+ -1 moreI received 2 hornets stings on my side deck on Sunday 8/13/08...then discovered a large hornet nest on the other side of our deck...had not had any problems till that fateful Sunday... Checked Angies list on Monday morning...called about 9am and was promised that someone would be out to take care of the problem about 12:15pm. John arrived about noon...explained everything he was going to do...gave me a couple handouts and he did what he said he was going to do...took care of the problem in about 15 minutes. I was very impressed with John and the service he provided.
Description of Work: Removal of a large hornet nest that was located on a wall of the side deck...which was located after a couple stings from said hornets.

+ -1 moreJon set up an appointment for the following week and, as before, arrived right on schedule, went directly to work. He treated the entire outside foundation as well as the inside in the basement. He went around the entire garage and the perimeter of my lot. Since this treatment is done in two applications, he let me know that he would be back in 3 to 4 weeks to apply one more treatment. He called yesterday to ask if today would be okay and since they only do the outside, I needn't be home. They have been here and gone today and will bill me..
Description of Work: We were noticing small piles of what appeared to be sawdust on the top row of cement blocks in the basement and worried it may be carpenter ants. We'd also noted an unusual number of ants and sand in rather good-sized piles from under the stucco on front stoop. Jon Hagel came to the house to check what we were seeing, arriving right on schedule. He said what we were seeing were "cement ants" which I'd never heard of and he discovered Carpenter ants in a log wall in the back yard as well as in a dying birch in the front yard. He didn't think there was evidence of ants in the house, but I elected to have it treated nonetheless. He was very good about explaining the way all these ants work and what he would do as far as treating was concerned. By the way, I had already lined up a tree removal service to remove said birch.

After the job was done he told me that he would be more than happy to make a return visit if their were any further issues.

Came on-time and explained why he thought it happened in the first place and what we could do to manage it in the future, did the treatment, and reiterated that we can call all season and he will come back for free if the ants reappear.

+ -1 moreMy daughter woke up from a nap to dozens of ants crawling all over her window frame. Jon answered the phone immediately and set up an appointment for the next morning. He treated my daughters room for the ants, treated the kitchen for the little ants we just started getting. Jon also treated our basement where there was yet a third kind of ant attracted to the moisture in our house. He also treated the area around the exterior base of our house. Jon did an excellent job of telling us what to expect after he left.

+ -1 moreI talked with Jon Hagel over the phone a couple of times about what I wanted. Instead of coming only to do an estimate, he said he'd come and let me know the price, then I could decide. Instead of Jon, Larry Egbert showed up at the scheduled time. He didn't know about the moths and didn't talk to me about the price. Larry explained a lot about pest control and answered lots of questions. He scheduled a time to return for outside work due to the rain. I will need to talk with Jon about the price.
Description of Work: Treat interior and exterior for spiders, ants and pantry moths. Rid back yard of moles. Begin an every three month schedule of spraying.

+ -1 moreI really liked the guy that came out. He communicated well and was prompt and professional. He laid traps very thoughtfully and told me how to manage my problem. However, he wasn't able to identify where they were getting in at which was disappointing. So we'll probably have this problem again in the future however I don't know if this is a problem that anyone could solve. I would consider hiring them again, I'm just not sure.

+ -1 moreSee above. He also inspected the inside and the outside of my house to see where the entry point might be and blocked those. The price was within the range quoted to me over the phone.
Description of Work: I actually talked with a person when I first called, and it was Jon, the owner. We set up an appointment time for the next week. He was punctual, informative and completed the work within the time constraints that I had. I haven't seen any new evidence that his work was unsuccessful. He told me it would take some time, so I may not have seen the full effect yet.

+ -1 moreGood job! Jon came in and checked out the house. Found a few openings and sealed, then left traps and bait for any mice still inside house. Mice are now gone. I tried sealing the house myself several times with limited success. Jon's trained eye spotted some areas I apparently missed.

He explains things well, and is very thorough in his explanations and work. He knocked down several wasp nests and sprayed the entire house. I got on his year-round program.

+ -1 moreLarry was great, he showed up right on time and spent his time to make sure that the job was done correctly. While we were out in the garage, I told him that my daughter and I are scared to death of spiders so he sprayed for them while he was out there. Larry put us on a quarterly plan to take care of mice and bugs, well worth the price we will have to pay. This time though, we only paid for the mice extermination.
Description of Work: We were hearing mice in our walls in the basement again and seeing evidence that they were back. I sent an email to Jon since he had been out last Winter to exterminate. Larry came out the next day and plugged up more holes in the foundation and elsewhere, baited more traps and while he was at it, sprayed for box elder bugs and spiders.
