Quick, efficient. Thought he could have been more thorough on the overseed.

They did a beautiful job. They were done - start to finish - in less than an hour, and that included the cutting, pickup and cleanup. Our tree was charming and enjoyable, but it had passed its time to come down, and we found out, becoming a danger to all passers-by, cars, children walking by, etc. It would not have lasted much longer without falling down on its own. The men were courteous and efficient.

Urban tree did a fine job and provided the pictures that I requested. I did ask that the maple tree be 'trimmed' up a bit more and the guys were 'on it' immediately! Excellent communication! I would definitely recommend Urban Tree to friends and neighbors~

BE AWARE -- don't use this company! If you ever have any issue with their work, they will not fix it, despite all their promises upfront!!!! UTree did a landscape job for my next door neighbor, but went through my property to move all their material without asking my consent first. They then promised to fix the damage on my lawn, but all they did was to sprinkle some grass seeds at the end. The soil in that area was compacted due to them moving tons of boulders through, and now water puddles up there -- nothing would grow. I contacted them in the spring trying to resolve the issue, and they promised they will but never did, and now the manager, Matt, simply blocked my calls. They may be very nice to work with when they try to get your job, but think about what will happen after you pay them!

I received several estimates for this project and Urban Tree and Landscape brought the most knowledge and suggestions for resolving water getting into the basement. The project went really well and quickly, they were done with the work described above in a day. With a crew of 4 or 5 they were able to bring in all the dirt needed for the leveling by truck instead of a bobcat, resulting in no damage to the part of the yard that wasn't being affected by the leveling. They went above and beyond by re-mulching all garden beds to the match the one front garden bed that they leveled out. When they replanted existing shrubs in a new location because of the leveling and grading work they also mulched those plants in their new location. After watering the sod on the first day, one area of the leveling did sink down more than expected. I contacted Matt and they came to add more dirt and fixed the issue the next day.

The company is split into two areas - tree removal and landscaping. The removal of the roots went well, they had a broken stump grinder but kept me appraised of the status of my job and made it a priority when they fixed their machine. They came by one day when I wasn't home and did it -- I couldn't even tell them had been in my yard! I had new hostas surrounding the old bush and they were untouched. I also had new sod and everything looked perfect, so I was impressed they got that machine up to the house and didn't trample on anything. It was a really small job for them, but they didn't treat me like I was a small job. The landscaping aspect went well. I was able to have a long conversation with their head landscape designer and she has extensive knowledge of rain gardens and planting techniques on hills to maximize water flow, etc. I'm not using the exact correct language that she used, but I was impressed with how much she knew. I only needed new shrubs though. There were a few hiccups in the job, but they were professional and made it right which says a lot about them as a company.

They were wonderful. They did a great job, they were here on time, cleaned up and it was good value for the money. The guys were really nice.

UPDATE: I got a call from Matt at UTrees and got lots of words and NO action. Towards the end it was a very unprofessional experience to say the least. He toyed by committing to come 3 times in same week but never showed up. AND he ACTUALLY EXCHANGED WORDS TO INSULT! If you think you will get any respect by them just wait for a while to see their other side. I worked with UTrees for number of years and have relied on them primarily because of contact sales person. I have relied on them for tree trimming service in my last house and also in my new house. So I would say a relation of 5+ yrs. UTrees does a good job when they show up and the sales person I was working with you have always been reliable. But UTrees has no sense of customer retention or dedication to service. You get a feeling that they are fly by kind of service more like door-door service which you cannot turn to next day. Its extremely difficult to talk to their folks get on their calendar. This spring they have kept me waiting up until now but never showed up. In fact looking back in years of my relation they never show up in one call or one appointment. You have to call atleast 5 times for them to finally show up. If you desire long-term relation and reliable partner i STRONGLY URGE TO LOOK ELSEWHERE.

We are in the process of having the back portion of our yard regraded after having 2 massive maples removed. Our quote is to have the back portion of the yard graded, a large raised garden installed and sod placed. So far, Matt has been wonderful to work with. He is always quick to respond to us either by phone or email and has offered good advice at an reasonable cost. He is confident he will be able to get to our project within the next couple of weeks (weather pending) as opposed to months like some other companies we inquired. He also had little/no reservations to working with our builder in a separate bid to further fix our grading through the rest of the back yard. I'm excited to see how it turns out!

Did a great job with this task. Service provided during the Winter. Although we knew that the provider would have some issue cleaning up branches from snow, we found several large branches which made us question whether the clean up effort was a bit half-hearted. However, great work otherwise.

