Honey-Doers staff was awesome to work with. They had everything so scheduled, that our project moved along quickly and our lives were not too disrupted. Everyday, they cleaned up their mess, so that our house didn't look like we had a major remodeling project going on. Afterwards, we were left with two amazing, spa-like bathrooms. Shelly was so great on the front end guiding us through what we needed to do for our selections, and Dan was so responsive during the remodeling with our questions. The rest of the workers were so kind and hard working. We would use them again and would highly recommend them!!

I contacted Honeydoers looking for an electrician. I was told that the electrician would contact me personally to set up a time. Three days later, I called them back, as I still hadn't heard from the electrician. Once again, I was told that they would contact him and have him connect with me. Another day goes by and I still don't hear anything. I followed up one last time and was told, "well, he must be really busy then." Poor communication. Very poor first impression. Will not attempt to give them my business again.

The bottom line is Honey Doers saved me $400. I was set to have a plumber do work that was estimated to be $1000. Rick from Honey Doers re-assessed the water leakage issue and we ended up with a $600 fix which included repair of our sliding glass door to the patio. THis is the second time I'm using them with huge success. Honey Doers is my go-to home repair service now.
Description of Work: * Investigated a water leak. Opened wall in mud room for inspection, replaced with access panel. * Fixed loose glass pane on sliding door to outside patio. * Inspected roof for leaks.

They gave us an estimate and got a great settlement from the insurance company before we signed anything or paid a penny. They helped us decide on finishes, design, etc., without pushing opinions on us, and they let us know what would be most cost efficient. All of their vendors are phenomenal--hard workers, friendly, and NEAT and tidy! Comunication has been excellent throughout the process. We are delighted with the results so far.

We were very pleased with the job they did on everything. Everything looks good and really well done. They returned our phone calls promptly and answered all the questions we had. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: We redid the master bathroom shower. They made it bigger by about 12". And they redid the floor also. They tore out and replaced kitchen countertops. Several small things like new cranks on a couple windows, new patio door screen, and fixed a couple kitchen drawers that weren't working well.

Requested a quote for installation of some vinyl flooring in two bathrooms of roughly 100 sqft each. They were prompt in giving me a call to discuss the project, friendly, and well spoken. Quote was around $600 per room, which I believe included handling everything from toilet remove/reinstall and baseboard remove/reinstall. The vinyl itself I already had. It wasn't a completely unreasonable quote, and perhaps it would have come down some after seeing the job in person, but was high enough that I pursued other options.

It went very well and was done quickly. When they moved our refrigerator it scratched our hardwood floors, but Rick came out right away and looked at it and sent a hardwood guy over to give us an estimate and then he took that amount off of our cost.-

The work appears to be done well. We will know better in the summer when the job is painted. The provider quoted one price and then charged another price. When questioned about this, it was explained that because of the nature of the job (being a 2 story), they had to charge more. That should have been quoted up front. I should have requested a quote in writing.

Rick arrived promptly, looked at my project, took measurements, and gave suggestions. He said he would get back to me with an estimate within a few days (before Christmas) but to not expect to get started on the work until later in January. That was fine with me. I never received that estimate. I called twice to request it and no one returned my calls. That is very unprofessional. If you are too busy or just not interested in a project let me know. I can take rejection. Don't just leave me hang. Someday, a client will do this to you. I am now using a different service provider and have been very happy with him so far.
Description of Work: I called the provider to get an estimate on remodeling my lower bathroom and doing some touch up work on two bedrooms. He came but never gave me the promised estimate.

They do what they say they will do and they show up on time. Listen to my needs and make great suggestions. Mindful of my budget. Always clean up the work area at the end of the day. I've used Honey Doers for three large projects and many small ones too over the past 10+ years. They are great.

I've had Honeydoers do a lot of work for me over the last few years and I have always been impressed with the quality of work. On this particular job, I had a stereo speaker that had no worked for a few years. The speaker is a large floor speaker that is a very nice piece of furniture - something I didn't want to have to replace. I felt the price was fair for the work completed and am thrilled to now have it working again. I will definitely continue to use Honeydoers for my home improvement.

