Someone came out and carefully measured before we had to sign a contract which was itemized and with "free install" Price very similar to another vendor, but Glowing Hearth was more careful in explaining all the choices and steps. Work scheduled in advance, and performed on time, except a couple items had to be back ordered

+ -1 moreA little bit rocky at first and it took a good 5 weeks before we able to get our fireplace installed correctly. In Oct. of 2014 we had problems with the pilot light and they had to com e out and service it. We had a crack in the upper housing, which was repaired in 2015. In Sept. of 2016 they had to put in a new module because when we started it up there was no flame. In the end we are very happy with it and Jeff was wonderful to work with, through all the problems.
Description of Work: They put a gas insert; converted our wood burning fireplace to gas.

The original contact to view the showroom and get a quote was quick and easy, and Mickey was very helpful. All of the workers who came to our home were right on time, skilled, and did a magnificent job, and the work passed inspection without a problem. Our new stacked stone fireplace and the gas insert to replace our old wood burning fire box are beautiful. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

+ 0 moreWe started out with lots of questions because some recent remodel work had been an awful experience; Mickey was very patient and helped us through the entire process. It went very well! Very professional by all members of the team @ Glowing Hearth and Home! Mickey, Dave and Ed all did a great job and were cordial and friendly as well as doing excellent work for us. We did have a bit of a challenge for our hearth stone, because we wanted the tile we had replaced with a solid piece of stone; this required involving another vendor that GH&H recommended. It all worked out very well, the hearth stone was cut and placed the the fireplace set, inspected and the beautiful surrounding stone set. It turned out better than we had imagined! Overall, a very positive experience! We'd recommend them to family and friends, which we already have done.
Description of Work: Worked with us to find a solution for our fireplace remodel that met our needs and wants and was within the budget we had established. Mickey (in the Savage location) showed us samples of the fireplaces, samples of surround materials, etc. and explained what was to be done and answered all our questions as the process went along to completion.

Everyone at Glowing Hearth was extremely courteous and professional throughout the sale and installation process. They also had the best price we could find for what we wanted. I would not hesitate to work with Glowing Hearth again in the future!

+ -1 moreEveryone was very helpful. Dave gave us the estimate and helped explain to my husband where to put the outlet as he was doing the electrical himself. Mark in the showroom showed me all the options with no pressure. Josh did the scheduling and he worked around the other remodelers in our home. Scott and crew installed it quickly. Dave did the finishing of getting it running and explaining everything. Excellent communication through the whole process.

+ -1 moreIt could not have been better - the salesman, Tom Shimek, did an excellent job of giving me the options available that would work in my space and in helping me to pick the design that would work the best for me. Tom was very professional and knowledgeable about the products and was able to steer me to a good choice. The installer and his assistant, also very professional, had to spend extra time making adjustments to get the insert to fit exactly into my space and they took whatever time was needed to make sure everything was done exactly right. They also explained and demonstrated how to operate the fireplace and the remote in a way I could easily understand. I love the fireplace insert and have not had a single problem with its operation, it also has a great look.

Description of Work: The representative we worked with at the showroom was very nice. The bad part of our experience with this company is finding out that the timeline and process of installing a gas insert was very disappointing. We ordered gas inserts based on measurements that the company's contracted technicians made. When the installers came to install the inserts, they did not fit. We had to go through the process of reordering completely different inserts, which at the new size were very limited in options. Another two weeks went by before we heard anything. The manager called to inform us that the installers would be out the following day for install. They showed up mid-day, installed one of two inserts and we pointed out that one of the inserts they had for us was not ours. Turns out the installers had installed one of ours in another home. They packed up went back to the previous home and switched out inserts. Our second insert was installed later in the evening. The gas pipes the technicians left was ugly and protrusive in my garage as there was a lot of extra pipe left protruding and hanging from the wall. The gas inserts are nice but only after a month of use, one of the inserts remote sensor has to be placed outside of the insert because it constantly beeps from the high heat. Unfortunately the inserts we bought only heats our livingroom, so any future inserts we get would have a blower and also be from another company.

+ -1 moreMickey Krouse was very helpful in identifying the units that would fit our see-through fireplace and answered all our questions as they came up. The measuring, electrical and installation of the inserts were all done professionally by friendly, courteous workmen. We were nervous about workmen going on our snow covered split shake roof but they came prepared with a hook ladder that slipped over the peak. This allowed them to go safely onto the roof. They explained what they were going to do before and asked our permission. The job was done in a timely manner which allowed us to have a working fireplace for Thanksgiving.
Description of Work: Installed two Kozy Chaska 34-L gas fireplaces inserts with proper ventilation in our existing see-through fireplace.
