Tom (and his step daughter) did a sensational job on our house. His communication was really good, he was timely, affordable and the work was executed VERY well. Our family would definitely use him again!

Tom did an excellent job in only a week. After many years of smoking in our house he had a hard time covering up the nicotine stains, but he was able to overcome that in a short period of time. Tom also repairs a small area where we had a water leak that left the drywall tape loose perfectly. You can't even tell. I have already recommended him to a couple of friends, and I hope to have him back to do more painting as soon as I can open up the windows.

Just fine, Tom and his lovely assistant Bridget arrived right on time. We verified the appt time and other details the week before. He did some patching then two coats of an excellent paint, leaving me some paint in a can in case I smudge anything, which I am sure to do. There was a lot of stuff to get out of the way, but Tom and Bridget handled this with ease. They are friendly, professional and very efficient. The whole job took only 3 1/2 hours. Everything got put back in the right place.

Contacted Tom on a Friday, he came out to scope out my work situation the following Monday. By the next day I had an estimate for the work and a proposed start date (a few weeks in the future). He promised to be here by 8am (or possibly earlier) on the start date. True to his word, Tom showed up at 7:50 am on the agreed start date. His co-worker, Justin, came shortly after. Tom got Justin set up with equipment and went over the project with him, and then Justin set to work. Justin did all the prep work for the painting and did the sheet rock repairs in the morning, and did the first coat of paint in the afternoon. It was clear that Justin takes great pride in his painting skills. I mentioned that there was ceiling paint leftover from a previous project, if he needed it for touch ups, and he seemed a bit offended. He advised he wouldn't need to do touch ups. I felt badly I had even brought it up (my bad). And he, of course, didn't. The next day, Justin returned to finish the second coat of paint, and Tom joined him to paint the accent wall. What was originally estimated to take 3 days, ended up taking just two. The guys were very good about cleaning up after working and careful about handling my furniture. They were also friendly with my dog and cats (even after one apparently tracked through a pan of wet paint across the living room carpet). And they were very nice to chat with as well. It made for a stress-free experience. I really enjoyed working with Painting with Color.

Tom responded to all my emails and phone calls promptly. He and his crew were punctual and professional, and did quality work. I would happily hire him again for my next painting project.

Wow! Tom did an absolutely fantastic job on a major painting project in our house. We have plaster walls that have never been painted since the house was built in the 1940s and a hand-swirled ceiling that required professional painting. Tom was meticulous in expertly patching all the cracks in the walls, and despite their age they are now perfectly smooth. Because it's an older home we needed someone who really knew what they were doing to handle whatever surprises we encountered, and Tom delivered all the way. With each decision we had to make, he chose the right way over the cheap or easy way. I also appreciated that his 30 years of experience helped us to steer clear of a number of pitfalls. For example, he immediately knew that the color that we chose wouldn't cover well if we used the usual base for it, so before putting on any paint he worked with Sherwin Williams to reformulate the paint using a new base that completely covered in two coats and that exactly matches the color we wanted. Tom was also super easy to work with. He coached me through how to strip the wallpaper myself so that I could save some money and he gave me tips on how to improve my own painting skills. He was friendly, punctual, highly skilled, reasonably priced, and fast. And he did a great job of cleaning up at the end. I couldn't have asked for more.

Could not have been better. On time on date promised. Allowed me to use his contractors discount for paint I purchased. Suggested I do one side of adjacent hall at no add'l charge. Completed on time after site clean up.

Tom came out right away to give me an estimate. He worked fast and efficiently. He was personable and reliable. He gave us a more than fair quote and never changed from the original estimate. He did a great job!! I would hire him again in a second!!

It went very well. Tom and his assistant where very professional and showed up on time each day. For the price he did an outstanding job. I highly recommend using Tom. If you ever tried scrapping a popcorn ceiling yourself, it is very messy and labor intensive. Let the Pro's do it.

We were concerned about finding someone who could handle our drywall and ceiling repair work, but Tom and his team did a great job. Quality work on painting too. They were very easy to work with, and we're already planning our next job for him.

The ceilings look great! Thanks to Tom's great communication and planning, we were able to coordinate a daily plan together. It was a very manageable process throughout the week. Tom vacuumed and left the work area tidy every day. He went out of his way to locate an older texture type for the re-textured ceilings so that they would match the others. In addition, he took care of some loose drywall before proceeding with texturing and painting.
