We called and set up an appointment for Tuesday, September 10 between 5 and 7 pm. No one ever showed up. They were going to come and give us, plus 4 other neighbors an estimate on trimming trees ans having one tree removed. No one ever showed up. We called and left a message but no one has called us back again. Not a company that I would choose to do business with!

This problem occured shortly after some of the major storms. Without any warning a huge branch of our old cottonwood tree fell in our yard, crushing shrubs and filling the yard. I placed several calls to services on Angie's List and Arbor Barber was the first to reply. We discussed the extent of the debris and they were able to give me a reasonable range with reasonable price points over the phone. This was early Friday evening and he indicated they could be at my house Monday morning at 8:00am to do the work. One other service I had called had indicated a wait of two weeks so, based on Angie's List reviews and my desire to get the work done quickly I signed them up. They arrived a little before 8 and got the work done in a very timely and professional way. I really appreciated the clean-up work that was done after the debris was cleared. I would definitely hire them again for this kind of work.

I decided to call and have them do the job. 1st call someone answered and got the information and said they would be in touch with me to set up a time etc. for somewhere around Aug 6-8 as they were busy and couldn't do it until then. I never got a return call. My grandchildren were here for a couple of weeks so I didn't call them as I was busy at the time and thought it could wait. After the kids went home, I called again and again they took the information and said they would call back that day to arrange a time to come. I didn't hear back again from anyone. I called again the next day and got the same person. He said they would come on Thursday Aug 29th at noon to do the job that afternoon. It is now 1:30PM and I have had no call to say they would be late and they have not showed up to do the job. I will not be calling them again. Very disappointed in them and their responses to my calls.

Everything was fine except the owner was grumpy and crabby and did not seem appreciative for the work. He said he wanted cash when I was writing a check and he never once asked for cash in our previous phone calls. The work was done well and they cleanup very nicely. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but a smile never hurts.

tThis event happened suddenly on a Friday afternoon, independent of any of the storms but shortly after a couple of bad storms. I called the first three tree services listed on Angie's list and Arbor Barber responded to my call within 2 hours. We discussed the extend of the tree material and debris and he gave me a fairly narrow range that it would cost and said he could come and do it first thing the following Monday morning. They came promptly (they were actually a few minutes early) and got to work promptly! My husband and I were delighted and greatly relieved at the prompt, high quality service they provided.

The big storm that blew through Minnesota and downed trees all over the metro area a little over a month ago blew down two trees in my yard and severely damaged two others. I had contacted a couple tree companies the day before the storm as I had intended to take out one of the two trees anyway. It was showing signs that it was dying. After the storm I never heard back from either of them. My wife and I spent the entire day after the storm cleaning up the trees that fell and the large branches that came out of the two damaged trees and piled all the brush and sawed logs in the driveway for pickup. Eventually after trying several companies I called Arbor Barber who actually showed up the next day, July 4th and left a bid on my front door. I have dealt with tree removals many times before and was really surprised how reasonable the price was so I was no longer interested in getting any other bids. I accepted the bid immediately. The only stipulation was that they remove the logs and branches from my driveway within a week or so. I have kids still at home, all with cars and there is no overnight parking allowed on city streets. I told Arbor Barber they could remove the trees and stumps when things settled down and they had time. They agreed and said picking up the driveway was no problem as they are actually not far from my home. Before I go on I want to say my job entails dealing with many contractors on a daily basis. I have good long term relationships with some of them partly because I am honest with them about my needs. I tell them truthfully when I need something done. Immediately, tomorrow, within a week or so or when they have time. These contractors appreciate that as they obviously have other customers who have emergencies and demands. The work I give them with no set starting time is fill in when they have cancelations and allows them to keep their workers busy during those slow periods. I thought that handling my tree work could be handled like that. Take the brush and logs now, do the trees later. Big mistake on my part. Apparently most tree companies want to show up, do all the work at once and leave. I waited almost two weeks for the debris to be removed from my driveway before I called for a specific time. I was told next week. That week went by and I called again. Tomorrow was the promise. Tomorrow came and went. Another call. Monday, 7:30. Monday at 10:00 I contacted another company who said they could do it the next day. The price was noticeably higher but was more what I had expected in the first place. I agreed and told them to proceed. At around 3:00 that afternoon Arbor Barber showed up and according to my wife had the debris mostly loaded in 10 minutes. She tried to stop them and tell them we had hired someone else. I finally met with the owner face to face and after arguing a little we agreed to let Arbor Barber do the entire job as long as they came first thing the next day and kept to the agreed upon price. Happily they did show up the next day. They had six guys, all the right equipment and with not a second wasted by any of them they had the entire job done in less than two hours. Very efficient and they did a real good job cleaning up. They omitted a task in their bid which they performed anyway at no additional charge. It has been my experience that all contractors make mistakes sooner or later. The good ones know how and are wiling to fix them. The owner of Arbor Barber is one of them. I would most definitely use them again. You just have to pin them down on dates and time.

