Jim and crew did an excellent job. This tree trimming adventure began when we had one of those and quot;crews that are in theneighborhoodand quot; asking if I was interested in getting my trees trimmed. The name of the business was Northern Tree and Landscaping. Originally the guy quoted me $1225 for the work listed above, but said since they were and quot;in the neighborhoodand quot;, he would do it for $1,000. When I told him I'd like to get a couple of other estimates he then said he could do it for $800, but that was as low as he could go. I asked him to stop back in 45 minutes so I could think about it, and he said he would. When I told him I was going to hold off for now, he said, and quot;ok, but if you want it done later, the cost will be $1225!and quot; This brings me back to Jim and his crew of two more guys. My daughter in Bloomington had a good experience with him, so I called him. He comes out, looks at the entire job and quotes me $400. They did a great job, were here for about 2 1/2 hours and their work, trimming expertise, thoroughness and clean-up were outstanding. I would highly recommend them particularly to anyone in the southwest metro that is considering getting some trimming done.
Description of Work: Raised the crown of our Linden tree in the front yard as well as removing the deadwood and also raising the crowns of our 2 large locust trees in our backyard.

Never heard from The Tree Guys again. Have left many voicemail messages and sent emails however no reply. Their answering machine clearly states their business name. The BBB of MN advised they are still in business. Some type of reply would be appreciated.
Description of Work: Dropped off price quote with estimated time frame for job completion.

Description of Work: My next door neighbor used this provider. I let them use my driveway to remove debris, however I did not give them a permission to park their grinder and to grind branches etc. I asked Erick to move the machine but he gave me many many reasons why he couldn't. He even asked me where he should move the machine and I gave him few options and one was to park in front of my next door neighbor's yard. After 15 minutes of him knocking my door asking this and that, he finally moved. The thing is that the grinder was so loud and I have a child with disability that would not tolerate it. Even after telling him this, he continued giving me a hard time. I usually let thing like this go because it's wasting of my time. But when a business is this unprofessional and unethical, people should know.

.They did a really good job and cleaned up after themselves and cleaned up after themselves. I would tell anyone who wants to use the Tree Guys not to worry as they did not damage any of the other trees and cleaned up after themselves which I was worried about. They were really nice guys and did a very efficient job.
Description of Work: . The tree guys removed a tree. We had a green ash and there were two trees growing together and we already had a branch falling off and damaging the roof.

A bid was provided to me (put in mailbox) before I had a chance to speak to the owner/arborist, I called back and asked to meet him so I could clarify what was needed. I received 3 other bids for same service and this bid was half the other bids. Communication was difficult as the phone I called was never once answered and the call backs were at odd times. I ultimately went with this company because his recommendation/advice was similar to what I wanted (and the price didn't hurt either). Some other companies had recommended drastic changes such as removing half my Silver Maple tree due to a healed crack and cutting down my small old apple tree. I was up front with each company that I wanted to nurture the apple and knew it was old, but some still insisted it needed to removed (it is not near any structures, it will not harm anything). So when Jimmy (owner/arborist) said he was happy to trim the apple I was happy and when he up-sold adding a cable high up in the canopy on my silver maple for a very reasonable price I also agreed that was something I was willing to pay for. We scheduled the job a little over a week out from the bid date and the day of, Jimmy and 3 other members of the company showed up around 10a. They worked with ladders and ropes (no bucket), removed a ton of large limbs without damaging 3 separate power lines and 2 fence lines. I watched most of this process, which I am glad I did, there was one branch that I wanted removed and they initially only trimmed. Since not every branch can be marked ahead of time, it was worth my time to be there to make sure I had everything changed that I wanted. All my other initial requests were honored without me reminding anyone. I chose to keep some of the larger pieces for my fire pit, they trimmed them down for me and moved them. They removed all debris and chipped it in the front yard and raked and cleaned up front and backyard after themselves. Jimmy was really helpful in giving me recommendations for other trees in my yard, some of which are apparently invasive and should be removed to allow others to flourish. Overall I am VERY happy. Considering how happy I am with the work performed, I can't imagine paying 2-3 times as much as i did with one of the other companies who gave me bids.
Description of Work: Extensive trimming/pruning and raising the canopy of decades old Silver Maple and cabling into the canopy, pruning of apple tree and Norway Maple. On site bid provided, scheduled a week out. Clean up after was excellent. Received 3 other bids from top 3 Angie's List companies, each bid was appx $650 without adding the cable that this includes.
