A to Z Bathroom Remodeling Experts

The installation went very well. He started when he said he would and had everything completed in four days. I was prepared for a longer disruption and was pleased that everything went so fast.

We had recently changed out all of the bath and shower faucets in our bathroom. Unfortunately, the tiles around the faucet pipes in our bath had cracked and broken off. We know replacing just one or two tiles is tricky, but thought we'd give it a try. After looking through Angie's List and reading various reviews, we contacted Val. He came out and carefully ground out the broken tiles as well as all the old grout and mortar. He then mortared and grouted new tiles around the pipes, nipping the tiles to fit perfectly. You can't even tell where tiles were replaced! The grout matches perfectly! This is true craftsmanship! To be honest, this was also a "test" for a much larger project of removing old tile in our entryway and kitchen. After seeing the work Val did, we know who we're going to call!

The day after my call, Val met me at our house and provided a quote. He was very professional and on time. We discussed what we wanted and what type of tile to purchase (we provided the tile for the job). He gave a few names of outlet stores and the total square footage to purchase. His quote was comparable with others, but he seemed more knowledgeable / confident on how to approach difficult tiling areas (such as a sloping drain on the floor). His team showed up on the day we agreed and worked three successive half days until the job was finished. They did there best to keep the mess to a minimum such as laying down tarps from the front door to the basement. Overall, the work was done to our satisfaction and I think it looks very nice. There are quite a few difficult cuts / shapes / objects to work around, and I think they did a very good job. Price was competitive, the people were friendly, and they answered all our questions right away. Thanks Val!

He and his helpers finished the job in two days. They showed up promptly at 9 a.m. Monday morning and did all the demolition that day. They removed all the old materials and quickly began installing the new stuff. They changed up the order a little when I asked for time to paint behind the vanities overnight. Val was easy to work with and thorough, and the bathroom looks beautiful.

Other than above; Val said it'd be about a 5 day job, he started Wed and got done Friday evening, I loved that! I liked that I didn't have to be here to let them in (key given to them from office). I liked that he offered ideas and suggestions and didn't just 'do what I said.' He follows up great on email, and I've never had to leave a voice mail. I liked and appreciated that when I changed my mind about something after I paid, he told me what I could do to help him (I could take off the corner shelving-carefully), and he would come the next day to glue/grout it to another corner. I offered to pay-but he said nope-even though it was really my fault. I loved that he suggested an outlet tile center and he would pick up and haul the tile to my house. I liked that he was able to start immediately-unlike some folks that could start in months. I wasn't super bright. When I asked if he could do work on my bathroom-I listed all that I wanted done (via email), and then named my price, and that's what I paid. Obviously I could have offered to pay lower, but I felt it was worth it! You'll understand if you read my comments below. :)

Date of job set a month in advance. Val spent about 45 minutes discussing the design and explaining how the job would be done. For a relatively small job he was generous with his time. Val started job on the date agreed upon. He and helper worked steadily and quickly. The cuts were done well. The grout joints were clean; and the caulking was neatly done. Cleanup was good, both inside and outside. Val was very professional in his communication and performed his work with a high level of skill. I would gladly use his services again.

This was the second job that Val did for us. He did an excellent job again. He was prompt, professional, cleaned up after himself and is overall a very nice guy.

This was a tricky job because there is a "curb" around the shower and the floor is not flat so they had some difficult angles to deal with.

Val and his brother arrived on time and quickly got to work. Both were very professional and courteous. The work went smoothly and the final result looks beautiful. When finished they did a very thorough clean-up. We received instruction on how to clean and care for the ceramic tile and grout. I would highly recommend this company to do any tile work you might have. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for future tiling jobs. Excellent Job!

The work was great with a tough job. I am also a tough customer with large expectations. Rarely do I give someone an A in Angie's List. A to Z came out to review the job and provide a bid. I told them we needed it done quickly to enable us to get the house on the market. They promptly scheduled us. Their first visit was to level the existing floor. The second visit they installed the new tile (removed and reinstalled all the bathroom fixtures as well). The job took three days overall. They did leave the water spigot outside running to cool their wet-saw. It slightly flooded a storage room with 1/8 inch water! It was a mistake and no big deal. I didn't even bring it up. They did a great job and cared about their work.

