This was a big area, and we were anxious to get the job done quickly. Mario was responsive to our phone calls and was able to give us a bid on the spot. He explained the job thoroughly. He emailed us copies of his license and insurance upon request, as he did not have that to show us at the time of that visit. He expected to do the job in two days, although it ended up taking more time than that . He started promptly each of the three days, and worked a long day by himself when an expected assistant didn't arrive. The odor from the solvent ( to remove the mastic) was less than we expected, and he used a lot of ventilation, which was helpful. His bid was significantly lower than the other that we had obtainedI hope we never have to deal with this problem again, but if we did, we would certainly call him again.

They did a really good job. I was pleased with the service.

Two guys came in and were very efficient; the took out the pipe, sealed it back up and left. They did nice work on my relatively small job. I will use them again in the future.

Wonderful! They were very nice on the phone, very punctual to their appointment. Talked us through the whole process and what they will be doing. Very neat and clean. They also came back the next day after we found one more hood after they had left. Hopefully we won't need to use them again, but will if we come across any more asbestos!

I have very high praises for their work. My house was built in 1956 so it's an older house. It was a very fair value. They were really great. I picked them from Angie's List. I selected this company because the guy came across with the highest rating. The other thing that I liked is that he's an older experienced gentleman. It's just he and his partner who actually do the work. He does not drop off a crew and come back and see how they are doing and that was very important to me. Another person had written that in the report and I didn't want a guy who supervised a bunch of young inexperienced or less experienced people. I wanted somebody who was actually going to do the job. He and his partner were very professional and did a good job.

The work went well. The basement was left clean. I had to chase Mario for the air sample report which worried me slightly, but when I caught up with him he apologised and emailed me the report which looked to be in order.

I initially had trouble playing phone tag with this provider, but we did eventually get an appointment set up. The guy who came over was quick and assessed the situation pretty well, and he described what the process would be in fairly good detail. He initially offered one fee and then quickly offered a lower price if we allowed them to leave the adhesive on the floor and remove that portion ourselves. Unfortunately we determined it would be a more reasonable plan to put flooring over the toxic flooring, but I would have considered going with Affordable Abatement had we gone forward with removal.

He was professional, fair and got the job done under somewhat challenging circumstances. I would absolutely recommend him and will be using him again.

I called and left a message at the main company phone number on a Monday morning, explaining that we had water in the basement over the weekend, pulled up carpet, and found asbestos tile underneath. I asked for someone to call us back to schedule an estimate for removal. I didn't hear anything back, so I called again on Thursday, at which point Mario told me he hadn't returned my call because he had had two voicemails on Monday with the same situation (flooded basement due to heavy rain, carpet with tile underneath) and he thought the messages were from a husband and a wife regarding the same home. He talked to the man who left the other message on Monday and assumed that he didn't need to call me back. This company had been highly recommended to me by a co-worker, so I went ahead and scheduled an estimate the next day (Friday). Mario and his coworker arrived 15 minutes early for the scheduled estimate. They did not present a very professional image. Mario didn't have his own tape measure with him -- he told a long and rambling story about leaving it in the other truck, and something about truck repair -- and had to borrow ours to measure the space. He didn't answer questions very well -- again, long and rambling. Also, at one point the other man interrupted something Mario was saying, and Mario took him to task about interrupting. The other man went out "to sit in the truck" for the remainder of the appointment. Mario also, in talking with my husband, rather than glossing over the incident, defended his point of view about the interruption from the other man. Mario presented us with a written estimate for removal of tile and mastic on the spot, and said he would follow up with an email with a revised estimate to include the cost of removing the remaining carpet. We never got an email. We did not follow up with him since after the estimate appointment we decided we would not be hiring him. His estimate ended up being about $550 lower than the next lowest estimate we received, but we couldn't compare directly since Mario's estimate did not include carpet removal and the other estimate did.

Mario was very polite and professional. We called him on Monday, he came and looked at the room on Tuesday, and by Thursday the work was complete. The floor looked perfect and their clean-up was very thorough.

The whole process was great. Mario was super responsive about coming by to give us a quote, the price was right and they did a great job. Highly recommended.

