Terrific and punctual (actually early) service; I was told via phone that I would receive 15% off labor as a AL member; the discount was not granted when the tech arrived.

Nick and Joe showed up at 6;20 a.m. to inspect our house which was ten minutes early. They looked over our electrical system and prepared a detailed bid for our review. I found them friendly and helpful so I purchased a new electrial panel from them using an Angie's List special and am waiting for them to schedule the installation. So far, so good. Stay tuned.

Affordable Electric was at my home in less than an hour. He went to work quickly and fixed the problem. He even showed me the cause of the problem and how he fixed it. There even was a discount for Angieslist List's members. I demand would hire them again.

Aaron arrived exactly on time and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We will absolutely use Affordable Electric in the future.

Nick and Aaron professionally, tactfully, and kindly trained us in on the process of hiring a professional for home repairs, since upgrading the electrical was our first main project on our first house. There was a fair amount of mystery-solving about what was connected where in this 114 year old house. They helped us learn about the state of our electrical system and to understand our house's infrastructure better. I gave them a B on quality because in some of the places where they worked on the main level they left scratches or chipped paint around replaced outlets. The tradeoff is that they tried to work quickly and efficiently to keep the cost down. AND they thoroughly knew what they were doing as they brought our house up to code. The work was done as two separate jobs, with a follow-up visit to make sure we were satisfied and had all of our questions answered and potential next steps figured out. I appreciated how the guys were deliberately approachable, earnest, and humble during this follow-up visit.

The entire job was well done, paced great and the crew showed up perfectly at time ready to go with everything they needed. We had to change our plan for what we were doing on the fly because the radiant heat unit which had just arrived a few days prior from a family member of ours, had to be installed as a 240v and that wasn't known at the time of the bid but they rolled with the change and made a new plan for how to get the entire project done. That change was our(home owners) fault because we thought we had all the right info but they still finished on time and were very flexible. Two thumbs up! They were punctual and professional and I will be having them back for future projects we are planning!

I was replacing a GFCI for my backup sump pump and had problems. We'll I took the cover off of the breaker panel, and when I put it back on, a screw penetrated one of the main lines and was making sparks from behind the panel. I immediately searched the internet for electricians nearby and found Affordable Electrics website. Just to be safe I signed up with Angie's List and did a search and Affordable Electric came up as one of the top results. Plus they had a coupon for 15% off labor. I called them in for an emergency service call. Aaron made it to my house in about 2 hours. He quickly assessed the situation and gave me some options for the repair. Option 1 was for him to go and pickup 7' of #2 copper. Option 2 was to replace all three lines with aluminum. I chose option 1 cause I figured it would be a little quicker and also preferred to use copper line based on Aaron's recommendation. All the while Aaron was concerned about shutting off the power because my other sump pump would quit running and cause the basement to flood. So I ran some extensions cords from a gracious neighbor, so we no longer had to worry about the flooding. Aaron was back in a half hour and had the new line installed within another half hour. I was very pleased with his service, honesty and professionalism. My 9 year old daughter was constantly asking him questions and talking to him and he was talking with while performing his work. I would defiantly call them back next time I need some electrical work done. Plus I saved $40 with the coupon, which was more than enough to cover my Angies List membership for the next year.

Nick did everything he said he would when he gave the estimate. I had four electricians estimate the job and he more or less tied for lowest price. There was a problem during the installation though. He made an honest mistake- wired our furnace to a higher voltage line that looked like a regular line and blew out the furnace controls and motors. I had to call a furnace repairman, and the cost of the repair was more than I had agreed to pay for the electrical work. I thought I might be out of luck, but Nick paid the full cost of the furnace repair. I was really impressed with his integrity. He even called the next day to make sure everything was OK and ask if we were square. I doubt many others would have called back in that situation. I'd use Affordable Electric again in a heartbeat.