Val did his estimate on Wednesday and had the job completed by that next Monday. He even came in on Saturday to start the job so that we could meet our deadline of having the tile grout finished before the shower glass could be installed. The finished job far exceeded out expectations of how good the redone shower looks. Unless I told you it was a regrout, you would think the tile job was brand new.

I called Val to get an estimate on this job. I was sort of unsure what type of flooring I wanted. Val came out and gave me an estimate that was in my price range. He also gave me a suggestion to use slate tile. Since I am "unexperienced" at knowing what materials were out there, I took his great advice. We set the day for the rip out and install. He arrived with his partner and did a flawless job. The old flooring was carefully removed and the new slate put it. It looked beautiful when it was done. Way better than I had anticipated. They cleaned everything and even caulked the mantel of my fireplace (not in their job description) because it was very wobbly. I would highly recommend Val to do any flooring job. I will use him again in the future.

He communicated every aspect of the job to us, so we were always aware of what was going on. They did the demolition (removal of floors and old shower/tub) in very effective and clean manner. They were done with the job in 5 days and everything looked very nice at the completion. Val gave us an estimate next day after we called him. He was very professional and knew exactly what needs to be done to make the job look good. We asked Val to do the work because we were very surprised how much advise he had for us to make the job look better. Val and his helper kept all the area absolutely clean at all times. They did exactly as they said. They are more pickier about the job then I was. I was very amazed on how the job turned out to be with using 24x24 slabs. A to Z Tile was always on time and always left when they said they will. We are very satisfied with the job and never expected such a flawless finish. What amazed me is that they didn't even take breaks while working.

We are very picky about everything, but when A to Z Tile was done tiling we couldn't find any thing that we didn't like. Great. We had a few estimates and Val came in with the best price and provided before and after pictures to show us. He worked around our schedules and got the job done in 2 days. He really knows what he is doing and does great work.

We began the bathroom remodeling project doing all the work ourselves, but realized that we wanted some professional help for the tile work and marble flooring. I called Val at 8am mid-week, and he came out the same day to look at the job and gave us an estimate. Although we received a slightly lower bid from another company, we were really impressed with Val's ideas and suggestions. We mentioned the other company's bid to him, and he matched their bid. He was able to start the job within just a couple days, which is exactly what we needed for our project schedule. He showed up when he said he would (on time!) and was extremely conscientious of laying down drop cloths and keeping the job site tidy. What impressed us the most (besides the great job he did) was the fact that he was so patient in letting us go through the boxes of marble tiles and decide which tile would go next on the floor as he was laying them! Now that's customer service!! We would definitely use Val again!

We have used this company before so we called Val again and had him give us an estimate on our kitchen floor. Val started the job in 3 days. They installed the cement board and I had my electrician install heating mesh on the floor. Val and his helper came out after and installed all the tile in one day. Next day they came out to seal the slate and grout, after the grout cured they came out and sealed the slate and the grout another time. I was really amazed how all the tile was perfectly installed and all the cuts were made professionally. Val and his helper were very professional and always kept everything clean. We have more work for A to Z Tile to do for us in the future.

Val was very prompt when I called him to come give us an estimate. He was right on time to start the job. They took about one week from start to finish and the we are very happy with the results. We are so happy that we will have them back to re-tile/update another bathroom.

They completed the work in less time than they had projected and it looks great. He also suggested I look into getting my tile at a Tile outlet store, which I would not have thought about. So, I appreciated that.

He identified a couple problems with the earlier work, including a bad shower drain. He also noticed some plumbing work that would need to be done BEFORE the tile could be finished. He contacted a plumber he knew and made arrangements for that to be handled. He gave us an estimate of $1600 to replace the shower drain, move the plumbing for the toilet and finish the tile. Partway in, we ran into trouble with the electrical work for the heated floor. Again, Val called someone he knew and got it taken care of for another $250. Toward the end, Val noticed a bad tile on the wall, and offered to fix it for an extra $50. In the end, we got a LOT of work done for $1900. Yes, it was $300 over the original estimate, but the reasons were very clear and we agreed upon the changes before the work was done. Val and his team were friendly and hard-working. It took a little longer than I had hoped, communication wasn't ideal and the clean-up could have been better. But overall they were fantastic.
