Affordable Locksmiths

When I called Affordable Locksmiths, I was initially quoted a price of $35 plus labor costs, which were to depend on the vehicle's level of security. I had received quotes from other locksmiths of $50-$75. Their stated price $35+labor sounded attractive; even if they charged an astronomical labor cost of $100 an hour, that could not be expected to add any more than $15-$25 to the total cost. Also, their claim that they would arrive within 15 minutes was a big plus. After a span of time between 30 minutes and an hour (I didn't have a timepiece), the technician finally arrived. He initially quoted me $40 for the service call, and when I said I was told $35 he immediately agreed. Imagine my surprise when he went on to say that labor would be billed at a flat rate of $145. I refused to pay such a ridiculous rate. The technician himself was very nice, and he offered to call his boss and try to get me a better rate. He asked how much I was willing to pay, and I said $75, which had been the most common rate I was offered by other locksmiths. He handed me the phone and I negotiated with the boss, who eventually agreed to do the work for a total of $80. That was slightly cheaper than paying the $35 service charge, sending him away, and hiring the $50 guy. I was pretty disgusted at this point, but I agreed. The technician seemed to be relatively unqualified--at one point I had to help him get his tools un-stuck from my door latch--but I have no complaints about his work. He got my car door open, which was what I wanted.

The locksmith who was sent out from Affordable Locksmiths Company was very professional. He got here when he said he would. He was done with the work in thirty to forty minutes. He was very professional. He cleaned up after himself. I thought that the prices were expensive but I really didn’t have a point of reference as this is the first time I was hiring a locksmith. He was very responsive. He was willing to come out the same day that I called. I would use them again in the future if required.
