My very old Lennox central A/C couldn?t keep up with the heat and humidity during a recent hot Friday afternoon, so by early evening I knew something was wrong. I called Northern Comfort?s answering service at 8:45 pm to ask for someone to contact me and I assumed it would be Monday before anyone called back. To my surprise, within minutes the technician on duty called. He set up an appointment for noon on Saturday, and after getting a condenser cleaning and coolant recharge, my 30 year old A/C is running like a champ again. The tech not only worked me into his busy Saturday schedule, also he also called twice to let me know exactly when he would arrive. He was here precisely at noon and worked quickly, and was very helpful in explaining the problem. He is a first class technician and honest as well because he could have told me that my A/C unit needed replacement and I probably would have believed him. Because he suspected that the coolant was low, he also told me on Friday evening to turn off the A/C so that the frozen tubes could thaw before he arrived the next day. If he had not done this, he wouldn't have been able to recharge the coolant during his appointment and I would have had to wait longer for the repair. Saturday and Sunday afternoons hit 90+ degrees but my A/C worked like new. I did have to pay an after-hours labor rate, but it was well worth it given the circumstances.
Description of Work: Inspected central A/C system, cleaned condenser and recharged coolant on a weekend.
