Michael arrived at my house 30 minutes after I contacted him and fixed the lock before closing. If I could give a A+ for responsiveness I would. The price was reasonable and the work done well and fast. I very much appreciated Michael bailing me out of what could have been a bad situation. Thanks

+ -1 moreHe arrived on time and did a wonderful job with replacing 6 door locks (+ dead bolts). Michael had a great attitude while our family and friends came in and out of his work space. He worked at length on a hot summer evening. Most importantly, the locks were effective and secure.
Description of Work: Michael replaced all of our locks the day we closed on our new home. He was flexible with our short notice request.

+ -1 moreI had a great experience with this locksmith! My special needs son had locked himself into his room and I tried one other locksmith before finding A-Lockman. The other locksmith recommended him and gave me his number. Well, he explained to me right away over the phone how I could unlock my son's room from the outside (it worked!) and then a couple hours later he came to change my lock and was very reasonably priced and friendly. I was very happy with his service and would use him again!

Description of Work: This man was referred by Jessie Lesmeister of INTEGRITY LOCKSMITH. Mr. Lesmeister felt that Mr. Mattern was better qualified to deal with the unusual problem of lost keys for a 31 year old Imported Italian sport car. Mr. Lesmeister was MOST helpful, asked very appropriate questions, was very cordial and professional! A couple days later, and promptly at a pre-arrranged time, Mr. Michael Mattern CRL, of "A -LOCKMAN" arrived at my home in St. Paul from St. Louis Park, MN, complete with a well-equiped mobile vehicle. He was as pleasant and helpful as he had been on the telephone. He went right to work, but the task took about three hours. I was with him the full time and he didn't stop. He made at least five phone calls, especially to peers to help with a computer search for data on the missing keys ... which had been made 32 years ago. While reproducing the the trunk key proved easier, the trial and error of making the ignition key de novo was most tedious. After at least 20 trips between the car and the "shop" in Mr. Mattern's van, he was finally successful with starting the car. He made several duplicates as requested. I would recommend this highly skilled man to anyone. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again ... though it won't be for the same car! Telephone for Mr. Mattern:952-544-3399 612-659-0990 (cell)

Description of Work: We received prompted service. I believe the owner's name is Jason. Jason was professional and quickly identified and resolved the issue. We were not able to reconnect the lock on our front door. There was a special tool needed to make the mechanics work properly. He identified it quickly and fixed the lock in just a few minutes. Nice work!

+ -1 moreDid a great job. He came out quickly and repaired the broken rear door with a metal sleave, replaced the door handle, dead bolt and rekeyed the front door and dead bolt. He made my Tenant feel secure after a break in. I will use again.

+ -1 moreMichael was about ten minutes late, but did call to say he was on the way. He was friendly and funny! He gave us advice on what types of locks to use (single versus double-locking deadbolts) in regard to safety (as in getting out quickly in case of fire) and security. He took the time to chat with us about what locks would work best for our needs on our 4 storm doors and was patient and informative. We called him on a Saturday and he got to our house in two hours, what quick service! My only complaint was that Michael did not clean up after himself despite having left wood shavings on the floor from drilling a hole in the door.
Description of Work: Michael replaced a doorknob on a storm door, moved a double-locking deadbolt from one door to another and replaced that lock with a single-locking deadbolt, replaced the lock core for a 3rd door, and re-keyed four locks to the same key.
