+ -1 moreOrder date: 07/06/2016 Completion date: 07/20/2016 The Company received the part 1 day late (18 vs 19) and they came the next day to do the job. Also some more parts replacement added brought the original estimate of $653.78 to $789.70. Other than that, every thing else went fine.

Description of Work: A cable snapped on my electric garage door opener. A friend recommended Garage Door Service & Repair. The technician was there same day ready to repair, but inspecting the door, he recommended a replacement. The door had been damaged at one point and patched, there were cracks through the metal up and down over the patch, and he indicated a bad door like that would continue to stress the cables in the future. Recently, a property manager who does some work on my duplex property had noticed the door was bouncy in use and said similar, and that guy wanted to add a brace to shore it up, which I didn't want to pay for as a preventative fix. This tech indicated that it was a cheap Menards door that was self-installed, and that the style of springs and cables were old and not what they used, and with the cracking pattern already in the old door, it wasn't worth spending money to try to save it. Since I've had various problems restoring this duplex due to home handyman jobs done wrong in the past, I decided to go with a new garage door. I felt the price was reasonable, and I since I host high-end tenants through AirBnB including a garage parking space, I can't afford to have a breakdown with a guest where the garage door is locked down. The tech did an excellent installation, looks great, works perfect.

+ -1 moreThe guy who repaired the door was friendly and polite, and got the job done in about a half hour. Their web site advertises "fast same day service" right on the banner, so I sent an email on Tuesday evening asking to have the door repaired on Wednesday. They couldn't get out until Thursday evening. Fair enough, they're busy, but that doesn't live up to the tag line. I'd still call them again though.
