A to Z Bathroom Remodeling Experts

Great. One of the crew was injured, which set them back a day or two, but they worked very hard to finish on time. Did a great job.

A to Z Tile staff get an "A" for all their great work but they get an "A+" for customer service. My wife and I had to go out of town during the week of services due to a family emergency. During this stressful time, I was very satisfied with A to Z Tile staff. We had to rush out of town the weekend prior to services and had not communicated certain particulars we wanted done in regards to the installation of a new bathroom tub. A to Z Tile staff were more than accommodating and maintained excellent communication with us while we were out of town. When we returned from out of town, we were more than satisfied with their workmanship. We will for sure use their services in the future and will recommend them to all our family and friends or to anyone looking for great work, excellent customer services at a fair price.

They did a very nice job removing and retiling two full bathrooms. We found the tile through another company and got a great deal on it. They took care of all the plumbing work that went along with the job. They were neat, punctual, and they did excellent work. We've had no problems, and it looks beautiful. We were a little short on materials when we made the purchase, so they even assisted us finding matching tiles to finish the job. This required extra cutting. It was a great experience overall.

I received a prompt response and firm quote by telephone from Val. He explained that his brother, John, would be the person who would do the work and he set us up with an appointment for a few days later. John arrived at the appointed time and presented himself in a professional manner. He and an assistant got to work immediately - I don't believe they took any breaks and were able to finish the re-grouting that day. He arranged to return the following day to seal the grout. He returned to seal the grout as agreed. A few days later I called him to ask why some of the grout lines near the floor were darkening, and he stated that it could be due to bleed through of deep mildew/mold staining. He agreed to redo the affected areas, and he returned within a few days to complete that, Since then we have been happy with the work.

When Val came out to give us an estimate, he was very attentive and shared lots of ideas on how to best achieve the outcome we were looking for. He was patient and responsive to our questions. He was prompt in emailing us the bid for his work and provided a detailed bid that we were able to understand. We scheduled with him a few weeks after receiving the bid. Once the project was underway, he/his team arrived right on time. They were able to finish the project on time and to the high standards we had hoped for. We were alerted to any hiccups that they encountered along the way, so we knew what was going on at all times (while my husband and I were at work). After the first day, we did ask for some adjustments to be made to the work and Val was understanding and able to 'fix' the issues for us so we would be 100% happy/satisfied. They were also very clean, leaving no messes behind at the end of the day. I would gladly use this company again for our next tile project.

Our experience with A to Z tile was a very positive one! Val made helpful suggestions during the quoting process but was not pushy and let us make the final decisions. He really listened to what we wanted. We did not experience this comfort level with other companies we requested quotes from. Val was very responsive via email, which is a great way to communicate with our busy schedules. They supplied the bathtub tile, we supplied the floor tile and the accent tile. Our house is older (circa 1950) and we routinely find non-standard materials throughout. Val really rolled with the punches on this and was able to adapt and make suggestions along the way. He also worked with us on some of the smaller parts of the project that we would be able to do on our own. The actually work took about a week. The bathroom looks wonderful and we're really pleased with how it turned out.

Val is a no-nonsense, highly professional worker. He came over for an estimate on the job, consulted with me on what we wanted done and made measurements. Of the various contractors I had look at this job, he was the only one who provided an estimate on the spot. His quote was better than the other folks I had bid on this job as well. Once we scheduled the work, Val closely followed the schedule he had described to me. He was on time and he got right to work. The work was being completed in our only bathroom so I was a bit concerned about how long it would take, but Val is an efficient worker and the job took only 1.5 days which presented minimal disruption to our family. Most importantly, the tiling and new vanity look terrific! I highly recommend Val and A to Z tile and stone.

We were very pleased with their quick response time in regards to the estimate. The work was completed quickly and efficiently. The quality was good. The price was exceptionally reasonable.

I got quotes from two top-rated providers through ngie's list. and chose A to Z based on the reviews and the quoting experience. From start to finish, Val and his team were punctual, responsive, and professional and the job was beautiful. This fairly major rework in the kitchen involving 3 different service providers was absolutely no hassle, due largely to the A to Z team. I told Val at the end that I was having trouble seeing how they could do this much high-quality work (involving 4 trips) for as little as it cost us. I believe that we got top-notch quality andd service at a bargain price.

Removed bathroom tile-floor and walls, tore out old shower walls and floor, brought everything up to code, replaced shower tub floor, retile shower walls, bathroom floor, and bathroom walls. We can’t say enough positive remarks, absolute great to work with! They were so easy to talk to and were very patient with all of our questions. The bathroom is on the smaller size and designed more to emulate being in a crystal cave. Very professional, courteous, no pressure sales tactics. Very easy to contact, quick to return calls, quick response to our questions about buying tile-(even when we were at the store). We will definitely be calling them again for several other projects.

The overall experience was great. Val came on time kept his word and was able to complete the job on time even with a set back.The setback was he originally thought we didn't need to level the floor. But when he did the estimate there was furniture in the room so it was hard to tell. Once they started laying tile it turned out the floor needed to be leveled. Val realized the mistake and only charged the material for the additional cost of leveling the floor. I really appreciate his honesty and the hard work of his employees whom worked extra hours to get the job done on time. I would use A to Z again on future tile projects to my house.

Great. Val knew what to do in every area and how to approach it. I had another company out that didn't point out the things that Val did. He also noticed cracks in some tile that I didn't and replaced them also. I had 1 bathroom with old tiles and wanted a couple of tiles replaced but didn't have replacement tiles. He said that actually touching up the nicked areas with a porcelain paint would be a better option that miss-matched tiles. So true! He was on time, worked with my schedule, the dogs loved his whole crew and they were all so efficient and the job looks great. Thank you Angies list!