STRONGLY RECOMMEND. Mario was very prompt in returning my calls and came out to see our project immediately. He provided a bid on site and his price was substantially less than any other we got. We added pipe abatement to our bid and he still gave us a great overall price. Affordable completed the entire project in one day and the quality and service were outstanding.

Mario, owner of An Affordable Abatement Company, was prompt at returning my call for an estimate. He came over within a few days to take take samples and give us a written estimate. It was important to me to have the abatement done ASAP and Mario fit us into his schedule within a few days. Mario and his crew were very punctual and professional. The solvent used to remove the mastic had a strong smell that lingered throughout the house. Mario left the negative air machine at our house overnight to get much of the smell out as possible. Mario and his crew are really good with dogs too!

Mario came out and gave us a quote. It was the best price we got and we set up a date for his workers to come out. Everything looked clean and great afterwards--all the tiles were out.

I am a real estate agent and got estimates for my client for removing his old gravity furnace. I found both companies I called on Angie's List. Mario's estimate was less, and from our conversation I could tell he knew what he was doing and would do a good job. Mario coordinated his work with the company that was installing the new furnace. Mario was on time and my client was very happy with the work. The price was as stated.

Mario had an estimate in my hand within a few hours of my initial phone call, and it ended up being the lowest of the three I got. He was very responsive and able to work within the time frame we had before the new boiler was going in. Mario obviously knew what he was doing and went about it in a very professional way. I was very impressed by everything he and his team did to protect our floor from getting damaged during the removal of the old boiler. I think they left our basement cleaner than it was before they did the work.

Mario gave me an estimate that was much lower than the others. All the companies presented paperwork indicating they would follow a similar procedure to remove the tile and adhesive. I liked that Mario talked with me and not AT me about the procedure, taking careful time to explain the steps he takes for safety, chemical usage and refuse disposal. He was very accommodating to my schedule for the removal. They showed up on-time, set-up equipment and safety area. Very conscious and respectful of my stuff and space. Cleaned-up the tile and floor in a flash. Did the job within the estimated window as promised. See the photos - removed several layers of tile and old floor adhesive.

AAACo was not the lowest bid but I tend not to take low bid. Mario impressed me with his knowledge of the regulations governing asbestos abatement. Given the time it took to complete the project I think I got the better end of the deal. Mario didn't cut corners but completed every thing he said he would do. He values a verbal agreement as much as his written contract. When done, our basement was cleaner than at the start. We were very pleased with AAACo and would highly recommend having Mario bid your abatement project. How often does one see the owner of the company as the first to arrive and last to leave - let alone the hardest working member of the crew.

They came on very short notice and they were very responsive to our call. They worked around the company that we had to do our floor refinishing. The flooring company could not take out the flooring because it had asbestos and this company was great about working with those contractors to get this job done. They showed up at the right time and everything worked out quite well. It was a very pleasant experience.

This company did a very good job. They were reasonably priced, responded quickly to my inquiries, and were very accommodating to what we wanted. We had to fit asbestos removal into a larger basement remodel project, and it was somewhat complex how it would be done. Mario was flexible in doing things the way that would work best for us. The plumber/boiler company we were working with had recommended a larger asbestos removal company who charged twice as much. I'm glad that we didn't go that route. We got exactly what we needed for a much more reasonable price.

I called Affordable at about 11:30 AM and the person that answered sounded half asleep. I explained my problem with vermiculite insulation and he asked me if I could call back in 5 minutes so that he could get a paper and pencil. I did not call back.

Mario was great, extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions very capably. He was the lowest of the three estimates I received. He was prompt and courteous. However, when I hired him he was very busy, and had hired some other guys to do the work. They cut the pipes in places up in the floor joists that made it very difficult for my heating guys to re-attach the new pipes to my existing radiators. They also gouged my walls in several places when removing the pipes from the house. So while I saved some money by hiring Mario's company, the cost to repair the damage his workers caused brought his estimate in line with the others I'd received. My advice is to make sure Mario is on site during the entire project. This would have mitigated the problems I encountered

They showed up on time and spent 2 days setting up and removing the furnace, and one full day removing the siding. Their estimate of the time involved was accurate. Two really tough jobs and they remained in good humor and maintained a professional attitude through it all. Given such a messy job, they left the place pretty clean.
