We hired them to rebuild our chimney from the roof line up (we had many spalling bricks), and replace several other bricks below the roofline. One reason our brick was spalling was because the original builders didn't build a proper chimney crown with a proper overhang to keep rain from dripping down the chimney bricks. Marv, the owner who comes from a family of masons, understood this and built us a proper custom poured concrete chimney crown complete with drip edge. He also did a nice job replacing other bricks throughout the chimney that were spalling and, since they likely don't make our original bricks any more, he did a good job of finding a good match with new brick and interspersing the new brick with the old brick in the rebuild so they blend in better. Marv and his assistant put in long days, did great work, got the job done quickly and had a nice setup for scaffolding, which even included a sun shade so they could work on hot days. Marv was very friendly and easy to work with, and when we pointed out one brick that didn't look right because it may have gotten chipped, he redid it for us no questions asked and no extra charge. As far as cost, Post Masonry wasn't the least expensive, but they were thousands less than estimates from a couple other top rated masonry companies. Also, Marv called to follow up a few weeks after giving us an estimate to answer any questions we might have -- that impressed us because few other small contractors do this. We'd definitely hire Post Masonry again and recommend them to others.

We recently had Post Masonry renovate our badly deteriorated chimney. Marv did a great job matching the color of our existing brick. He and his assistant were hard working and reliable, and did a beautiful job for us. The quality of the work was excellent. It’s clear Marv takes pride in his work. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again.

Marv removed the deteriorating bricks and replaced them. The repaired area blends well with the existing area. He was able to give us a general price estimate via phone based on our description and pictures, which was great. This is the second time we hired him as we liked the work he did to repair our chimney cap several years ago. We will also have him replace our unattractive brick fireplace hearth with stone later this year.
Description of Work: A section of bricks on both sides of our garage door was deteriorating near the ground. We needed this repaired.

MARV POST DID AN EXCELLENT JOB REBUILDING OUR CHIMNEY CAP AND REPAIRING SOME LOOSE BRICK. HE KEPT US INFORMED OF HIS PROGRESS DAILY DURING THE PROJECT. WHEN HE DISCOVERED SOME ADDITIONAL MINOR PROBLEMS WITH THE CAP, HE PROVIDED A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM, ALONG WITH COSTS AND OPTIONS. THE CHIMNEY LOOKS PROFESSIONALLY DONE. MARV KEPT THE WORK AREA CLEAN AND WAS RESPECTFUL OF OUR PROPERTY AND TIME, HE EVEN DISPOSED OF AN OLD CEMENT-BOTTOMED FENCE POST WE COULDN'T GET OUR TRASH HAULER TO PICK UP! ONE ADDITIONAL NOTE, WE HIRED THIS PROJECT OUT SEVERAL YEARS AGO TO A ROOFING VENDOR FOR ABOUT $500, WHO HAD A SUBCONTRACTOR DO THE WORK WITH VERY DISAPPOINTING AND UNPROFESSIONAL RESULTS. IT'S OBVIOUS MARV KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING!

MR. POST IS A MASON WITH 25+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WHO APPLIES THOSE SKILLS TO INSTALLING GLASS BLOCK WINDOWS AND INTERIOR GLASS BLOCK STRUCTURES SUCH AS SHOWER STALLS. HE AND HIS ASSISTANT WERE PUNCTUAL AND POLITE, AND I FOUND HIS PRICING VERY COMPETITIVE WITH OTHER BIDS.
Description of Work: POST MASONRY INSTALLED A SMALL GLASS BLOCK WINDOW (17'' X 49'') IN A WALL IN MY HOME TO BRING LIGHT AND PRIVACY INTO A LOWER-LEVEL ROOM THAT HAD NO WINDOW. MR. POST AND HIS ASSISTANT USED EXPERT MASONRY AND CARPENTRY SKILLS TO INSTALL THE WINDOW IN ABOUT 4 HOURS.