Overall it went very well. They are very good. The quality of the work was very good. He did it over a period of five days. I would meet him at the house on an agreed upon time. He would always make that appointment. There were some extras did. He did a great job.

They seemed reasonably priced. I didn't have time to pick out the tile and it was fabulous because they did all of that.

Val and crew were great to work with. They arrived on time every day and even worked a couple Saturdays to make sure everything was done on time. Many unexpected issues came up, but Val always offered several options,including his recommended solution. We found out the original master shower drain was too high and the shower liner was not high enough. Water had been sitting in the liner (likely for years) and causing mold. The master bath floor was a cheap composite board, which was water damaged, and had seams that weren't even sitting on studs. Val said the only thing holding the floor down was the weight of the tile. Val replaced with plywood and installed a 1/4" backer board over that. He only charged an extra $250 for replacing the floor. which included materials. The strangest problem was in the second bathroom. The tub had a row of bullnose tile along the base, which we assumed was to cover a gap left by the original builder. It turns out that there was a gap between the tub and floor and the only thing holding up the tub was the bullnose tile. When Val removed the last piece of tile, one side of the tub fell about 1-2". Val and crew checked to make sure the tub hadn't cracked the plumbing below and then pried the tub back up and cemented underneath to provide a stable base. After Val and crew were finished, I wasn't happy with the height of the shelf in the shower cubby. I told Val exactly how high to mount the shelf, so this was my mistake, but as it turns out the shelf wasn't high enough to allow room for the shampoo bottles. Val's main concern was that I was happy with it, so once I realized I couldn't live with it the way it was, he came back and moved the shelf. We also found a couple tiles on the tub surround with small, but obvious chips, and Val came back on a Saturday to replace those tiles. Overall, I think Val, Tim, and John did a great job. They were very patient and eager to please a fussy customer like me! :) I had hoped to include before and after pictures, but don't see a place to put those within this report.

Overall, it was a fantastic work experience for us. They were very responsive, started job next week after call. They communicated with us throughout the project and told us exactly how much more it would be. The overage (only $100) was because of an improper setup with our existing plumbing. They were very fast, completed entire job in 3 days (had to push back one day because of snow storm, but called us so we knew) and the quality of work was supurb. Val was very friendly and easy to work with and was very accommodating to our requests. We would for sure use them again!

They had to communicate between myself, the landlord and our renters to get the job done. They did a good job and were able to get it done within the time period requested.

The project require five days. Drop cloths installed and strategically cleaned and cleared after each day's work. We understood work day durations would vary during the week. Work was performed in logical procedure. Grouting and curing was perfect. Cleanup [including possible dust, etc.] left us no trace the project had ever occurred. We were entirely pleased with the work and the results.

Val and his assistant were great. They met our budget expectations. They were always on time. They cleaned up after the project. They finished on time as well. The quality of the work was great. I will definately hire them again to refinish the other two bathrooms in our home, and perform any tile work.

The entire experience was excellent and professional. They responded quickly, set up a date and time and showed up as scheduled. The work was done in a respectful manner (that is, the rest of the house was relatively undisturbed while the construction was underway.) The end result was exactly as expected. A very good experience.

The outer wall of our downstairs shower collapsed outward when I leaned against it while taking a shower. It turned out that the wallboard behind the ceramic tile of the 20 year-old shower had been softened from being continuously wet as a result of the vapor barrier that had been installed between it and the outer insulation. We decided to replace not only the ceramic tile on the walls but also the stained shower pan and aged, sliding shower door, as well. We chose A to Z Tile based on the glowing references provided to Angie's List by previous clients and we are happy to add our own, totally positive review to them. Val went out of his way to give us the best and most responsive service possible. The job required him to be on-site for part of three days plus two days full time. He and the men he had on the project were meticulous in their work from initial demolition on Monday to final sealing on Friday. The care that Val showed couldn't have been greater if he were working on his own family's home. He explained everything he was doing to our complete satisfaction and arranged his work schedule to fit the times most convenient to us. It was a real pleasure having Val do this work for us and we will certainly seek him out for any similar projects in future. I have been using my new shower for about two weeks since Val completed the project and I continue to experience a great deal of satisfaction, even pleasure, in the quality of the workmanship that went into this work.

The old floor removal was very difficult, heavy work and could have been extremely messy, Val and his team did not cut any corners, and were especially careful to contain the dust and debris to the work area. Val (the owner/installer) saved us from making a very costly mistake in our selection of the size of the floor tile and installation pattern. He made a great suggestion for a different size tile and layout that actually saved us a few hundred dollars. The project was completed on time and turned out even better than we had hoped. Our thanks, again, to Val and his team for another great completed project!

Great! I was so impressed overall. It was done in the estimated time (even with the additional things they found that needed to be done). Val did find some things that weren't up to code (not shocking considering the state of the bathroom in general) and called me the first day to see if I wanted them to fix the problems. The prices for fixing them were very reasonable (only $325 over the original estimate) and Val did not pressure me at all. He just explained what was wrong. Val was significantly cheaper (at least $3000 cheaper) than other companies. Part of this was because he was more creative about fixing the toilet problem (bumping out the wall instead of moving the drain - which was cheaper and worked because the other side of the wall is just the laundry room); the other part is because he does less "hand holding" I picked out and ordered the tile, vanity, etc. More work on my part, but less money out of my pocket. I really love my new bathroom!!!! (The pictures don't do it justice but give you an idea).

We wanted the job to be done at nearly the lowest possible cost, and Val was able to help us do just that. He never once tried to sell us up to something. He was professional, the project was completed in great time, and best of all, we have a beautiful new shower that we can use again. We highly recommend A to Z.

Val did a great job with the tile and the price was fair. I plan to hire Val for my other two bathroom projects and would not hesitate to refer him to others.
