Description of Work: we were able to schedule an appointment for installation of our digital/programmable thermostat within days of purchasing this Big Deal. The service person was knowledgable and efficient plus spent time answering any questions he had and taught us to program the thermostat. The greatest part is...the advertising is true. The summer was warmer and this winter is a bit colder than when the unit was installed in the spring. We can see the difference in our bills--significantly less--both for cooling and heating than prior to the programmable thermostat.

Description of Work: He dissembled the burners from the furnace, and clean them up. Clean the flame detector. Also calibrated the furnace so the amount of gas/air was optimal to produce a minimal amount of CO. He was very informative, and answered all my questions.

Description of Work: I paid $59 for the "big deal" and never heard from anyone. The service was never scheduled . I was never contacted and Angies list has not responded to my request for a refund. The "big deal turned out to be a bad deal"

Description of Work: New humidifier (installed) was prepaid - but not even a call from the contractor yet ! A bit slow contacting us --- but installer did a terrific job, was punctual and very good to work with!

Description of Work: I received three bids for a new furnace. Although Ductworks was not the cheapest, they were the best value. The only company to offer me a modulating furnace that would easily pay for itself over a few years. Also, the only company to offer a 10 yr labor and parts warranty. The sales rep was not as good at selling me as the other companies, but with the use of the internet, it was easy to compare brands and efficiencies of furnaces. They ordered a different exhaust for the outside, which I requested, at no extra charge. The guys left some dust, but it was minimal. The price above includes rebates. A small company compared to the others, which is nice to know. Overall a positive experience.

Description of Work: They did an air conditioning tune up. Their service was fine. I didn’t have any issues. The work was done as expected.

Description of Work: He checked the inside unit, cleaned the outside unit but found a worn contactor relay. He showed me the old part and replaced it with one of better design. I don't remember what the Angies List charge was but he billed me an additional $60 for the contactor which seemed a little high since it was an easy and quick repair and he was alread inside the unit for cleaning and inspection which was labor covered in the original service.

Description of Work: Furnace and A/C were operating okay but hadn’t been checked in years, so I got Angie's List 'early-bird' coupon deal for furnace and A/C tune-up. Furnace tune-up included verifying all electrical/mechanical operation, heat exchanger/flue safety, and cleaning & adjustment of the gas burners. A/C tune-up included verifying all electrical/mechanical operation and proper refrigerant charge. They emailed suggesting a time/date. I promptly called and got the date changed because we had construction people in then. A week later, a serviceman arrived on the original date, which was inconvenient. He replaced the filter, cleaned, and made adjustments. The burners were burning rather yellow and are now nice and blue. He recommended replacing the thermocouple which was worn and didn’t press when I decided to wait. He seemed to do everything stated for the tune-up. He didn’t mention any other problems or if the A/C needed refrigerant so I assume it didn’t. He was working from a check sheet but didn’t provide a copy, just the invoice with an O2/Co2 number. It would be nice to have a little more info. He was prompt and professional and I feel that I definitely received a good value. I have no complaints except of the scheduling hiccup.