It was a good experience. Greg Stone was the person who came out. He was just extremely nice to work with.

It went well, they cleaned up very well and did a really nice and thorough job on our beautiful Maple tree.

After last summer's storm, Urban Tree was the only company that would call me back. And they did so in a hurry. They were on time, reasonably priced and took out an uprooted tree stump (my brother and I had cleared the rest) It was a fairly large tree and they got out the entire stump and were even kind enough to put some of my hostas back in the ground. I know this sounds silly, but that storm caused a lot of damage to my home and I lost a lot of things. It was very touching to me to have someone try to preserve something that mattered to me. I will use them any time I need tree service.

Matt said that he would schedule the work to start the second week of April 2014. Matt did not show up for the March 26 appointment at 10 AM nor did he call. When I emailed him and asked him what happened he said he forgot about the appointment. I felt that the project that I had hired his company to do was not a priority for him. I emailed him back and requested a return of my $1500 deposit. Matt has returned my deposit. I don't feel that this is the same company that I worked with in 2013. I can no longer read recommend this company.

Pros - Quality workmanship - Quick response when I first contacted them for a quote Cons - Poor communication and responsiveness. I called a couple times after they performed the services with follow-up questions. They never called back or attempted to contact me. This is they only thing that would hold me back from using their services again.

Urban Tree and Landscaping was fast, professional and efficient. They thoughtfully thinned out the interior of my silver maple and a large limb that was hanging over my home. They cleaned up well and left virtually no signs of their presence, other than my newly groomed tree. Andy, the contact rep from Urban, was a joy to work with. He personally reviewed the procedure and then followed up to check that all was done well. I would highly, highly, highly recommend their services to anyone in the greater Twin Cities area.

Excellent. Andy was quick to get out and give a quote and was almost immediately available. Work was done above my expectations and their price was reasonable. Would definitely use them again.

I needed to have a very large tree stump removed and the roots ground. Kyle came out and told me it was a very big job and would cost $2500 which would include removal of the debris and about $600 to $700 for soil to fill in the hole. When I looked surprised and told him that I already had gotten other bids for much less, he said he'd be surprised if I could get the work done for less than $1800. In the end, I had several other bids, all of which came in for between $400 to $600 for doing the entire job, but not bringing new soil. When I asked Kyle to e-mail me the estimate, it came in at $2200. Needless to say, I went with a cheaper company, and they were able to fill in the hole with the debris. Be sure to get multiple quotes! I would expect some price variation from company to company, but to charge me 5 times the the going rate is vey disappointing from a company that gets so many great reviews and for a relatively small and straightforward project.

This was the first estimate we got. Initial estimate from this guy was several hundred dollars more, but he offered to reduce the price to $3900 if we would sign on the dotted line that day. We were concerned about safety so we did. We had buyer's remorse later in the week when other (much lower) quotes came in. We felt we were pressured into committing by an overzealous salesman. We canceled because we didn't have the money at the time and realized we could have the job done later, for much less $$, from another contractor. To their credit, Urban Tree & Landscape didn't give us a hard time about cancelling and graciously accepted the cancellation. (We still haven't had the tree removed several months later but are having it done next week by a contractor we didn't get a hard pressure sales job from. )

My yard now looks great! It is no longer a place where people want to dump their trash as they drive by. The trees that were growing on top of each other are gone. The remaining trees can now thrive and grow. We bought this house 3 months ago. Our new neighbors are coming over and telling us how nice the yard looks. They are thanking us for cleaning up the mess. Thanks Urban Tree & Landscape!

They did a very thorough job. They didn't just remove limbs as much as they sculpted the tree. You certainly get value with them, for sure! I'm very pleased with them and would use them again.

After Gabe was out, not all of our neighbors received their bids via email, which Gabe said that he would send. We emailed him and asked him to resend them, and even called and left him a message to resend them. We never received a phone call or email back. We decided as a neighborhood to go with someone else. There are now 9 of us neighbors that are going with another company.

Submitted online request for estimate. Received call back promptly the next business day to setup an appointment. Kyle provided the bid along with a detailed analysis of the tree. Extremely knowledgeable and explained in detail all aspects of what would be done during the process. Decided to put off the pruning work a few years due to cost and Kyle's opinion on the overall health of the tree (no major risks at this point in time). Would highly recommend!

Very well. Mike the boss and his crew were prompt professional and courteous while doing work on the contract. They worked with onsite contact to complete the project per the contract. We asked them additionally to do a landscape plan to replace to old bushes and shrubs in a three year plan for the future which they are completing. Highly recommend Urban for any landscape project.
