Description of Work: We hadn't had our sewer line checked in years so I bought a coupon deal from Angie's List after reading positive reviews about American Sewer. The person who did the inspection was on time, polite and professional. He had covers for his shoes and cloths to put down on the carpet. He did a camera inspection and it showed no roots, so that was a nice surprise (because we had a bad experience with a different provider years before where they didn't use a camera and then pulled a root back up and our basement flooded). I will use American Sewer again, and I recommend them highly.

Description of Work: The service was advertised as a bathroom sink drain unclogging and a toilet tune up. He cleared out the sink clog, so that was good. But all he did was inspect the toilet and told me what I already knew and left the house. If all you're going to do is just inspect something then don't call it a tune up. Tune ups replace parts and get something working to specs. Instead, the service ought to be advertised as an inspection. As a result, I felt I was mislead on half the promised service.

Description of Work: Cut tree roots out of main sewer line. Cleaned floor drain from kitchen/laundry. Provided new floor drain cap. Provider was on-time, courteous, protected our carpet, and gave us feedback during the process. I will recommend and use again.

Description of Work: I had an American Sewer tech out to figure out why water draining from my water heater into the floor drain had run down into my neighbor's utility room and damaged the ceiling. Jon checked things out as well as he could, then said I would need to have a plumber check it out. I'd called American Sewer thinking it was a plumbing company, but Jon said they do sewer and drain cleaning and such, not plumbing installation. So that was my misunderstanding. Jon himself was great, polite and respectful. His visit was pretty brief and he charged me accordingly.

Description of Work: American Sewer performed a preventative cleanout of our sewer main line and cleaned out a slow draining bathroom sink. | |The service started about 15 minutes outside of the three hour arrival window. The sewer main line was cleaned out first. The cleaning of the sewer line went well. After that the sink drain was cleaned out. This was more problematic as it was challenging to get the drain cleaned out, but the occlusion eventually was removed. Overall the process went well in terms of the end goal of well working drains. | |The one caveat is that no site prep was done to contain debris from the lines getting spread around the site. No plastic tarps were dropped on the floors and any cleaning that was done used a very dirty rag that had been used to wipe down equipment, spreading germs. If keeping the site of where the work is done clean and relatively germ free is important, I recommend either preping the area yourself or asking when you make an appointment for American Sewer to prep the area - or be prepared to use bleach to clean and disinfect.