As I stated before there was no work done. What a waste of a day off.

This was tricky work because they were huge and arched over electrical wires to the house. They were able to remove everything without adding any more damage to the situation. They were very responsive, one of only two providers I called who managed to come out on short notice to give an estimate and talk with us. With the storms I know it' been a busy time, but we felt like a priority. Not long after the power company cut the power (and made it safe to work) they were out and handling the situation. The process went quickly and smoothly - Amazing! Also, no surprises on the bill.

We awoke at 6 a.m. to find a large oak tree that had fallen on our deck and had taken out a few other trees with it. I tried my other tree guy, and go figure, he didn't answer. I decided to call Arbor Barber because they had gotten good reviews on Angie's List. We were not disappointed. The owner, Vitaliy answered the phone. I explained to him the situation and he said that he would give me a call back in an hour. He called me back an hour later and said that they could be at our house in a half hour. At 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, they arrived at our house and got straight to work. They worked for over four hours removing the 80 ft. oak and other trees. They were very courteous and professional and did a great job raking and cleaning up the site. My husband and I couldn't be happier. Although our deck has sustained some damage, at least we can begin the clean up process. Many thanks, Vitaliy and crew! We will definitely be calling them in the future!

Called in the job on a Monday. The estimate was at my door Monday evening. I agreed to estimate and Arbor Barber was able to come and complete the work by the time I got home from work Tuesday. No issues all around. Area was fully cleaned.

After the big Thursday night storm,I had several large tree limbs dangling over my house - and another large strom was forecasted!!. I called and left a message after I got home from work at 3:00. They responded in 1/2 hour and were there as promised within 20 minutes. The cost seemed high but the demand for tree trimmers was great that day (and I have no point of comparison). They were fun to work with, got the tree limbs down, and thus I had no further damage even though an even bigger storm hit that night. I am very grateful to them for their help and will definitely call on them in the future.

Our front yard has four trees in it, arranged roughly in a square. There are two huge elms closest to the house, and a white birch and a young oak closer to the street. The elms suffered some damage in a recent storm, so we checked Angie's List (first-time use) for a certified arborist. I was intrigued by a previous review for this merchant because of a statement that he provided excellent services at very reasonable cost. On my calling, Vitally set an appointment to come and do a free estimate. As we spoke on site, he offered to do all the trees for a set price. Imagine my surprise when that turned out to be only $500, plus the sales tax! Others had quoted that much just to come trim and haul away the two broken branches. His price included cleaning the yard, hauling away all the scrap, and leaving the cut-and-pruned branches for me to cut up for firewood. His people were to come on 05 July. On the afternoon of 03 July, he called to ask if it would be OK for his men to come instead in the morning on 04 July so they could take the rest of the week and weekend off as a holiday. There was no added charge for working on a holiday. My wife was delighted and agreed. Vitally's brother and another man arrived at 07:55 to begin work at 08:00, as agreed. They were very professional, used proper equipment and safety gear, and handled their tools and equipment in a well-trained manner. One man went up each of the elm trees, and they finished their work almost simultaneously. That included removing dead branches from the entire tree crown to trunk, removing overhanging and near-to-house branches, shaping, and removing all drooping branches. They even removed a branch from one tree that stuck out directly toward my flagpole so it would not interfere with Old Glory. For the other two trees, they removed the drooping branches and shaped both, as agreed in the estimate. The brother also quickly removed most if not all of the dead branches on the birch, which had not been in the estimate, at no extra charge. Both men hauled away the cut scrap and fed it to a huge, industrial-sized chipper that could handle logs up to a foot in diameter if needed. Needless to say, that process went very quickly. Then they raked the entire yard, removing all but 6 inch length or less twigs (my lawn mower will make short work of those!) and a very few leaves. When they left, the lawn was clean and neat, as was the driveway where the chipper had been sitting. I am thoroughly impressed. These men were in and out again in less than two hours, all the work was done in a very professional manner, the cleanup was perfect. There was no haggling, no attempt to increase the price based on time or tasks done, no hassle, everything done to perfection. In the bargain, two days later, I cut up the logs they left into about a stove-cord and a half of prime firewood. My daughter, who heats with wood, will be ecstatic. By the way, the brother took the time to teach me how to properly file the teeth on my own chainsaw, and gave me experience-based advice on what kinds of saws work best. That was way above and beyond the call of duty. I am not sure what the issue was regarding the incident that resulted in the one negative review, but I offer this suggestion. If you hire a tradesman for any job, please recall that they are human beings, just like you. Stuff happens. People do make mistakes occasionally. If you have a problem (no show, late, failure to communicate), instead of blowing up just give them a call. Often times, you will find that there either was a misunderstanding, or something fell through the crack. Be willing to work out a fix for the problem. Be reasonable. Of course, make a note of the problem in your comments here, but be fair. If the tradesman resolved the issue willingly, also note that. I heartily recommend Arbor Barber. I would use them again, and will recommend them to friends, neighbors, and relatives. Their pricing is (very!) reasonable, their responsiveness is excellent, and their work and work ethic is the best I ever have seen.