I am very pleased with Affordable Electric. Nick was fantastic on the initial consultation as well as on the day work was completed. I would absolutely recommend and will use A.E. again for future electrical needs. We have an older house (1920) which can sometimes make things difficult but A.E. was quick to come up with solutions to the drawbacks that sometimes come with older homes. In the installation of the light on the three seasons porch we ran into a problem with running a line through the wall which ended up being the exterior wall of house (concrete). A.E. thought it through and came up with a plan complete the job. I was very impressed with their willingness to go the extra mile to ensure I was happy with the final product. My only complaint, which is minor at most and has no impact on my overall satisfaction, was that they left the house a bit messy when they were finished. In their defense it was raining the day they did the work and the constant need to go inside and outside (to install new meter) in my muddy yard didn't help their cause.

Aaron was very friendly and helpful. I difficult to discover problem required him to spend some time with me. He was excellent and very professional.

Nick explained what the problems were and what needed to be done to fix them and what the costs would be. He kept us informed every step of the way. He ended up having to rewire nearly the entire bathroom and outlets in the bedroom and hall because the wiring was old and unsafe. We are confident that everything was done correctly and is now in safe condition.

Tried to find the reason my light switch didn't work. They said it had to do with a ground switch in the room next to it. It worked for a short time and then went back to how it was before they came. It was in my basement so I didn't call them back in a timely manner, but it clearly was not fixed properly and they wouldn't come back out without the service call cost. I would have paid the hourly rate, but didn't want to pay for them to come out again. They wouldn't listen to me. I called another electrician and he fixed it properly.

Nick and his crew are outstanding! We had six rental properties at one time and he did work at all of them. Plus our own house. He did electrical for remodeling, replaced 3 different panels. He even came out in the middle of the night and replaced a faulty circuit breakers in a not-so-nice part of town. Pricing is great, he is personable and a hard worker. I love this guy!

Prompt and friendly. Had unexpected expenses but I expected some with an old house.

One of the two trees that we lost in the big storm the first day of Summer knocked down our electrical wire, mast, and severely damaged the electrical box. We called a number of electricians on Monday morning, all of which were extremely busy reconnecting people's power. Affordable Electric scheduled us in, in part because they are located close to our home. Nick was able to come over in the early afternoon to stabilize the wires to avoid the risk of fire. In the evening he and his crew began connecting the electrical box and mast, but had to stop due to an emergency situation for another family (sparking wires). As promised, they came back late the next afternoon to finish the job. My only concern and the reason I gave a B as part of this review--for price--was that we did not have a lot of time to comparison shop given the circumstances. Regardless, Nick and his crew were very busy that week, and acted with expediency and focus. They were responsive when we had to call for an update.

I called Affordable Electric two days after our 'Hello Spring' storms knocked a tree down on my backyard power lines, and another tree blocked the alley and took out the line at the pole. Xcel took care of the alley damage, but the rest was my responsibility. Affordable Electric gave an estimate range over the phone, telling me they couldn't specify till they'd seen the damage, and said they could be there within an hour. I told them to come out, and they were there in UNDER an hour. The price quoted once they saw what was needed was at the low end of the range they'd given on the phone, and they knocked more off because I had an Angie's List coupon, even though they were working 16 hours a day doing emergency repairs. The guys who came to the house were friendly, courteous, and genuinely concerned to get my house and other people's houses connected again. As soon as I was connected, they were off to the next place that needed them. And then I somehow lost the invoice they'd given me, and had to call them two days later. Tired and busy as they were, still working sixteen hours a day, they found time to mail me the piece of paper I needed for my insurance claim, and quickly, too. I've worked in customer service jobs much of my life, and these guys were outstanding. Next time I need any electric work done, I'll call them first, and don't expect to call anyone else.

Called to get an estimate and was told they could come out the same day. A few hours later the service man (Aron) called to say he would be there shortly. He called again to say he thought he had the wrong address, which he did, but showed up about 15 minutes later after getting the correct address. Aron was fast and efficient. We were charged $15 for the electrical box which my husband said you can get cheaper than that at the store so that knocked my price rating down a bit. Also they charge about $65 to come out to do the work. There's an added charge for every hour after the first hour. Luckily this was a very quick job .

