LCS Lawn & Tree Service

I spent quite a bit of time reviewing companies to treat my lawn and submitted a request for a bid from LCS on their website. They advertise that they have a no hassle satellite imagery estimating system. I received what appeared to be an automated email shortly after my web request. I have not heard from them in over a week. I narrowed my selection down to two companies just waiting to give my business to away. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend working with this company.

I called LCS last fall because I was looking for a new service, had a specific problem to address and LCS rated highly on Angie's list. That rating is justified. Jim N of the Minneapolis office came here last year to look at a dead area of our lawn, suggest a cure and provide an estimate for future fertilizer service. I had two treatments last fall, but the dead area did not respond. Jim came back this year to take another look. While he was unable to provide me with a reason for the dead area, he offered to come back and repair the area with black dirt and seed to see if we had a positive response; Jim offered this service without charge. I am pleased to say that we now have grass growing on the "dead" area of our lawn and hopefully it will flourish there. I think the service provided was above and beyond the ordinary and would highly recommend this LCS. The rest of our lawn, which was treated with a spring application, also looks healthy and green. I signed up for a full year of service this year and received a Angie's list discount of $25 for my first application. I think LCS deserves a POH nomination.

Although they missed the estimated dates of service, they exceeded our expectations for quality and did yard clean up that we did not expect. It is too early to estimate weed control results, and our yard is troublesome so this may be daunting.

Brock was the technician that came today. He also is a certified arborist. This is my first spring in MN after moving from North Carolina. I was very impressed with the service I received from Brock and LCS!!! Brock took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions. He made suggestions on caring for the trees on my property and did not push for me to buy other services LCS offers. I did ask for quotes on some other services that I might need. Brock did the early spring application to my yard. He then got his hand held blower to remove the fertilizer from the sidewalks, driveway, and curb for the environment. I am so glad I chose LCS Lawn Service. I see firsthand why they have such good reviews!!!!!! I would definitely recommend LCS Lawn Service to anyone who is looking for this type of services.

We signed up with LCS in the fall. They assessed the quality of our lawn (which was thin, bare spots and weeds). They applied two treatments and the lawn is very green this Spring. I understand that the lawn will take a few years to recover. I expected a letter or something in the winter or spring to sign up. But I didn't receive one. When I called, they said that letters were sent to repeating customers AND they get a 10% discount if they sign up before March. Apparently I wasn't a repeat customer because I signed up in September and wasn't eligible for the discount for 2015. I was disappointed in no discount, but I was very satisfied with their products and services. When I received a quote for 2015, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a 5% discount if I paid for the complete package by the end of the month. Perfect! Good products, services and customer service!

They were prompt, courteous, efficient and a very good value. Will use them again.

They are quite good. We're happy with their work and have used them for two years.

I am using LCS for a secon consecutive year as I was pleased with the service. They are very professional and knowledgeable. More than willing to come out and treat trouble spots for no additional cost. My lawn looks better, but still not as good as I hoped. Some problems can not be fixed in one season.

They were good prompt and courteous and on-time. Will update in Spring on how the grass has come up.

I've had them for years and I love them. They are very good. They are prompt, personable, and reliable. They charge $200 a year and it's really a deal. They never raised the price on me.

Did an excellent job. Only problem they were suppose to call me the day before and they didn't.

I contacted LCS Lawn Service ~12/3/13; my call was returned promptly and I was informed that the routes were all booked for the season; no recommendations for another service in the area.

They were very friendly to work with. They were professional and every time they came out they did a great job. Their prices seem competitive and they were easy to work with. They called us as our gate was locked one time and they scheduled to come out after that.

Basically did what they said, when they said. It would be nice if they hauled away grass clippings and fallen branches. Also payed a little more attention to details, in both mowing, and snow removal. Overall I am pleased with the work and also they are very good with communication.

We have use them for 6 or 7 years and they are outstanding. They are professional and punctual. The guys are real sweet and I have never had any problems with their work. They are quick to respond with anything we need and we would highly recommend them.

Courteous, professional service.

They showed up on time and completed the work very quickly with their riding lawn aerator machine. They were careful about watching out for our new sprinkler system heads. Our lawn is 'breathing' deeply now. :)

The LCS staff is courteous, arrive exactly when they say they will and perform the services to high quality. I have used other Lawn Service vendors and LCS is the best I have used.

I am extremely happy with LCS! Unfortunately, I had to cancel their services because I got laid off and could not justify the price now that I had no income and a lot of time on my hands. They were here every week, I got a note on my door every time stating what they did/didn't do or might need to get to next week. They spent about 45-55 minutes mowing my yard and for $52 a week, I was very happy to pay that. I never actually saw them in person but my yard was always done on time and I never had even a blade of grass left on my driveway. Highly recommended.

Have nothing but high marks for LCS. Anytime I have a question or concern they responded to my emails within 24 hours. We have used 2 of the other national lawn service chains and we are by far most pleased with LCS. We are looking forward to the coming years working with them.

Outstanding. Came on the day they promised and were very professional. I checked the chemical treatment they used (I was employed in the chemical industry) and they used a very high quality treatment that will be very effective. Many services just use a watered down chemical that just kills the tops of the weeds and makes the lawn look good for a little while but then they have to comeback and re-treat. Not the case here with weed treatment. I'm very excited to see my lawn next spring.

It has been great so far. I called LCS, they contacted me right away. I was quoted a price for each of the services (3 fertilizing applications, aeration and over seeding) the first service was scheduled. They called before each service was to be provided. And if the service needed to be postponed, I received a phone call in advance an another was scheduled. I like this provider, my lawn has started to look better already.

You'd have to search far and wide to find a worse company for lawn fertilizations. We had to call them several times to come out when they promised to, and even when they gave us a date, they were still several days to weeks late. I could understand if the weather was bad, but we're in a drought and there's been no rain for weeks. Somehow, whenever we'd call to find out when they were coming, they were going to be there the next day. We had the distinct impression they were only coming out because we called and reminded them to. The latest incident that has us tearing our hair out is we scheduled an aeration. We have an irrigation system, so we marked each sprinkler head with a flag. We were told they'd be out on a Tuesday, so we held off mowing. Tuesday came and went, and they never showed up. We had to contact THEM in order to tell them the crew never showed up, and then we were told they'd get to us "this week or next week." The correct response was, "we'll have a crew there first thing tomorrow morning." We have the feeling it's a combination of poor planning (either not enough workers or they underestimate how long jobs will take) and poor communication. We pre-paid for our service, so they've had our money for months. In the end, I can't say that our lawn looks so much better and it was worth the hassle. Please don't use this company; you deserve better service for your money.

I've used LCS in the past with good results. This year, they're helping repair the damage from my dog, getting rid of the weeds, and helping me restore a lawn. I like dealing with them - they answer questions promptly, tell me what and why they're doing something and generally are trying to educate me on proper lawn care. :)
