A to Z Bathroom Remodeling Experts

Contractor responded to my request for an estimate on the phone. After we decided to use this contractor, we had the work scheduled for the following week. The contractor's employee arrived on time and worked without any real break times. The entire processes required drying/curing time, but it was completely finished in a very timely manner. We did feel that there were a couple of small areas on and near the floor of the shower that required further work, and the contractor complied with our request and still managed to finish on schedule. Overall, we are very happy with the work, the price and the service; we will definitely keep this contractor in mind for any further work we need done in our bathrooms.

Great job. If you want a great tile job done and done right at a very reasonable price, just read the prior reviews in this sectiion of Angie's List. They tell the true story. Val is indeed a true craftsman in the European tradition. He does, in fact, take enormous pride in his work! This is a family business with old style values They take pride in their work and they do a great job. Overall, this was a little out of the ordinary type project. But Val and John completed it right on schedule. I could not be more pleased with their craftmanship and the overall experience working with A to Z tile. I will use them again for my next tile job without hestitation.

Could not be happier. Val was responsive from moment #1. He provided a timely and competitive bid. We had a number of clarifying questions during the bid process and prior to the project start date, and Val answered them all (many times his emails were late in the evening). His team showed up at the appointed day/time on the dot. Everyone was personable and professional. At 5:00 each day, the team headed out the door after having tidied up for the day. The job turned out great! Would not hesitate to hire again!

Working with Val and his staff was very easy and professional. He was able to come out quickly to give us an estimate. He arrived on time and was able to answer our questions and emailed us that day with an estimate. He answered our questions throughout the whole process. We found out a few days before he was to start the project that half of out tile was back ordered 6 weeks. He was very flexible and worked with us to start the project with the tile that we did receive and worked us back into he schedule when the remaining tile did arrive. We made adjustments to our design mid-install and he and his staff made the requested changes without a problem. He stuck to his time estimate, arrived exactly when he said he would, and the project took exactly as long as he said it would, even with the changes made in the middle of the project. We also paid the same price as the estimate that we were given, only adding to it as we added items along the way, and he told us exactly how much the price would be before he did any of the additional work. Overall it was a very good experience with Val and all of his staff. Our next project is in the kitchen and we will be calling Val for that too.

If it was possible on Angie's List, I would give this company an A+. They were amazing from start to finish. Val was prompt in returning my phone calls and quoted me a price that was very reasonable for the work to be done. Despite having a busy schedule, Val was very responsive to the urgency of the project and was able to schedule the project very quickly. There was a focus on quality, thoroughness, detail, professionalism and doing things right. Val and his family were so kind and went out of their way several times during the process to provide above and beyond excellent service. To begin with, Val was able to set up a time for a quote that worked within my very difficult schedule. He was on time, professional, and respected what I wanted to have done. In other words, he didn't try to push me to do more than what I asked for, so there was no "hard sell." He was extremely quick in e-mailing me the quote: I think it was even that night. I was very impressed! I was also very impressed with how hard he worked to stay within my budget, yet give me a professional end-result. After contacting a few other contractors, I decided to go with A to Z Tile & Stone. Val & I set up a date for them to begin. Val & his brother showed up on time every day that they came; they were efficient, careful, and clearly experts in this field. They worked hard and their desire to give me the bathroom I hoped for was obvious. It was also obvious that they take pride in the great work that they do. Every day that they were here, they tried to keep the remodeling mess to a minimum as well as tried to keep the inconvenience of my not having the main bathroom to use to a minimum, too. They kept their tools and supplies organized and out of my way as much as was possible. I greatly appreciated that they treated me with respect throughout the whole project. (I have not always found this, & even in trying to organize bathroom quotes ran into at least 2 very unprofessional, rude bathroom remodelers. One even refused to come out to give me a quote because he said it would be a waste of time because of my limited budge!! In contrast to being treated like that, Val certainly did NOT feel it was a waste of time to come out, and did everything he could to work within my budget. As already stated, he was respectful & conscientious throughout the whole process.) On the last day of work, they took pains to clean up, and left the finished bathroom in great shape. The end product is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I can't say enough how much I LOVE it! Wow, talk about a totally different bathroom from what I originally had!!! I hadn't told a couple of friends so I could surprise them; so when they were over one day, and saw the bathroom, they were very surprised and could not believe how great it looks. Simply put: I am thrilled! So, a few reasons as to why I rated them all "A's" (besides the above comments): They do the work themselves, it's a family run business; they are professional starting with the quote to cleaning up; they truly care about doing an excellent job and that REALLY shows; they took great pains to work around me; Val always made sure he answered all of my questions; they are personable and easy to work with; they have a great work ethic; and the work they do is awesome. As already stated, I have no qualms or hesitation in using them again: matter of fact, they're the only ones I would use. I just need to save up the money for my basement bathroom and that might take awhile, unfortunately!

Val and his crew did a great job and the travertine looks spectacular. They were very professional, doing their work and coming on time. We already hired them to do our floor in our laundry room in a few weeks. After experiencing some very incompetent workers in the past, it was very refreshing to have a crew who knew what they were doing. Keep up the good work!

