Staff are friendly and seem knowledgable. Low rating is more related to trust. I believe expectations from local companies is to create a solid working relationship where the customer receives their goods / services in exchange for a reasonable and honest reimbursement to the company. I believe I have been taken advantage of on 2 occasions nows. Approximately 2 years ago they provided opening and closing services for my pool. They were timely and I feel they did a good job. The second year they provided services for my pool I received a phone call several weeks after the opening and they stated they needed to have a return visit to fix a flow sensor that was noted to be bad at time of pool opening. I was told that the service tech had disabled the bad flow sensor (meaning cut the wires to it) in order for the pool to work. They wanted to send a tech back out to replace the sensor. I feel that this should have been disclosed at the time of opening but applaud them on their follow up. The issue was that they wanted to charge me more than $400 to do the repair. A generic flow sensor costs about $20 dollars online and even the most expensive flow sensor (Hayward) runs about $99. Installation involves unscrewing the old one and screwing the new one in and plugging it into the control panel. I replaced it in about 10 minutes. This interaction made me feel uncomfortable and I stopped using their services. This year, I had a pool light go out and needed a replacement. To be fair they were the only local company that had this light in stock. I figured there would be a steep but fair mark-up but I should have done my research before purchasing. To give an honest review - I was told the price before purchasing! I commented on how high the price was and they said that is the price these types of lights go for. Well, their sale price for the fixture had a minimum of a 70% markup. - even if they had purchased it online so their markup was even higher than that! I just don't understand how you can trust a company that would be so willing to up-charge a customer such a ridiculous amount. I even called and emailed to see if they can review the price I was charged given such a significant price difference between other dealers. The response I received was "the last thing I believe we have been is unfair as we have been upfront with you about the price from the beginning." I agree they were upfront with the pricing but never expected their markup would be so unfair! I question the integrity of a company that would so willingly take advantage of a customer.

Don’t bother. Don’t bother getting decent customer service. I was quoted one price when scheduling the service (light replacement) and was charged something entirely different for the part. The part shouldn’t need replacing in the first place however it did. They charged my credit card after the service was performed without authorization and unbeknownst to me the part was $800 more than what they initially quoted me. I called and got nowhere, they said I must’ve misheard the quote and they always charge credit cards. Just stay away and save yourself the headache.

Run away and do not turn back. The worst pool experience and company I have ever dealt with. I have owned 2 pools in my lifetime and my experience with Atlantis Pools was absolutely horrible. From start to finish and after (service / warranty), DO NOT do business with this company. Many of the posts below I totally agree with and are true. Run!

This was a VERY PAINFUL experience. Our sales guy Nick was a snake and a con man throughout the whole process. He misrepresented, cut corners and outright lied to us several times. He told us what was convenient for him (whether true or not) and couldn't remember commitments he made, stuff we ordered, specifics we wanted and statements he made. We signed the contract with him July 23, 2020 (I so wish we had done more research about what a slimy company this is) - he told us we'd be swimming by Labor Day at the latest. Initially he blamed the delay on the City of Chanhassen - he told they were 6-8 weeks out - when I called the City of Chan to verify I found out he lied - they had never heard of us nor Atlantis Pools - he had NEVER even put the permit in their hands!!! He also lied about our diving board order, liner order, water jets order, side equipment order and several other things (including reusing a rather expensive boulder wall for our landscaping which ended up just burying because it was easier to cut corners which caused us to incur significant more landscaping expense). They finally turned on the pool May 21, 2021 - 10 months later and 9 months late! The project still isn't done now (June 24, 2021) - still waiting for our diving board, concrete work clean-up, pool cover repairs, liner repairs, pool cleaner replacement, etc. Now they've refused to do any warranty work because we haven't paid our final bill (only 10% of the total and according to the contract final payment isn't due until project is complete - so in other words they had 90% of our money up front for a project that still isn't done 11 months later) and we are disputing the final bill amount (they are charging us for stuff that should have been in the original price as well as their mistakes). We have hired an attorney.

