This was the best experience I could have asked for. Our dream home and forever home was a complete success! Jason let us be apart of the process, and was very knowledgeable and honest. Our home is very unique all handicap accessible doors, hallways, bathrooms. This is the home we want to grow old in. He explained the pros and cons of ideas we had. Jason did all of the leg work getting all of the necessary professionals in and out getting jobs done. Jason and his team are very clean also, there was always a clean work area no matter what they were doing. Very professional work!! Well worth the money!!! If we need something done in the future Jason will be the one we call!

My experience with Sharp Edge Construction was great. Told me what needed to be done when it was going to be done. Was always keeping up to speed on what they were doing. Job looks great when they where done wouldn’t recommend anyone else l.

Overall, things went well. Over the years, we've moved multiple times around the Midwest and have had a number of projects done in the houses that we've lived in, so we've worked with a wide range of contractors. Jason is great. He takes his work very seriously and wants you to be happy with the outcome. He is very professional and responsive to calls/texts. His cabinetry and painting guys did an awesome job. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their work and they want you to be happy with the final product.

Not professional in his customer interactions, and he was negligent and I thought in the end he was quit rude.

The job was too big for them and I would consider them.

Excellent Service. Made appointment for estimate and work to be performed - it was honored on time and on budget. Big highlight - he make high quality choices on products used. He will tell the pros and cons of products and tell what he would use on his own home. Excellent work. I highly recommend Sharpe Edge Construction and would use them again.

Prompt and professional reasonable bid. Considering service per estimate

It went well, especially given some chaos on our end of the project that had nothing to do with Jason. It took a little more than a week, and afterward, the inspector was very impressed with Jason's work. My only caveat in my review is that Jason was sometimes a bit later than expected, often because he had to travel from so far out of town. Otherwise, we had a very positive experience.

Ultimately I had to cancel the job as it turns out I'll be moving soon and it would be unlikely I'd get my money back out of the project. However I felt I needed to write a review for Jason as it has been unbelievably difficult to get other contractors to return phone calls, much less come out and give a decent bid. I contacted 7 different contractors for this job. Three got back to me, two submitted bids, and only Jason's, with Sharpe Edge, was reasonable. It's a sad day when I feel the need to write a glowing review for someone that just managed to show up and treat the job with some professionalism. But as no one else could even manage that, Jason and Sharpe Edge deserve credit for it. I wish I could have gone ahead with the job to see their work, but I shudder to think what kind of work would be done by people that don't take their business seriously enough to even return phone calls.

Good we left for a prior appointment came back and everything was done. They did a great job.

My review here will focus on our attic remodel, as it was the most extensive and the best indicator of the quality of Jason's work and what sets him apart. We hired Jason to help us with an attic remodel back in the summer 2012. To save money, we decided to serve as our own general contractor and hired Jason based on a recommendation from a friend. Jason visited our house, walked through what we were looking to do (I had prepared my own layout on a simple computer program called Home Designer by Chief Architect), and Jason gave us a bid for the work in short order. We had requested a labor only bid to keep it simple on all fronts, which Jason was fine with. We agreed to use his lumber yard and they would invoice us directly. Our attic project was pretty involving because the City requested sign-off on the plans by a structural engineer, and ultimately required considerable structural reinforcement due to the size of our floor joists (2x6) and rafters (2x4), as well as some design elements we wanted (vaulted ceiling in master bedroom, skylights, etc.). Jason worked really well with our structural engineer and was able to be nimble when we had to make changes and didn't nickle and dime us with change orders like some builders do. Jason gutted the existing space (it had been finished back in the 40s), which included dealing with lead based paint in areas; Jason followed all the protocols, which was important, not only because it is the law but also because we had one small child and my wife was pregnant with another on the way. Jason did all the structural reinforcement work, which was pretty extensive (doubling or tripling up floor joists, sistering 2x6s to 2x4 rafters, steel beam in floor, and support posts on new footers in the basement, etc). Jason laid the subfloors, did all the wall framing, installed two new double window units (including having to cut existing stucco to expand hole for one unit), installed all doors (including two pocket doors), and did all finish carpentry work, including 8" baseboard, 4" casing with back-band, etc.. This is not an all inclusive list. Basically, Jason did a lot... and everything he did was great quality. Jason is a great carpenter and a rare one at that, because he can do anything from framing to the finest finish carpentry. However, what I really appreciated was the way he worked closely with me to keep us in the loop on where things were add, made sure I was involved in major decisions, and was a invaluable source for advice as I worked with the other trades. He invested his time, patience, and energy in the project... truly takes pride in what he does... and treated my house like his. This is what truly sets him apart and why I keep calling him back to help me on my new projects. Long story short, Jason is great and I have and will continue to use him on future work (though hopefully I will be done for a little while now!). Thanks Jason!!

I am extremely happy that I found Jason to remodel my house. I have found that he treats my house as if it were his own. With a lot of remodelers you will find that the person you meet with is just the sales guy and that you will never see him again. When you hire Sharpe Edge Construction, you can rest assured that it will be Jason onsite doing the work to the highest of standards. Jason takes the time to build things the right way. He pays close attention to detail and I really appreciate that he thinks things through. When he builds something he is thinking seven steps ahead. Countless times he suggested that we do something slightly different because it would work better and/or save money down the road. Jason also takes time to educate. Every time a decision was to be made he was there to help me understand the available options and their pros and cons. He is also very good about understanding the financial impact of decisions. Jason did a fantastic job of making sure the HVAC, plumbing and electrical trades did their work correctly. Several times he was there to stop them before they went down the wrong path and set the schedule back and incurred unnecessary cost. I was very impressed by the way he worked to solve problems when others had long ago given up. Through the course of my remodel I came to rely heavily on Jason’s judgment. I often sought his opinions and advice. If you ask him what he thinks, he is happy to share his vast experience with you. Other thoughts: - Jason is very reliable. You can count on him to be there and finish what he starts. - Very good at communicating. I never had problems reaching him on the phone or through email. - He is honest. - If he makes a mistake he takes responsibility for it. This is refreshing. - Very respectful of my family’s home and privacy. - Easy to get along with and work with. - When he is there, he is working. You will not find him spending all day on the phone. - He gets along very well with my young children. - Value pricing. - Fully licensed and insured. I would not hesitate to hire Jason again for any work, big or small, that I need done at my house. I strongly encourage you to consider him for your home remodeling project.