We needed to repair a non functioning shower before placing our home for sale. We did not need a major remodel , just needed the shower updated and to match the existing bathroom. A to Z promptly returned call for estimate and set a convenient date. The rest of the correspondence was per emails. This was very convenient for us. Estimate was on 3/12/12 and the work was completed on 3/30/12. It is a family run business , very professional with great a good work ethic. We loved the work done. They helped me match the tile and chose a shower door that fit perfectly. I would definitely recommend this company!

Val answered his phone when I called for an estimate and to schedule the work. I received three estimates to retile the walls, ceiling and floor of a large shower stall. A to Z tile was the lowest estimate (half of one estimate) which provided the most detail along with options and associated cost. Val and his crew called the day before they came to do the work, showed up promptly on the scheduled date/time, provided me with numerous tile samples and completed the work that week. Each day they left the work area clean and free of debris. I am pleased with the outcome and will recommend A to Z Tile to others.

This was a one-man job. TIm was a hard worker, and very detail oriented. The finished job is beautiful.

The quote was very efficient. Within 15 minutes, he used a laser measuring device to take his measurements, and he was gone. The quote arrived by the weekend. He told me how much tile to buy. We were on his schedule shortly thereafter, I bought the tile at a local source, and the work was then done within about three weeks. The tiler arrived on time, was very cordial and worked quietly in the kitchen for hours. He returned the next day to grout and then the next day after that for sealer. He cleaned up his tile cutting (which was on the side of my garage) very nicely. The backsplash looks great! The reason I rated the pricing as a B, is that the price was twice what I paid for the original backsplash tiling work about 5 years ago. A to Z comes very highly recommended, and I was willing to pay the extra amount.

When Val first came out to quote my job, he wasn't sure if he would be able to remove the old tile without damaging the subfloor. Based on the year my house was built, he said it's likely the concrete subfloor would crumble when they pull up with the old tile. He gave me a quote to cover both situations - saving the existing subfloor or replacing it. As it turned out, Val had to replace the subfloor because it crumbled when they tried to pull up the old tile. Since the subfloor is so important to the outcome of the tile job, I knew that Val would make sure it was perfect. His team put new plywood down over the existing plywood floor and covered it with durarock before laying the travertine tile. Our floor was slightly bowed, so they made sure that they leveled it out with the mud as they tiled. This also solved our squeaky floor problem. We had just had all of our walls repainted before the tile work was done and the small bathroom had several nicks in the walls when they were finished; the result of trying to fit the durarock in such a small space. When they were finished they patched the gouges and touched up the paint. A small patch of popcorn ceiling (2" x 3") fell down in the basement from the jackhammering and they also repaired this. I've done quite a bit of remodeling and have come to realize that unexpected things tend to happen. My satisfaction with contractors is based on how they resolve these unexpected issues and A to Z Tile always delivers in this respect. Val and his team did another great job and I love my new travertine floor.

They allowed us to use their discount at the local tile store, and recommended the best place to get tile. The job is still drying since it just finished one day ago, but it looks great. Everything is very professionally done.

I contacted Val early in March about doing two bathrooms and he came and estimated. I had previously used A to Z Tile for another bathroom last Dec. and was happy with their work. Work was scheduled for March 29-30 and done as scheduled. Everything went smoothly. I purchased porcelain tile and new toilets and everything was expertly installed by owner Val.

Val came out to do an estimate and emailed it within 24 hours. I chose him based on price and his ratings. He did what he said for the price he quoted. I am not good at picking out tile and fixtures so he took care of that. The result was beautiful! He and his staff were punctual, professional and careful around my home. He communicated with me throughout the process and was very easy to work with. I have already asked him for an estimate for our next project.

I thought it was extraordinary. It was one of the best experiences I have had working with a craftsman. I was most impressed with the old world craftsmanship, flexibility, quick and precise service and they were very helpful in terms of making a recommendation. The tile I bought for them to lay was not the best and they tactfully let me know know so but that they would still use it if I would like. They are just very good and very reasonable.

This was a 2-day project to allow for time for the grout to dry.

Outstanding! I called to set up the appointment about a week ago. Val answered personally and set me up for first thing in the morning the following week. He arrived right on time. I was fortunate enough to have the grout and the tile that was originally used from construction so he used what I had. He was extraordinarily conscientious and very clean. He made sure there was no dust that escaped when he ground out the old grout, and even took his shoes off when he came in my house. A true professional. The tile work itself was outstanding as well. He made sure to set the tile in just the right place, grouted it, and was in and out and done in about an hour. He cleaned up after himself and left me with some instructions on how to clean the haze off the tile once it was cured. He was not the least expensive bid that I got for the work but I feel like I got more than what I paid for in craftsmanship and expertise. He came with an assistant, worked quickly, did it right, was very clean about it, and got the job done in one visit. A couple months after the job was done you can't even tell there was ever a tile replaced.
