Our experience with David was wonderful. He was accommodating and prompt. We feared we had roof damage from previous ice dams, but he let us know that the issue was really poor ventilation in the attic causing condensation. He recommended a corrective action and offered a very reasonable quote for the work. We have decided to do the work on our own, but wouldn't hesistate to recommend David's services to others.

The job was done in a very professional manner. The owner Dave Watson was very fair and conscientious. He was very careful about clean-up up all nails to ensure there was no injury to horses (swept with magnets) and he corrected all the minor issues that I pointed out to him with no hesitation or issues. The job was done very well and FJ Construction is highly recommended.

One of the best experiences I have had with a contractor, David Watson provided practical suggestions, answered all my questions, provided a fair estimate for the work and performed the work when he said they would. Excellent communications, good attention to detail, cleanliness/job cleanup was great (I never saw any of the demolition debris, they must have cleaned up every day). Admittedly this was a small project, but I would not hesitate to call David again, no matter how large or small the roofing project.

Actually got this reference from another roofing company because it was a smaller job. Checked this company out on Angies and liked what I read. Dave turned out to be just the guy for the job. He was careful and thoughtful about his work which was nice because this structure is over 100 years old and needs a little TLC. David came over did the estimate in good time explained what was needed and then commenced with the job. It' wasn't until he got the old shingles off that he realized to be code he needed to put new decking on. This upped the price but he was very fair about how much he added to the cost of the job. He and crew were neat and cleaned up after themselves. - No nails to catch on tires or anything of the sort. Really liked the finished product! I'll try to put in a photo. Flashing looks to be installed correctly, shingles cut professionaly to accomidate flashing. Items look like they have always been part of the roof.

Last year I had trouble with ice dams on one corner of my roof. I thought that I needed roof vents to fix the problem. David came to take a look and felt that roof vents wouldn't solve the problem. He recommended adding more insulation below the attic floor to prevent heat loss. He came back a few days later to do the work. He was fast and courteous, did a great job and was honest about what needed to be done. In addition, David emailed me a few months later to see if I have had any ice dam issues this year, which I haven't (so far :) I really appreciated this follow up.

Promptly provided an estimate, and were less than the other two bids. They were able to schedule the work within a week or so. They started on schedule, and completed the work in less than two days (as promised). Very complete, thorough, and professional job. They even cleaned all of the accumulated sludge (from the previous, rapidly deteriorating shingles) out of my gutters as part of their final clean up, which I was not expecting. I am very pleased with the job they did, from start to finish.

David was great. He was able to come out to our home quickly, was right on time, did the repair right away and gave me a very fair price. In addition, he also took the time to take pictures of our roof and emailed them to me later so I could see what had been done. He was incredibly professional and nice. I would not hesitate to use him again and I am recommending him to my friends and coworkers.

I had David handle all the components of the bath remodel. He listened well and he exceeded our expectations. We are very happy with the results.

David came and measured for installation of laminate flooring in main great room, hallways, mudroom, guest bathroom, laundry room, bonus room above garage, and basement bedroom. As you can see, there was a lot of work to be done. David was very competitive in his bid (I asked for bids from 4 contractors) and went with FJ Contruction. The crew showed up ON TIME (not the norm with many contractors) and worked on our floors from morning to night. It was a lot of flooring to install but FJ completed the job in the time that they said they would---again something that most contractors don't stick to. David and his crew did an excellent job and our floors are just beautiful!! I would highly recommend FJ Construction to anyone!!!

FJ Construction had planned to re-roof our garage and install gutters and downspouts in one day but the St. Paul inspector changed their plans by insisting that they replace the underlayment boards that had knotholes, which slowed them down. This meant that they had to come back for part of another day, which I'm sure cut into their profit margin. We are extremely pleased with the work that FJ Construction did for us. David called us a few days after they were done to make sure that we were satisfied. I said that we thought they had done a fine job and that I wished I had been home when they were working because I would have asked him to end the downspouts closer to the ground to help keep the run-off from going into the alley. He said that he wanted me to be completely satisfied and then came back to reconfigure the downspouts for me. We are very satisfied customers of FJ Construction.

I rated the work and overall experience with FJ Construction as A+++. David understood what I wanted and clarified the details. The communication was great and offered several times to continue to stay in communication. After all the work was done a week later a follow up call was made to verify my complete satisfaction. The colors matched unbelievably perfect with the house and David made recommendations that turn out to be very good. I highly recommend and will be using again for shingle replacement soon.
