We were very pleased with the work that was done on our house. They listened to and addressed our questions prior to starting. On the job, they were punctual, respectful of our property and provided quality work.

We were very pleased with the work done on our home by Madison and Son and would definitely recommend them. They were neat, attentive to detail and conscientious about the quality of their work. We had some unique wood designs that required special attention and we were exceptionally impressed with how that aspect of the work was addressed and as well as the outcome.

Jim answered all my phone calls, and questions from beginning to end; his communication was excellent. Since we had not painted in many years, our house needed scraping, sanding, caulking, and painting. Besides taking the time to prep properly (which I learned is very important), Madison & Son brushed, and rolled, two coats of paint, including painting two chimneys. They did meticulous work on the painting and clean-up. We had one special request—which they did for us—which was paint under a difficult-to-reach bay window. The whole crew was hard-working, friendly, courteous, and trustworthy. I truly enjoyed the process of painting our home because Jim took responsibility to get the job done with excellence.

The project went well. Jim came out to discuss the project in detail, and he provided an estimate soon after that. Scheduling was good. We were able to get this done within a few weeks after getting the estimate. The project itself turned out to be more difficult than we expected due to the amount of prep work that was required. Sanding was not enough, so JIm and his team used grinders to properly prep the boards. Other painters might have taken short cuts there, but they spent a lot of time getting it right before painting/staining. Also, the boards were dry and a little warped so normal rolling was not possible. We provided the stain color codes to Jim, and he picked up the paint and went to work soon after that. They applied 3 coats, and it looks great! Jim does the work himself along with a crew. He was punctual and professional. The results were very good. We would definitely use them again.

Jim, his son and his wife were amazing from the moment of my first inquiry. Quick to visit our house for a quote and quick work. They power washed, sanded and were very detailed in their work. Made sure no mess was left behind or stain on the house, patio or rock beds. Loved how they sent pictures via text throughout the staining process.

It went very well. They pressure washed the house in one visit, and completely painted it in another one-day visit (scraping, sanding, and priming where necessary). Very personable, flexible, and nice to work with.

I can't say enough about Jim Madison. We had a really bad experience with another contractor with them not being responsive and not seeming to care about what we had contracted them to do. Jim and Lona were a breath of fresh air when it came to their responsiveness and the fact that we felt like they truly wanted to get our work completed as soon as possible and did a fantastic job as well. My timeline was: Called them on a Tuesday - they came the next day for an estimate, we agreed to their terms. Came to power wash the home/trim on Friday. Stopped by the following Thursday to drop off their trailer and said they would be there at 9am the next morning to start the job. They actually showed up at 8AM. They started painting and found because we were changing from a Light Color to a Dark Color - we were getting a bit of bleed through, so switched gears and decided to spray instead of Roll on the paint, so they taped and protected all the way around the house and started the painting. When they asked if we wanted to see it - I thought only half of the house was done - but it was all done. They were done painting, cleaned up and gone in a matter of 7 1/2 hours and the job they did was spectacular. I just sat on my glider admiring the work from the middle of my front yard. We couldn't be happier with Jim Madison and Son and will definitely be using them in the future - next time for some interior painting that we need done. We feel like we have made some new friends as well because they truly care about how they treated our property and it shows in the job they do.

Everything went great. The whole family was great to work with and they did a good job. They seemed to be very knowledgeable.

We were very pleased with Jim and his crew. Very professional. They arrived on time and worked without breaks. The whole crew was very friendly and easy to work with. He answered any and all questions we had. We had windows installed a few years ago and weren't real happy with the way the front window looked. Jim suggested a fix for the problem and we could not be happier with the result. If we are in need of painters in the future we would not hesitate to hire them again. A-1 all the way around.

From the very beginning of meeting Jim with Madison & Son painting I was very impressed with how courteous and respectful he was. He walked me through each step of the estimate, and really explained in detail so I could understand clearly what I was spending my money on. Jim worked the entire time with his crew on the exterior of my home, which I found to be excellent and very rare as there are many leaders or bosses that don't over see the quality of the work they are providing. Madison & Son work together as a true team as they are family operated. I felt completely comfortable with them in my home, as they were very friendly, understanding, patient, and very respectful of my home. I just recently sold this house and bought another home and I will be contacting Madison & Son to do my exterior and any other painting services I need done. They really did a wonderful job and the quality of their work is amazing.

We live in Forest Lake and searched Angies List for a company to powerwash, sand, & restain our extensive cedar deck. We wanted someone in our area, and were looking for superb reviews. Someone we could trust to do the best job, and we needed the work to get done. Not as a "filler" type project. Attention to detail was also important to us with the deck having several hundred spindles. Under "Deck Maintenance", we read about Madison & Sons, with an A+ rating, and in our area. We called and they started work just days later. We knew this job would be labor intensive due to the degree of dirt and black in places. We also realized that restaining with a natural cedar toned stain would not get the look we wanted this time, and needed advice. Jim Madison suggested a stain by Pittsburgh Paints called Tobacco, a custom mix from Menards. They had used it before on other decks. We tryed it on a small area and loved it. We all agreed it went well with the brown mulch in our landscaping. Great care and time was taken to do an awesome job. Every attention to detail was paid. They are extremely honest and hardworking. We found that they had the same results in mind that we did. We couldnt have asked for a better job to be done and would not hesitate to hire them again. They are experienced and timely. We could not be more pleased. We suggest that you do not hesitate to call Jim Madison. They also do interior work as well. We are very pleased!

We have had our decks pressure-washed, cleaned, and stained 3 times over the past 5 years. Every spring, they looked as if they had been permanently abandoned. It was highly recommended that we have these 18-year-old decks sanded and stained. Jim, Lana, and JJ Madison came to the rescue. They arrived on time, immediately set up their equipment, and went to work. Great people. They put their heads down and sanded away. The clean-up after this amount of sanding was admirable. Jim understands decks. He offered a lot of helpful tips for the staining which we chose to apply ourselves. We would definitely call on them again.

Family run business, Jim was very responsive. Called and provided the time they would be there and was right on time. Wasted no time getting started. Paid attention to the details. Because this was a refinish of a deck we needed to wait until it was dry before applying the finish, he kept in touch and had to come out on a Sunday to finish the job. Very satisfied with Madison and Sons.

Super! They gave an estimate on the day requested, and the job was started and finished withing 36 hours, only because the paint had to dry on the ceiling. They were on time, friendly, quality work ( with years of experience), reasonably priced, got the job done with in the time frame expected, and went above and beyond to get the job done and please the customers. I would highly recommend their work and re-hire them without thinking twice! Worth the time and money!

Jim returned my phone calls quickly and set up a time when I was home to try to match a stain that would work. He gave me a bid, made sure I liked the stain, and wrote up a proposal to do the job. He called me and let me know when the crew would show up and when the weather wasn't good, he followed up with a call that the crew would be up as soon as the weather was clear. Jim and his crew were very professional and polite. All were cheerful, and took their work very seriously. Very down to earth people. The deck looks wonderful! I'm VERY pleased!

Madison & Son came to do our deck and said they also did interior and exterior painting. They gave us a bid on our rooms and they were able to do the interior painting during the same time they worked on the deck. We are very pleased with how the paint turned out. Jim is a perfectionist, and he and his team made sure everything looked great! They were very neat in doing their work and in cleaning up, we hardly knew they were there. We would definitely have them do more work for us in the future.

Jim and his team were We love it! We had picked out the stain we wanted, but he recommended a different stain that he had used, so we returned ours and went with his and the deck turned out great! They were also very neat workers, so there was no mess for us to clean up. We would definitely recommend him to others.
