12:11 pm, Jon left a msg that he would be at the house in less than an hour. Called him back at 12:24 (cell phone records)and he repeated that to me...at house in less than I hr. As a result of that commitment, I did not finish work that really was required to be finished and came home to meet Jon. I was home by 12:50 and began to wait for him. Plumber arrived at 1:30 and I called Jon to say they really needed him here and see if he was lost. He was at the previous job...and he seemed to have "forgotten" that he spoke with me and left the msg about being at my home in less than an hr at 12:11. He said he was still at the previous job, did not know when he would be finished and was 1/2 hr away traffic-wise. I spoke to the plumber...he was discouraged and explained what they would do and the additional money required from me as the drain was not being addressed. I told Jon I would check to see if I could get someone from the Plumbing Co to help with the drain as it needed to be done for them to do their job. Plumber said it was so late in the day (after 2 pm) that they could not get them out to drain it so he would do the expensive alternate. I called Jon back and told him to come and asked when he would come. He began talking to me in a disrespectful tone and treating me as if I had caused problems...as if he was chewing out a spouse not as if he was speaking to a customer. The plumber was trying to tell me about some pieces of the job while I was on the phone and I did not want to be yelled at by Jon so I told Jon that the plumber needed me, I could not talk and would expect him soon. He called back my cell to leave an insulting and rambling message about what a bad person I was and he was canceling the job. What felt like the truth is that he made a commitment to arrive in an hr and then got into a problem at his current job...but rather than to be honest about that...he blamed it on me. His behavior cost me another 200 plus, I did not get to finish my work, and I took personal insults from him after I told him I was disappointed. What homeowner wants to depend on someone who needs to do their part of a job, they make a commitment...can't follow through and leave the homeowner not only in the lurch with a higher bill from the other service person but get yelled at also? The Angie's List Plumber did a top notch job of my emergency, American Sewer was unprofessional, insulting and dishonest in their dealings. Prospective clients should know this side of Jonathan also.

Description of Work: called the provider to schedule service and they called me right back and we scheduled an appt. They were to arrive between 4pm and 6pm yesterday. They called about 5 and said they were running a little late. I said ok but they called at 7:15 and said they were "on the way". I just had surgery and was going to be going to bed by 8 so I said that was too late for me. This was a subcontractor and he said he would contact the owner later. The next day I decided not to pursue any more with this company.

Description of Work: American Sewer was great. We had a slow draining tub, which we suspected a toy was the cause. Jon came out the next day, and was able to vacuum out the clog without having to open any pipes. He found 1 tub marker, a Tylenol syringe and a soap bottle cap! Impressive!!

Description of Work: A call was made at 12:15 p.m. for service to work on a sewer back-up problem in a rental unit. An appointment was made for 3:30 p.m. that afternoon. A service person arrived on time, completed removal of root problems in the sewer line and completed the job including replacement of a broken sewer cap for a reasonable price of $119.00. Prompt service was extremely important to eliminate damage from sewer back-up. I have and would recommended this company for any plumbing job.

Description of Work: Came promptly and cleaned out a very nasty kitchen drain. Made sure the kitchen was clean before he left. He also fixed a problem with a toilet that was running. Very pleasant and respectful man.

Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for a Main Sewer Line Cleaning Including Video Inspection.

Description of Work: Jonathan arrived on time and worked for several hours to clear our sewer line - it was very clogged with roots since it had not been cleaned for many years. Jonathan used a camera to check the line as he was cleaning so he (and I) could see what was going on. Unfortunately a section close to the street had collapsed and needed to be repaired. Jonathan explained the situation clearly and laid out what my next steps would be to get it repaired and provided a couple referrals for the repair and followed up to ensure everything had been take care of. I would certainly use American Sewer again.

Description of Work: Jonathan came out and checked our sewer line with a camera, explaining everything he saw along the way. The cap to the line was actually mortared in due to a lousy bathroom remodel, so it took quite awhile for him to get the cap off but he didn't complain about it and eventually was able to remove it with minimal damage to the cap. The big deal we purchased also included on toilet tune up, and our upstairs toilet had been giving us some issues. Jonathan cleaned the jets and snaked the drain and it works like new now. I would definitely have him out again to clean the sewer line or for other plumbing issues.
