Failed to return calls. Failed to arrive on time, or show up at all, for scheduled appointments. Failed to provide an estimate for the project. Failed to provide an actual time frame to start and complete the work. Gave only a ballpark availability and quot;Should be available the end of next monthand quot; and then called twice to put off the project for bigger money projects, and then stopped returning calls at all. IF you want him to do your project, don't let him leave that first appointment without signing a solid basic contract (examples available online) including when to start and finish or you may not see him again. He's known for showing up (or not) whenever he feels like it so your project may take months longer than necessary.

He was really very good in that he didn't take advantage of me, which he could have; he could have made money himself instead of telling me to just hire a plumber for the job I needed done. He was very punctual and professional; he was here when he said he would be. He was all around a really nice guy. He in fact recommended a plumber to me. He was really down to earth and honest. If I was to call somebody where I needed general contracting, they are the ones I would call.
Description of Work: I had someone from John Hurd Construction come out to look at some plumbing work I needed done.

So you are coming out and the sidewalk is slanting away as you go so the fact that they could just calculate that was good. I don't think everybody can do that.
Description of Work: We live on a hill and consequently the steps had to be on a hill. They could measure that and make them even.

Hard workers, showed up when they said they would, good quality work, finished on time.
Description of Work: Remodel - rip out and replace windows, insulation, sheet rock. Remove closet. This was the second job we hired them for. The first was for fixing up a finished basement that had a lot of water damage when a pipe burst.
