Donna eventually sold the family business to her daughter, Denise Hedden, and the company has continued to grow and flourish ever since. In 1991 we joined forces with Superior Construction Services. Founded by Denise's husband, Randy Hedden, Superior Construction Services was born out of the need for quality restoration contractors and works hand-in-hand with ServiceMaster Restoration by Hedden. 50 employees. Service Master was originally hired by our insurance company to assess the damage of a leaking toilet (leak through ceiling to basement and into walls), professionally dry everything out and tear down. We proceeded to hire them to do all the repair work as we were very impressed with the professionalism, punctuality, communication and quality of work. Throughout the entire process, we were informed every step of the way of what was happening during the day (while we were at work) and what we could expect to happen the following day. The quality of work done was superb - my only complaint is later I found paint drips here and there in the walls - but nothing too bad. Not only did we get our basement fixed (drywall replaced, repaint, texture ceiling, replace 3 interior doors and carpets cleaned) - but we took this opportunity to upgrade our bathroom in the process since the floors and the toilet had to be replaced anyway. Service Master was happy to locate items for us (showing us tubs that they found and giving us prices) or take what we found/bought and use. We had a clear estimate from beginning to end and only one surprise during the process that caused the estimate to go up -- but we would have had no idea without opening the walls. I would DEFINITELY hire this company again if I had a need.
Description of Work: Updated bathroom with new flooring, new tub, new shower base/surround, new toilet, new lighting and fan, paint. Replaced basement drywall, re-texture ceiling, paint, 3 interior doors, carpet cleaning -- all stemming from a toilet leak upstairs.

They were very good and very prompt. They kept us in a loop every day. They were done in like a week. They picked up after themselves and they were clean and neat about their work.

Three men showed up on time and assessed the work they needed to do and listed additional corrections that we had not noted before. They also determined that the paint the original contractor carelessly got on the ceiling would require the ceiling be painted. That was not part of the original contract and they took care of it with no additional charge to me. The work they identified was completed on time per the schedule we established and the completed job was excellent. Sheet rock removal and replacement, mud work, painted, door replacement and new door installation, new molding. After a very stressful and unsatisfactory experience with the first subcontractor, ServiceMaster made it right and I will use them again.
Description of Work: Service Master subcontracted the work to Todd Alquire. The result was not professional and unacceptable. I addressed the quality of work and some work that was not done. ServiceMaster coordinators came out to the house and told me that I was being kind in my evaluation. The work they saw was not up to their standards. They took notes and told me that someone would be in touch with me within two days. They also shared that Todd Alquire's company would not be doing any work for ServiceMaster again. The next day I was contacted and a schedule was put in place to correct and complete all the work that was supposed to me done.

We had a sewer backup that went unnoticed for a long time.
Description of Work: They came in removed all of the contents, identifying which could be recovered, and which were beyond saving and hauled them away. They removed 4 feet of sheetrock throughout the whole basement, steamed and cleaned the remaining structural pieces, and floor, and then high pressure clean the floor. Everything was then treated with mold prevention compounds.

When they arrived, they got right to work. After I signed some paperwork, I asked what they needed me to do. "Nothing, we'll do it all. You don't have to do a thing." Wow! I thought I'd have to move all the knick-knacks but no, they took care of it. The plumber was there at the same time and from what I could tell, there were no conflicts. That day went very well and they were out within 4 hours. Each subsequent day, they came to check the progress, to see if they could salvage the dryway (which they did). Those were the only days there was a problem because they didn't arrive when they said they would. The guys were always pleasant and professional and apologized for being late. I would definitely hire them again for this type of work.
Description of Work: Dried my basement from 2-3" of standing water. Removed and hauled away the carpeting. Put everything (including a pool table, furniture, shelving units) up on blocks to facilitate the drying. Removed the doors and baseboards. Ran the dehumidifier and several fans for 4 days, checking on the progress daily. Submitted paperwork to the insurance company.
