Walk on Wood - Professional Flooring

The story: we moved in to our home in June 2014. We hired Erik to refinish our oak floors between the closing and the arrival of the moving truck. First impression was great - he was friendly and professional and was able to perform the work on short notice. He sold us on a newish product (Rubio Monocoat) and got to work. Throughout that process, he and his staff remained professional and very friendly. They were a pleasure to work with. When the work was finished, he was open and honest about a couple problem areas that didn't finish to his satisfaction. Notably, the floors were noticeably lighter near the baseboards where they had to use hand sanders rather than the big sander. Erik assured us this would blend as the floor continued to cure. He even offered us a discount because he himself was unhappy with the results in a couple areas. We were thrilled. Fast forward two years. The light areas never blended as promised and are still noticeably lighter than the rest of the floor. We knew the floors needed to be refreshed periodically anyway and we wanted to know if anything could be done about the light areas, so we began the frustrating process of trying to get Erik to the house to take a look. Three missed appointments with no call or explanation and half a dozen messages with only one returned call and we're done. My last message was to let him know we'd try to find somebody else who could keep an appointment and return a phone call.

Our floors were in pretty good shape but the original "builder" coating was showing signs of wear. We have two golden retrievers and they come in the house pretty dirty. We could see the spots and places where they laid down. The new coating does not show the streaks and paw prints as easily and its a quick swipe with the mop to clean up. It was difficult to get a time in Walk on Wood's schedule, but once we did we were very happy with the job.
