 + -1 moreExcellent experience - highly recommend. Laptop would not boot up. Suspected hardrive crash. Called Steven Schoo (technician, owner). Steven picked up the PC, diagnosed bad hard drive, Recovered most data from the bad drive, replaced with new drive, upgraded windows version, restored data and returned to my home 9 hours after picking up. If you want trustworthy tech with fair pricing, this is the guy!

Description of Work: Microsoft tried to install Windows 10 by remote access and somehow I wasn't able to connect to the internet after that. After spending days on the phone with them, not able to understand half of what they were saying, they told me there were driver issues also. They couldn't figure out what was wrong and told me to call someone.

Description of Work: Our ASUS desktop computer had been giving us an error message for what looked like a hardware problem, and the computer kept shutting itself off. We called Steve and he returned the call within a half-hour, and said he could come over immediately. He came and diagnosed the problem quickly (a damaged USB port). We chose not to repair that port, since the PC has several other USB ports and we didn't need this one. He deactivated the port to stop the problem (excess current) from recurring. He solved that problem so quickly that I asked, since he was here, could he do something else? -- We had been wanting set up a wireless network connecting our 2 laptops and printers with the desktop PC, and had tried to do it ourselves but failed. He was able to network them, and in the process solved a mysterious problem with our router that had been preventing the networking from working. He was here for about 2 hours and charged $95 for the job. Steve was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, and explained everything and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend him, and hire him again for any future computer problems.

 + -1 moreSteve did an excellent job on the installation. He also answered (and continues to answer) my many questions when I have them. Great service, great knowledge, and I'll continue to work with him in the future. I've also recommended him to someone else whom he did a great job for.
Description of Work: Steve helped me select a new desktop computer and then installed it for me, He showed me the differences with Windows 10. He also password-protected several of my files with zip-files (I requested those), changed my anti-virus software, set up my backup, and changed my browser to Google Chrome. He also changed the anti-virus and browser on my laptop.

Description of Work: I needed information removed from an ancient laptop with Windows XP and transferred to my new laptop, which he did. Also, outbound emails on my new laptop wouldn't send, and he fixed that. He also upgraded my laptop to Win10. He is very knowledgeable and personable, and explains in non-technical language what he's doing. I recommend him without hesitation for your home computer tech support needs. | |Oh, he also removed the hard drive from the ancient PC (and left that with me), and is taking the rest to a place where they repair and build laptops that they then sell for next-to-nothing to people who would otherwise not have a computer. I loved that!

 + -1 moreSteven came to my house. He diagnosed several issues. Ordered all the necessary parts, installed them. He had to install all the drivers for printers, etc. Made sure there were no virus issues. Installed any and all updates including windows 10. This 8 year old computer works better now than when i bought it from Dell.
Description of Work: My hard drive and power supply crashed in my computer. Steve was able to recover pictures, data,email etc with his talents. He installed an internal ssd hard drive based on his recomendations. Boy was i glad i listened to his recommendations. This computer faster than ever before.

Description of Work: I used them last week and he was excellent. He was here for about an hour and a half. I had to have a modem installed through my carrier, Comcast. I contacted him and he was over the next day. He was very skilled and knows what he is doing. I wished I could give him an A+. He is personable too and is a young professional.