Stay Away From Atlantis Pools!!! I found them on Angie’s list, where I’ll be reviewing next. They were highly recommended by Angie’s List for some reason. I asked them to open my pool, the cover sticks so you have to walk around on it to unstick it. They blew the motor out on the pool cover then told me I needed a new one. A month and $1000 or so later they install the new cover motor. I have 4 homes and all of them have pools so I’m very familiar with pool companies and what “excellent service” is. This is NOT!! I email them that I’m happy to pay for high quality pool service as I’m very busy and need reliable partners. Stacy responds with “we spent 2 hours at your pool and when we left it was working”. The Service light was on, the pool was absolutely filthy and the pump I replaced thru them last year no longer runs! I call and speak to Ray who says she’s sorry for the bad experience, and will have a manager call me. Stacy calls an hour later telling me they did everything right and no longer want me as a customer because I was so upset and their crappy half assed service! They sign their emails Atlantis Pools, no name. As impersonal and unprofessional as it gets! Stacy evidently skipped the customer service seminar “the customer is always right”! Ray didn’t, she acted accordingly and was calming. This company is poorly managed and a rip off stay away!!

Never again! This company has to be the worst out there for a pool cleaning service. You pay a huge fee to have your pool opened for the summer. Yet, I return home and the pool is full of debris and leaves, how is that?! They said they did their job and yet I can’t use my pool! Stay away, they are horrendous!

BEWARE, CAUTION! STAY AWAY FROM ATLANTIS POOLS!!! Now that I’ve been informed the pool is no longer under warranty it’s time to leave a review... Some of the problems in no particular order include: - flooding of the pool equipment and backyard due to improper grading during pool excavation (i asked for a re-grade and to raise the pool equipment and they refused and wouldn’t call me back about it...during this time the pool equipment and heater sat in 6 inches of water each time it rained which resulted in the pump motor rusting up inside thereby causing the breakers to continually pop, (the pump will need to be replaced...damage to the heater is likely as well) - I spent thousands regrading the yard and moving the pool equipment this fall after Atlantis’s failure to follow through on their error because it had to be done - they went through three liners, first one was ordered in the wrong color, second one leaked because of improper backfilling and breaking pipes (with giant clods of clay instead of sand or gravel as backfill,) and the third and current liner has huge wrinkles in it that they told me could be fixed by holding my breath under water and using a plunger after getting the pool to 95 degrees! I have a heart condition and this actually makes me laugh, I have friends that offered to try this for me...! - the pool cover still doesn’t close properly, on average about every third time i have to get in the pool and help it close, which is kinda scary when a lightning storm rolls in and I want it closed ASAP! - the fountain feature on the diving board sometimes does not turn off with pool cover closure and will run with the pool cover closed which could empty the pool into the yard in a matter of hours and completely destroy the cover in the process - when the pool was emptied to replace the second liner 40,000 gallons of water was dumped into the private golf course behind our fence (i didn’t know this until golf course management scolded me for doing it) extremely embarrassing for me! - when they stamped the concrete around the pool they had mud in the stamping mat that left porous pits and stains in several places, they told me concrete is imperfect and i need to get used to it - they chipped several concrete pool cover blocks in their many maintenance attempts to fix the cover - the poolcrete skim coating under the liner is so deformed and rough that it shows as lumpy, especially in the evening when the lights are on, so i don’t turn the lights on at night because it’s embarrassingly ugly especially when compounded with the wrinkles in the liner, they told me pools look like that when you turn the lights on (wish I would have known this before I purchased lights that their pools looked like that because my other pools certainly did not!) This was supposed to be a high end pool in the vicinity of 6 figures ... after owning several pools in the past this pool is the most disappointing pool I have ever installed at one of my properties. I am fairly certain this company will try to dispute everything I have said because that is exactly what they have done from day one. However, they will not be able to dispute all the photographs I have taken these last years that document everything I am writing about! Photos are available online if you look for them! I truly wish I could have left a good review because this is a family business and the salesman seemed nice, however, the deteriorating relationship over the many phone calls and fix-it calls made it impossible to focus on anything positive.

