Taplin Soft Water

Water softener was timely installed and works fine. The issue is that the water softener installed had a plastic dial that was not in English. My home was a new construction in 2017 I contacted them in late 2018 asking for them to replace the dial that was not in English. They said they would put me on the schedule for the next week to replace it. They never showed up and I forgot about it. I recently reached out to them again to replace it, and they noted that service was completed in 2017 and asked why I didn't reach out before. I said that I did and they didn't come out. They asked me to send them a picture, which I did, and they proceeded to tell me how to operate the unit. I noted that I didn't need help operating the unit, I wanted a unit that would be in English, and directed them to the picture where the plastic dial had setting in a foreign language. There was some confusion as they thought I was talking about the display, and they proceeded to explain to me how to operate the display, and I continued to try to explain the display was not the issue, but rather the plastic dial. The conversation became tense, and there was shouting from both of us. The conversation ended with the owner saying "I don't have time to deal with this bull***" and the call ended with him asking me if I "forgot to take my medicine this morning." Professionalism aside, at the end of the day my personal expectation as a customer is to have something installed in my home in a language I can understand, and a company that will stand behind their product and make things right. The owner's response was "they make these in 17 different languages." When I tried to press whether I can get one in English, he again started talking the portions of the product that had English on it without addressing the actual problem. Overall a frustrating experience. No complaints about the initial service or the product itself, only the lack of professionalism, not following through, and not standing behind the product.

Perfect. Rick was very quick to respond to my inquiry. Scheduled for a week after initial contact. Rick was going to be on vacation, but his son takes over while he's away. Arrived early and since the plumbing was mostly in place, they were done in 45 minutes.

I have a very tight space to install and he found a great solution. tested the water and completed the install. found a problem in another area (older home, that didn't have a water softener with hard water - it's bound to have problems) but worked to find a work-around fix for that day and offered a contact for plumber to help fix the problem

My old water softener broke down. After reading the positive reviews on Angie's List, I gave them a call. Rick, the owner, came to my house a few hours later, removed my old water softener and replaced it with a new Fleck model. I can't believe how responsive and efficient he was. I can't speak to how well the unit will work because it was just installed, but I am very impressed by this company and highly recommend them.

Ron in Woodbury made my day. 1) He showed up a few minutes early... no 4-hour window!!! 2) Used clean, straight Pex lines... no messy jumble of pipes to save on materials. 3) took the time to show me the actual parts -- including the part numbers at Menards -- I would need to self-install a whole house purifier in the future, and offered to stop by at no added cost if I ran into trouble. He then did the unexpected. As I was about to pay, he challenged my seven-year old son to a game of chess... tied game, teaching him throughout. My son still talks about it. Great job.

The owner showed up early, confirmed that replacing the filters on our existing system was not an option, and installed a new RO system quickly and efficiently. He was personable and professional, answered our questions and made sure we understood the operating procedures.

Rick was able to schedule an early appointment and arrived earlier than expected. Went right to work. Rick explained to me what he was doing and trained me on the operation of the softener. Completed the removal and installation efficiently, with no mess.

Rick was early for the appointment and very efficient in removing the old system and installing the new one. It took less than an hour to complete. He gave me a discount for being an Angie's List member and being referred by a friend. During the initial call he asked questions to determine the appropriate size of softener. When he was finished installing the softener, Rick explained the unit to me and was able to answer my questions. I was very pleased and would recommend him to anyone who doesn't want to be talked into something that they don't need.

Rick was responsive to my request for an appointment and showed up on time, early in fact. He had my existing water softener problem diagnosed in minutes as he disassembled it in no time flat. He offered to fix it or install a new one. Due to the age of my water softener and the probable breakdown of the exchange resin, I opted for a new one (under no pressure from Rick). He had the new water softener installed in no time. This was truly an A-rated experience.

I wrote to Rick asking whether a water softener could be installed in our very tiny mechanical closet. He responded very promptly!!! After suggesting that he and I speak on the phone, we discussed the problem and Rick recommended a product that would work in our limited space. Rick even placed a follow-up call a few days later. Although my husband and I chose an alternate solution to our leaky softener, I would not hesitate using Taplin Soft Water in the future. Rick was extremely professional and responsive. :)
