Midwest Pest

I was very impressed with Midwest Pest! We recently purchased a "fixer upper" and had a mouse problem. Larry arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and professional. I followed him around the house and he pointed out potential entry points for the mice and explained what he would do to block them. There were two areas he noticed would be an issue, but they were not in places he could access, he suggested a few economical solutions for us to use to block those areas. He set up bait in our basement and discussed where the nests were probably located in the insulation. Additionally, he gave us a time line of when we could expect the problem to finally resolve itself and suggested that we continue to trap the mice aggressively as we had been doing in addition to the thing he did. I was very impressed with the service we received and would recommend them.

It took a few days, but eventually the yellow jackets ceased going in and out of the area treated. We called about a second treatment, but agreed to wait a few more days to see if the yellow jacket activity ended. It did... we were happy!

Had used them once before to get rid of a yellow jacket nest in my garden. Very thorough and professional. I decided to sign up for there annual maintenance program. This was the first visit for the annual program. Arrived on time, had everything he needed. Very professional in dress and manner. Sprayed the inside of the house for spiders, he knew exactly where they liked to live and hit those areas well. Sprayed the outside of the home for other pests, again, very thorough and professional. I think the charge was very reasonable considering how much he did and how long he took to do the job. Definitely will continue to use in the future. Very satisfied.

Went fine but the title of the deal was not accruate and the provider stated that he does not provide service for wild animals and that I should request a refund from Angie's list

The experience was good. We can't use them because they couldn't come all the way except for the one time. The guy showed up when he said he was going to show up and he sprayed. He explained to my daughter what would be dead and what wouldn't be dead. The most of the stuff died. She liked him a lot. He did the job that he said he would. It appeared to be a good result from it. The price was great.

The technician did a great job. He called on time & told me when he would be arriving. The tech explained exactly what he was going to do. He relayed to me if I had any further problems (which I did not) to be sure & call them as they would be back at no extra charge. The cost was well worth my peace of mind.

This is the second time I have used Midwest Pest.The first time was for bee removal about two years ago and this time for hornet removal.They show up the same day as called,fast and very efficient and courteous service.The results are so fast!I would recommend them to anyone and if needed I will call them again for sure.

Midwest Pest responded quickly and was very informative and helpful with our problem. However, since the mice were not in the house (thankfully), they were not able to provide service. They suggested I contact Angie's list for a full refund.

So far everything has been great. We are very pleased with the service we received and I have a very hard time understanding how anyone else could complain about the service at Midwest Pest. He was courteous, thorough, careful and very professional. The previous owner had paid a big nationwide pest place to exterminate. They had them coming every other month and there was no evidence that they had done anything at all. My confidence in Midwest Pest is as high as it can be and would STRONGLY recommend to anyone with a pest problem to give them a call.

Called left message & was called back within promised time. Set up appointment to come out next morning to check out problem of ants. He looked over the problem and told me that the problem was that the ants in the back of the house were outgrowing their nest & were looking for a new place to live. He sprayed inside & out. He told me it would take about 5 days for them to disappear from within the house. Have not seen them inside since the middle of July. Very professional. Happy with the results & would use them again if/when needed.

I purchased a big deal from Angie's List. The experience was great. They came back during the Spring when I saw a mouse again and they came back to take care of the problem without any extra charge. They came back twice to make sure everything was completely taken care of. They were good.

So the coupon thing went great. but then I called for another issue (an animal noise in my wall). I wanted to use this provider since i had tried them using a coupon and wanted to give them additional work at regular price. But they never returned my call.

Midwest Pest was my second call. The first place couldn't get out to my house until the following week. Because I had an opened up exterior wall (water damage, with wood rot and ant infestation), waiting until the following week was not an option. I first talked to Joe on 7/2 and he was really patient, understood the issue and that I needed to find a wall repair person to coordinate with the extermination. I located a repair person the next day, called Joe and he said "oh, I can be there in an hour". Couldn't believe it. He came right over, figured out the problem, investigated my entire property and neighbors to either side (checked their trees for ants) and then took care of spraying everywhere (including the neighbors trees). He also pointed out that there was evidence of mice in the garage and placed some baits for no charge. The price for the initial treatment seemed high but it was the same as the price quoted by the first place I contacted. Joe will need to come back for a second application (another 100.00) but then there is a guarantee for 3 years. I was very pleased with the quick and courteous service.

Jon Hagel answered my call and of all the calls I made he was the most informative - asking me to describe the wasps and the nest, then telling me about paper wasps. He could come the same day. He came on time, got rid of the nest- turned out this was a new one, next to what I had been looking at, which was last year's nest - who knew? He also explained where wasps generally gather on homes and what to look out for. He adjusted the storm window so that this would not happen again. Note: he had to go out on a protuding roof to do this. Normally, this could be easily done by us, but the location and ignorance about wasps made this difficult to do. Midwest Pest provided very good service. He also checked the perimeter of my home for holes, found one and gave us copper netting to close it up.

So far so good. I have seen about 6-7 ants in the house since the service, but we were told that's to be expected for first 1-5 days.

Went great - Larry showed up on time and we haven't had any additional problems with ants. It was pricey, but was competitive especially since they guarantee against carpenter ants for 3 years.

They found areas where there was mice getting in and took care of the problems and we haven't had any issues since. We would use them again if we needed to.

I hired Midwest to address a recurring problem with cockroaches at a 50-year-old apartment building. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and were pleasant to work with. Best of all, I haven't had a single complaint about roaches since they were here!

They did an excellent job. The technician was very professional and likeable. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Fantastic results, achieved mostly bug free home; was pleased with the safe products used.

We called 3 cos. from Angie's List. The other two described a process that included examination of the house and then placing traps or bait everywhere in the house. There was a prescribed price. Usually, follow-up trips were included. This didn't seem to fit our experience since we had seen no activity, no scat, no food boxes invaded (one of the places in question was a pantry.) Joe from Midwest Pest was willing to do an assessment for a set price and then let us decide about next steps. He seemed straightforward and reasonable. He came on time and examined the inside first. He spent significant time going around the perimeter of the house (partly in snow) and gave us a drawing showing potential spots where mice could get in. He found one place inside with droppings, but said they could be old. The spots outside were in locations we can treat ourselves if we decide to. He put two bait traps in the basement just in case and showed us how to use them, also left information about mice. We decided to leave it at that.

We contacted Midwest Pest after spotting mice in our house. They responded to my email less than 24 hours later and they were very flexible with my schedule. We did have a small mix up on the schedule time but I overlooked this issue after the excellent service we received. It took 3 days from my first contact to the completion of service. Larry spent over an hour at the house inspecting the foundation; internally and externally. He also explained to me the year round treatment that they provide after I mentioned that we have an ant issue in the summer months. He took the time to listen and respond to my questions and concerns. We have an infant and 2 dogs in the house so I had plenty of questions on the treatment and risks. I was very happy with the service provided and would recommend Midwest Pest to my neigbors and family members.

Overall very well. Checked all basement drains, checked for any burrowed areas, checked for rat droppings, suggested fastening all drains down, filled one burrowing area with cement, filled traps but did not set, removed all d-con. Came back two days later to set traps after rats got used to them. Killed two rats and hope that was all. Guarantee for 30 days. ill be back when snow melts to check outside.