As a first time pool owner I knew nothing about opening a pool, balancing the chemicals or any of the other details. These guys have been great at helping me open my pool, get it cleaned (pool was with a new home and had sat closed for two years), provided advice and helped with chemicals to balance the pool.

Perfect from start to finish. We purchased a new home and knew immediately we wanted a pool installed before the end of summer. We met with Nick and having never owned a pool he provided us with a wonderful overview of the process and the upkeep involved. We wanted to be able to us the pool before the end of summer and Nick assured us that it would be installed in two weeks and ready to go shortly thereafter. I must say, I wasn't sure he and his crew could pull it off, but the did on schedule and to perfection. Nick also helped us in finding a wonderful fence and concrete company. Nick held our hands every step of the way and proved to be not just an outstanding sales man, but a man that loves what he does, who he works for and the customers he serves. We love our new pool and cannot wait for our first full summer of use. We highly recommend Atlantis Pool to everyone who wants quality, service and a company who cares.

Description of Work: Atlantis installed the pool last Fall (2014) and immediately closed it. They came by to check on it April 17th and put the pump on the cover and cleaned the leaves on and around the pool. They are very professional and helpful, which we appreciate, as we've never owned a pool previously. They were referred to us by two different couples, who were very happy with their work.

Everything went extremely well and on schedule. I have them open and close my pool annually now. They are wonderful. The quality of their work is stupendous. update* I have spent the last 5 plus years working with Atlantis Pool and can't say enough about their customer service. They are there to answer any questions and help make it a fabulous season. I look forward to working with them every year for my pool opening and closing and all pool supplies. They have spas as well but I haven't branched out to that yet.
Description of Work: When I contacted them I explained I was looking for my first house and was thinking about putting in a pool. Mark came with me to three different homes to check out if a pool was possible without even knowing if I'd sign a contract with them. The entire staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all things pool related.

I informed one of two repairman (Dan) that a service code on the heater needed to be checked out in a phone conversation the morning of a scheduled repair and pool closing. His response was "Don't tell me how to do my job, I know how to do it". He was extremelly rude. My husband show up at the house shortly after these two Atlantis Pools (Brooklyn Center) arrived to set out equipment needed in the pool closing. The equipment was there within 5 minutes after arrival but the brief delayed seemed to cause undue agitation with Dan. When I arrived home, I confronted Dan about his tone on the phone and stated I do not appreciate the tone on a service call. He went off again about doing his job. He said "go ahead and call the company and complain". I spoke with the owner Scott Hubbard who had already been called by Dan. Scott Hubbard is a very short tempered unprofessional businessman. He said I was lying about what happened with Dan. He also was upset about the brief delay in having the equipment out for closedown, which he acknoledged was less than 5 min after the men arrived. Scoot Hubbard hung up the phone on me. We have spent over $100,000 with this company to put the pool in in 2009. The service has been consistently rude and unpleasant, this has been a pattern with this company at pool closedown, this history contributed to finally confronting Dan for his rude behavior. Scott Hubbard, the owner, supports this behavior in his employees, and he himself displays similair behavior. Once the major expense of pool installation is made, this group will treat you very unprofessionally. My advice is to have your pool install with any antother pool provider in the Twin Cities and not deal with the poor service that awaits you down the road.

The building of the pool went alright however we had many issues with the heater and salt generator. They eventually replaced the unit after we complained that attempts of fixing it did not resolve the issue (we almost had to get lawyers involved). The worst part of this company is their cleaning crew. Every time we opened the pool they dump lots of expensive chemicals in the pool and do a poor job of cleaning the crap off the bottom of the pool. so it would cloud the pool right back up causing for more expensive chemicals to be used. They said they came out every week but there was always the same crap on the bottom of the pool so i fired them. Eventually they asked for another shot and I agreed, which was a mistake. The liner is all rippled on the bottom of the pool so I asked them to drain the pool when the opened it this year and fix the problem. THEN fill it up and add chemicals. (Why should they throw chemicals in a pool that needs to be drained and fixed?) They failed to do this so I still have wrinkles on the bottom of my pool. Annoyed I hired another company to come take a look at my pool. They informed me my salt generator was reading a code 94 and asked if they ever mentioned that. I told them I was not told that. Two days later Atlantis pools came out and they didn't even mention it. I called them but they said they never saw the code. I fired them again. My new pool people spend 2x the amount of time cleaning my pool at the same price.

