Melon Man was punctual and courteous and was always on time and his estimate was right on. This is the best handyman I have ever used and will use him again. I am going to ask him to do the french door I need leading from one room to the other. I am so overwhelmed I found someone reasonable and dependable. And he has been so busy and he still came to help us. What a guy! I do not take finding a good person lightly......

I gave Andrew a try on a friend's recommendation, and am so glad I did. Its hard to find someone willing to do a range of smaller projects in a quality manner and at a reasonable price. I was able to get on his calendar quickly to install some new lighting fixtures located in a rather difficult position at the top of a steep stairway. By the time he arrived, I had quite a list going of other little odds and ends I needed help with, which he cheerfully agreed to tackle. The lighting fixtures required a 3-way switch with dimmers, and quality work was important for something involving electricity. He had all the tools, special ladders etc to complete all my tasks which also included hanging some large heavy drapes and an oversized painting. I appreciated his prompt, friendly, manner and the tidy clean up he did once finished. I would definitely use Andrew again for his versatility, reasonable pricing and quality work.

I have had Melon Man do several projects for me & couldn’t be happier. Andrew is professional, trustworthy, punctual, does extremely nice work & when he is done I don’t have a huge mess to clean up. When we replaced the front door on our home, the “custom” built door was smaller than it was supposed to be. Andrews problem solving skills actually made the job turn out looking better than if the door had come the correct size. Issue #1: The Melon Man LLC does not have WC insurance. He is not required (by MN law to carry it, but he may purchase it). During the process of our discussion, our HOA president contacted Mr. Scrivener and was told by him that he was forbidden by the state of MN to carry WC. That is absolutely NOT true. He told her that he would get it if he could. The MN Department of Labor and Industry - WC division - was contacted, SFM (a WC company - a discussion was had with an underwriter) and Mr. Scrivener's insurance agent was also contacted to verify what he claimed. All agree that the only reason that he would not be able to get WC insurance is if he chooses to not have it. As a single member LLC, he is not required by the state to have it, but he absolutely CAN get it. (Each person contacted said that he likely has money due from an audit that would have to be paid prior to starting a new policy for his current business.) Our president hired him anyway. He came out on July 9th to do the job. We wanted two gates to get additional latches that would work even when the gates started to shift due to changes in the weather. Our HOA president had some ideas she had shared with Mr. Scrivener and said she was confident he would be able to do something that would work. (The issue was needing some sort of a latch that could would be able to latch even if the gates shifted - because they shift every winter.) The other part of the job was to replace siding. Issue #2: He left the job incomplete and did not do what was requested. Mr. Scrivener put on a ridiculous latch that will not work when the gates shift (so the original problem still exists). He also either sanded or cut a portion each of the gates and left the wood exposed (instead of sealing them with paint - which he either could have brought or used what we have leftover from when the gates were repainted).

Andrew is very professional in everything he does and communicates very well and in a timely manner. His work was done on time and even though the door had to be special ordered and had a long lead time, he kept me up to date on delivery schedule and installed the fire door shortly after it arrived. While waiting for the pre-painted door to ship, he completed each of the many other items. Following time of sale inspection, there were a few additional maintenance items that became evident and Andrew quickly provided an estimate and completed the work. I understand why Melon Man gets the service award, he works hard to earn it and I highly recommend him.

Excellent, third or fourth time we have used Melon Man.

We have had Andrew here before and, as usual, he did a wonderful job! We had a very long list of items to be done (6 hours) and he tackles each item with skill and enthusiasm. Our largest project was the replacement of upper deck rails that had rotted over time. With preplanning, Andrew cut new prepainted 2X4s to size, repaired the upright posts, installed the rails, and sealed the ends to avoid future water damage. Our old worn out florescent under cabinet lights were replaced with new LED fixtures making the kitchen bright and functional again. Andrew works very efficiently and always cleans up at the end so you don't even know he was there. We highly suggest Andrew for anything you need done around the house!

Andrew did an amazing job on our Andersen patio doors. We were told by Andersen that we would have to replace the doors and that they were not fixable. Andrew was able to fix our warped doors so they are functional again and they look great! Thanks, Melon Man!!

Andrew was very responsive, organized and timely. His quote was exactly what he charged me and I felt it was a very fair price. He was very neat and tidy with his work which I appreciated very much. Hired Melon Man / Andrew based on his versatility and breadth of repair skills. We had to schedule the final repair patch a few weeks from first estimate/investigation. Thankfully time and damage weren't critical, and Andrew's thorough review revealed the likely source of the recurring cracking (unfastened joist). Patch seamlessly blends in with textured ceiling put in at least 15 years' previously. Big plus that he kept repair material away from bleeding / covering contrasting paint on adjoining wall, so I needed to do only the slightest touch-up.

Projects went well. Andrew responded within half a day. Glad projects weren't urgent, as the nearest best date for the projects was almost 3 weeks from initial contact. Andrew was prompt, worked quietly and efficiently, asked / communicated when necessary-- just a pleasant man. We also set up two more appointments for him to repair the crack in textured ceiling.