Wow! These guys were great. The crew of three showed up an hour after I called them even with all the other storm damage in the area and told me that it would cost on the low end of the quote they gave me on the phone. They also told me that they would get the branch out of the live power line for me and would get the line hooked back up (Xcel showed up a few minutes and did this for them) but they offered which was great. They worked very quickly to get the new mast installed and hooked up for me in no time. The team worked great and had everything ready for Xcel to hook back up in under an hour. They also let me use the Angie's List coupon even though it was an emergency call because my insurance company was not going to cover the damages. I will be using these guys again!

Due to the design of our home it was a longer, more difficult job than they had anticipated. But they worked through it and didn't give up. In order to finish the job, they had to go beyond the time they allotted in the original bid. But we weren't charged any extra. Great guys-hard workers.

Excellent, Nick was great, the work was completed professionally and I was communicated with when there was any change or issue. Nick rewired my dryer in the basement at no charge when he saw that it was not to code. Nick came to the house on a Saturday to fix something, which was impressive.the job was completed timely and on budget. I will use Affordable Electric again. I have already recommended them to a friend.

I recently called him out for that. He took care of that. He just seemed really nice and personable. He cleaned up well. I loved him. The price was excellent.

When I called to get an estimate, the estimate came in surprisingly low. It seemed like the woman I talked to didn't know what she was saying, but I figured she would know better than me and that she wouldn't give an estimate if she didn't know for sure. Well I was wrong. But the nice thing was that Aaron called me a few hours before coming to my house to perform the work to clarify the project description and share with me up front that it would cost more than the estimate. Both Aaron and Nick came to my house, and walked around with me to discuss my options. My house is 100 years old, so we had to be creative at times, but they worked with me to discuss a few options before we landed on a plan. The cost was higher than the quote on the phone but Nick cut me a deal to help make up for the misunderstanding. Aaron stayed to do the work and he was really great. With my house being so old there were definitely bumps in the process, and he had to crawl through my disgusting crawl space, but he did all the work with a really positive, nice attitude.

We had a fluorescent light ceiling fixture in our laundry room kick the bucket a week or so ago. I've changed out all of our light fixtures over the years so thought this would not be a problem at all. Once I pulled down the fixture I realized it had been plugged into a single socket outlet. I removed everything and found more wires than one would normally find in a box. It didn't help that they were tan and black, spliced and simply put, former owners were DIY'ers gone bad! I called our regular electrician and hadn't even received a phone call in a few days so I went online to Angie's List and found some good reviews on Affordable Electric. I've seen their vans around town but that's as much as I knew about them. I emailed through the Angie's List site and I received an email back letting me know they could help and have someone out within the next day. I called to follow-up but did not leave a voice mail. I received a call the following day with a message saying they'd received a phone call from my number and wanted to find out how they could help. Wow, super impressed! Aaron arrived right on time this morning even with the temperature well below zero. He worked like a pro and figured out everything that was going on with the box and explained everything as to why I couldn't figure out which wire to connect. Even though the new light fixture wasn't going to fit the existing space because of the junction box and how the fixture was pre-drilled Aaron went above and beyond to fix everything so it would fit properly. I was super impressed with him and highly recommend this company to anyone considering electrical work. I will most definitely be contacting this company again for help updating electrical issues in my house. As for the other company, they still haven't called back, but no worries because Affordable Electric is going in my contacts on my phone.

Aaron arrived on time and completed the job in the estimated time. Due to small area up in the attic, the working conditions were cramped and uncomfortable. But still he completed the job efficiently and on time. We're pleased with the results and would certainly use Affordable Electric again.

I found this company on Angie's List. I called them at 2 pm. I told them that I needed a hanging light fixture removed from a very high ceiling and replaced with a chandelier. I asked if they could do it today. I was told Yes, that they would be able to do the work in the late afternoon. Aaron arrived at 5pm. He was professional and friendly. He got right to work so that he could finish the job in an hour. He put the new light fixture together, hung it and wired it within an hour. He gave me the 10% discount for being an Angie's List member. I was mostly impressed by Aaron's focus on getting the job done right and quickly to save me time and money and his demeanor: very friendly, knowledgable and obviously a pro. It is nice to know who to call for next time.