Description of Work: I have used Atlantis for years now. They open and close my pool for me every year. They are also available for 'fit it' items around the pool. The guy who dug up for the pool did a perfect job. The guys who did the concrete job were amazing. Their foreman was a jerk. He was rude to my husband to the guys who did the work. I do not want what I say about him to reflect on the subcontractors working under him. The salesman who spoke to us was super nice. He was always there when we went to the store and when I had questions. He was super cool, and he gave my kids floaters in anticipation of the pool. However, the first time I had a problem he said I did not have to worry. I told him that it was a big deal and he asked me not to worry about it. Then again I told him that it was a big deal and I had to worry about it and he said he will fix it. We had problems with the lights and I kept talking to them and ignored us. My husband went on line and looked at the manufacturers and talked to them. My husband found out what the problem was and informed them about it to which they said they would charge us more to get that fixed. We had a lot of problems with them but the pool is good. The concrete work also looks great. We have a lovely pool now that we enjoy but it is hard to rate them high because of the experience we have had. They told us big things about the service they provide to their customers but never saw that. The four guys that did the pool were amazing but the people who came to put the metal rails were awful and the guy who came after that was bad. He did not tell us what to do and when my husband asked him questions he told my husband that was not included in the price. He basically told my husband to get lost. Some people were A quality and some were D quality. The initial installers were phenomenal. They were courteous. The electrician subcontractor was knowledgeable, professional, on time, respectful, and did high quality work. He even followed up on his work very well. The concrete guy was also professional and courteous. He did what he said he was going to do. Their gas contractors were D as they ripped up the sprinklers. They did a lot of damage which cost us an extra $2000 to solve the damage. When I complained to the company they told us that it was written in the contract that the sprinklers can get damaged. I do not know how to rate them. They were A in the beginning when they gave us the quote. We stayed on them and that is the reason the project was completed on time. I honestly don’t know if I should recommend them to others or not. My neighbors did tell me that the pool looks beautiful and wanted to know who did the job. I told them that they can get a good pool done but it was on their own risk. They have a store where they were very friendly and helpful. It is hard for me to decide if they were A or F.
Description of Work: Atlantis Pools did the pool in my backyard. I have had such a diverse experience with them. I would recommend some of the subcontractors to my family and there were people who were so poor that I would not let them on my property again. When it comes to their promotional material and what they have at their disposal and price is good. When it comes to what they promise and their follow through, I have had issues with them. They were here when I wanted before I signed up the deal. The owner also came here the first day.

We are pleased overall with Atlantis Pools. We just moved into our new house which has an inground heated pool. Before buying the house we hired Atlantis to inspect the pool which they did in Sept 2010 for $85. They gave a good inspection report although could not start the pool heated when they attempted to do so. We closed on our house Oct 15th, and found a pool full of leaves, both on top and on the bottom of the pool. We did not know what to do about cleaning the pool, but again hired Atlantis to close it for the season. After talking on the phone about the condition of the pool we decided to have them clean it and close it on Oct 28th which they did. They were helpful on the phone and did a great job cleaning and closeing the pool including covering it with the cover that was left here by the previous owners of the house. Two guys spent 1 and 1/2 hours doing the work and the bill was a little over $500, exactly what they said it would be. We plan to have them open the pool in the spring and teach us house to care for it.
Description of Work: Atlantis Pools spent time with me on the phone answering questions as I am a new pool owner (new house). After discussing our problem with a dirty pool and needing it cleaned and closed they came and did these things for us.