Not impressed and would not call them again.
Description of Work: After waiting several days for a return call and then having to call them back. They seemed to be "bothered" by my call and inquire of their services. The quick quote over the phone was way out of line. They didn't want to do the job so they outpriced themselves. Would never call them again.

This company responded to my request within several days. I e-mailed my list to them and received a reply within two days. I felt their price was quite high for what I had on the list: $900-$1000 for what they said would be a half-day's work. I deleted some items from the list and asked for a detailed quote including how they were charging, by the hour or a flat rate, and cost of materials and labor. Here is part of my response: "The more work that is done while we are there, the cheaper things are. To separate everything out would be more expensive. The work would be about a half day." I haven't used a handyman before, but his unwillingness to provide details and the high cost were not to my liking, particularly when another handyman had quoted me his hourly rate, exactly what he could do and what he couldn't do.

Response from HONEY DOERS
1. New locks and dead bolt on front door, side garage door, and door from garage to house. Front door is metal clad and currently does not have a dead bolt. I already have the locks. 2. Sump pump: Hose connection is connected to the plastic discharge pipe with a section of flex plastic hose, and the hose is taped to the plastic pipe. There should also be a backflow valve at the pump to keep water from falling back into the sump. 3. A section of electrical wiring needs to be put in conduit on the outlet in the furnace room and the room just outside furnace room. 4. Water softener is improperly plumbed to the water piping with garden hose and common hose clamps. Inspector said this is a job for a plumber. 5. Cap gas line in back of dryer. 6. See why dishwasher is not bringing in water. 7. Install garbage disposal. Actual list of work to be performed. The bid was for over $300 in materials and for 2 men over 5 hours. This was a quote and not an actual bill. We will be the first to say that we are not the cheapest but we always guarantee our service and our customer’s satisfaction. Things are done right the first time and on time.

As a result of undetected water slowly leaking from the sliding shower door, mildew had developed under the flooring and there was a small area of water damage on the wall. Honey Doers were very professional, friendly and prompt. Rick was at my house and had an estimate for me within days of my initial call. He was straightforward (which I appreciated) and told me exactly what his plan was for detecting where the water was coming from and the different scenarios depending on the source of the leak. He started with the most obvious, which was re-caulking the shower and shower door. Once we were confident the leak had stopped, he then moved on to removing the vinyl and the subfloor (I think that's what it's called) that had the mildew and took the toilet out. A subcontractor came to install the new flooring and once the floor was installed, Rick was back within the hour to put the toilet back in place. He had new trim to install but noticed it would not match the older woodwork because the clear finish on it had yellowed. So he had his painter stain the new trim to match the old and was back in a few days to install it. It matched so well you'd never know it wasn't the original trim. Because it was one of those frigid days, I let him use my basement workroom to cut the trim and when he was done, he cleaned it up even cleaner than how he found it! I have a few more projects I'm saving up to do, and will definitely call Honey Doers to do the work!
Description of Work: Bathroom work: re-caulked entire walk-in shower and shower door; tore up old vinyl flooring and subfloor; repaired drywall; installed new trim. Subcontracted installation of new flooring.

I took on the role as general contractor and it was greatly appreciated that they were able to accommodate my calendar to stay on schedule. Rick and Adam came in the day before demolition to remove all of the appliances. They returned after the electrical work for the opening to the kitchen which required a new header with dry wall work. The ceiling work was perfect. Select Surfaces of Roseville (where I purchased the Dupont Zodiac solid surface table) recommended a fairly intricate leg and support system attached onto the island to support the weight of the table. Rick was not comfortable with the weight involved and recommended a commissioned support cabinet that came out beautifully as a much better alternative. I very much appreciated his experience and thinking out of the box by actually disregarding Select Surfaces recommendations which would clearly have been less than ideal. The quality of work was excellent.
Description of Work: I remodeled my kitchen and hired Honey Doers to make a larger opening to the room, drywall the new opening, drywall the ceiling, texture the ceiling, remove and reinstall all appliances, replumb the sink, patch all walls, install a new catch pan under the washing machine, trim out the floor base boards, and design a support system for the solid surface table.