We were waiting for another tree service to provide an estimate, and we actually have to yet to hear back from them 4 days later. Vitaliy took the initiative to contact us when he saw our tree was down, while he was working in the neighborhood. Vitaliy and his crew arrived early, set up the crane, and removed the tree in 30 minutes. They got it out without any further damage, and our window, gutters and roof are all intact! He was very careful to work within the limits of our insurance, and really knows his business. Vitaliy also came back and ground the stump as quickly as possible, which was crucial because we needed to put our house on the market the next week. His quick response let us reseed the lawn in time to list the house as planned. This was serious customer service, because the storm that downed our tree caused a lot of destruction throughout South Minneapolis and I know he was extremely busy and could easily have put the stump job off for several weeks.

It was a great experience. They were quick, efficient, well priced, and they just did a great job. I would use them again in the future.

Very prompt. Arrived ten minutes early. Charged the exact price we were quoted over the phone. Arborist also provided advice on how to manage a silver maple in our backyard. Advice was very helpful and he did not recommend anything beyond things I can do myself. We'll definitely contact this company for future needs.

They backed into our driveway to use the bucket truck. Tree was leaning over neighbor's house and over shaded the deck. The were very careful with not harming structures or plants around the deck. Cleaned up almost every bit of mess, even blew the driveway clean. The tree looks great...and "happy". We were thinking of taking the tree down, glad we didn't.

I spoke with Vitaly on the phone regarding removal of a tree stump. He quoted $100 for the job. We agreed on Friday May 17 at 8:00 am. He never came to do the work or called to let me know there was an issue.

It went very well. They were very professional and quick. I was extremely happy with the work and the price. Thank you Arbor Barber. P.S. I love the name.

I would use them again and I highly recommend them.

It?s always a pleasure to do business with people who care and are good at what they do. I had this experience with Vitaliy Savchenko of Arbor Barber. Vitaliy arrived on time for the estimate and accurately captured the tasks that I had hoped to accomplish ? thinning out two mature maples and one oak in our front yard and raising the crowns and removing dead branches from three mature oaks in the back yard. The estimate was detailed and fair. Vitaliy and his crew arrived on time the day the work was scheduled and got to work immediately. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. Four and one half hours later, they left the yard cleaner than when they arrived. Without a second thought, I will call them again whenever I have tree-related issues to deal with.

From start to finish, I was very happy with the Arbor Barber. I will be calling them again. They did their work safety and professionally and were prompt and cleaned up well.

Arbor Barber was terrific! Vitalie was on time for our estimate and was even early on the day they did the work. We were having fence posts installed at the same time and Vitalie worked with the fence company to make sure the fence would clear all the trees and branches. I think we got great service for a great price. From start to finish (including clean up) took less than 2 hours. I wouldn't use anyone else!

Very impressed with Vitaly and his team. Service was excellent. Provided a detailed estimate. Showed up on time, reviewed work they would be doing, did an excellent job, cleaned up afterward. Impressed with their competence.

It went very well. I had to wait until he showed up and then went to work. When I got back home, it was done to my specifications.