Nick Galanos is the sales guy who we met at our home. He is prompt, always courteous, always responsive, and extremely knowledgeable about swimming pools. He can answer every question you ask with a very detailed answer. He discussed the entire pool building process in detail, and the pros and cons of all the different types of swimming pools and the options available. He had a list of about 20 references from people in the metro area that had built pools with them as recently as the prior year, and as far back as 7-8 years prior. So I got a good amount of feedback from all those references, and although some had a glitch or two along the way, never was Atlantis not responsive and they all recommended Atlantis without reservation. I also compared Atlantis' bid to those of 4 other pool contractors in the area, and in the end although Atlantis was not the least expensive, I went wtih them largely because of Nick and how he was able to answer all my questions and the quality of the references. It was easy to see they knew what they were doing. When our pool dig date arrived, a small army of people arrived with backhoes, dump trucks, pool equipment, etc. They got right to work at 7AM and were digging away in a matter of an hour. The excavation did uncover unexpected fill in the area of the deep end of the pool, which unfortunately is not uncommon in many newer developments such as ours. Some of their references had the same problem. This would require a little over $4000 in soil correction work (i.e. soil compaction) which delayed the excavation by 4-5 hours. But they worked into the early evening to get what they needed to do done. Normally when told of the soil issue I would have been skeptical, but I had my separate general contractor with me at the time (who was working on a house addition simultaneously) and he independently vouched that the soil condition looked too soft to build a pool on, so I was reassured Atlantis was on the level on this issue. In the end the rest of the pool build went off without a hitch. The pool is terrific and everything works as it is supposed to! I have had a corner of the liner pull free from the frame once, and Atlantis sent someone out the next day to fix it. I have had a question here and there, and Nick and his crew are always able to answer these cheerfully. The only issue that we had was with Bill, the electrical subcontractor that Atlantis used. He knows his stuff, and is good at wiring pools. But he doesn't keep to his schedule, and delayed our project about 1 week because he couldn't make it on the day he was supposed to wire everything. Then when he showed up, he complained incessantly about the fact he had to work around landscapers. This in a backyard pool project! Also, Bill damaged one of the gas lines for the pool heater while trenching his electrical cables, and he didn't want to take responsibility for the cost of the repair. So the gas contractor ate the cost. Bill is very unprofessional in that regard, and I hope Atlantis finds a different electrical subcontractor to wire their pools.
Description of Work: Install backyard 40' x 20' in-ground vinyl-lined swimming pool, including equipment (pumps, cleaners, filters, heater, salt water chlorine generator), Coverstar automatic pool cover, 4 deck jets, and diving board. A soil correction had to be performed unexpectedly due to fill dirt in our excavation of the deep end of the pool which resulted in a little over $4000 extra cost which is included in the price shown above.

NICK GALANOS IS THE GENTLEMAN THAT SOLD US THE POOL. HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS ARE NEARLY PERFECT. A POOL IS OBVIOUSLY A BIG EXPENSE, BUT WHEN YOU ARE TREATED THE WAY NICK TREATED US, IT IS A LITTLE EASIER TO GIVE THAT MUCH MONEY AWAY! MY ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT IS THAT FOR THE CONCRETE AND ELECTRICAL WORK THEY USE SUBS. WE WERE NOT QUITE AS WOWED WITH THEIR SUBS. HOWEVER, IT WOULD NOT PREVENT US FROM RECOMMENDING THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE.
Description of Work: ATLANTIS DUG A NEW POOL FOR US WHICH INCLUDED THE LAYOUT, A POOL COVER, AND ALL EQUIPMENT.

THE SALESPERSON, JOHN, WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND HELPFUL. THE INSTALLER CAME AT THE LATE END OF THE WINDOW GIVEN, BUT WAITED FOR ME WHILE I HAD TO DO A QUICK ERRAND. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS HE USED OUR TOWELS TO CLEAN UP THE FLOOR WITHOUT ASKING OR TELLING ME. WE ARE HOWEVER VERY HAPPY WITH THE UNIT
Description of Work: REPLACED OUR RENTAL UNIT. PURCHASED NEW WATER SOFTENER, HAD IT INSTALLED.
