Description of Work: I had Andrew demo my master bathroom, which included a build in shower enclosure, a vanity and a built in medicine cabinet. He provided a very clear, comprehensive estimate prior to starting the work. Once the plumbers installed the new shower, Andrew then came back and patched over the hole left by the medicine cabinet and installed the new light fixture, vanity and mirror. He was extremely professional, courteous and polite. He took great care to clean up each day and make sure he wasn't tracking outside dirt into my home. He constantly checked in with me to ensure things were being installed where I wanted them (height of light fixture, location of mirror, did I want the vanity right up against the wall or offset, etc.), which I greatly appreciated. He asked questions about things I'd never even thought of. He was also very good about working around my schedule, when needed. The only reason I rated a B under quality for two things. First, the estimate included installing a vapor barrier in the shower area, it butted up against an outside wall. There had been a previous vapor barrier, but upon removing the shower enclosure, it revealed itself to be chewed up pretty badly by mice. Not knowing anything about this stuff, I thought since Andrew left it like that, it must be ok...until the plumber came out. He said a new vapor needed to be installed and to avoid any delays in the project schedule, he would do it if I went out and purchased the needed materials (he gave me a list...I was clueless). The other issue was the drywall patching was uneven in several spots. I did not call him back out to fix it as I thought it wouldn't show once I painted. Sadly, I was mistaken, but I'm the only one who notices it. I have no doubt had I called him, he would have gladly come back out to remedy the situation.

Description of Work: Installed new vanity, faucet, light fixture, mirror and shower door. Fixed shower faucet. Andrew was prompt and pleasant to work with. He ran into some problems with my old plumbing attaching the new shower faucet. He came back and was able to rectify the problem. I would definitely recommend Andrew and will call back for future projects.

+ 0 moreFirst Andrew fixed the blind when he came out to take a look at the whole job. It took him less then five minutes to fix something we had been trying to figure out for sometime. He did this before we had even officially hired him for the job. He gave us an estimate and was able to do schedule the job within a week. He took the screen door off and flipped it so it now opens the opposite way. It is so much nicer to get in and out of the front door now rather then getting in between the door and the side of the house. The whole job took 2 and a half hours. Andrew was very nice and professional and tolerated our dog who often wants to play.
Description of Work: We had a storm door installed by a friend that was put in the wrong way. Our door is right against the brick of the house and it makes more sense to have the storm door open the opposite of the front door. We needed it reversed. We also had a blind that had come come partly undone that needed to be fixed.

The work was excellent. We would highly recommend him because he really took the time to think about the project and figure out how to accomplish it at minimal cost to us.
Description of Work: Andrew replaced damaged siding on our home. This required some creativity and problem solving on his part because we had only a few pieces of extra siding, and several areas of damage.

+ 1 moreAndrew called back right away to get the details of the project, gave me a rough estimate over the phone and called my renter to set up the appointment within a day or two.While on the project, the storm door installation went great. He had all required parts to do the job and was done in the time he said it would take. I also asked him to install a fold down set of steps for the garage attic, while on the job he noticed the structure of the garage roof is not rated to hold any extra weight such as storage items. Being a rental property he recommended we not put the door and steps in so people wouldn't overload the roof trusses. I appreciated his professional opinion and decided not to install the steps. Instead I asked him to patch existing hole that I cut earlier. He happily changed course, He may have had to run and get a piece of drywall to make the repair. Overall I will use Melon Man again in the spring for a couple other projects around the house and would recommend him to anyone looking for a handyman.

+ 2 moreAndrew Scrivener is the owner of this company and is wonderful to work with. He is a handyman and he is registered and licensed. He is wonderful. He mainly worked with my husband. He helped us when we put in a wood burning fire place; he helped us when we replaced a mail box. We live in the country but it had been taken out by car. He helped us when we had a son with special need; he helped us when we had to re fit some of things like a bathroom. Part of what is great about Andrew is that he is really pleasant, hard working, he is dependable, and he shows up. He cleans up after he is done so he does not leave anything. You can have your family around and he is not swearing or anything. He is just personable, hardworking and honest. My husband is pretty handy too but Andrew makes a nice person to work with. I know other people who have also worked with him and they all really like him. We will continue to use him in the future.
Description of Work: Sometime this fall we had Melon Man LLC to do the refitting of the bathroom and also do remodeling our son’s bedroom.

In addition he recommended solutions and provided ideas that were very useful. His estimate was detailed. We had asked that each sub-project be priced separately and that was done. Andrew always let me know before arriving to do the work and was very professional and efficient. He discussed the status of the jobs with me as they were being completed. These were not large projects but Andrew handled each one of them with a high degree of professionalism. That would suggest he would be an excellent choice for larger projects as well. After the work was completed, the bill was reduced to 100 dollars. the work was cleaned and the soffit works good. I would use his work again.

(I had thought I might need to get a whole new front door/sidelight unit.) All work was completed carefully, competently, and completely. Overall, I think the work took longer than the number of hours in the estimate but I was not charged for additional hours not identified in the estimate. Andrew also researched options for a replacement shed. I definitely will have him do work in the future, starting with a replacement shed!
Description of Work: Andrew completed four projects. He dismantled a caved-in hoop shed, covered contents with a tarp, and brought frame pieces to a recycle. He moved, cut up, and placed old rotted barn boards in a dumpster. He repaired my front door/sidelight frames: cleared away rotted wood from frame and refurbished using wood inserts and wood epoxy. He removed front screen door and replaced rotted piece of door trim. Lastly, he re-screened sliding patio screen door with heavier-weight screen.
