Wagner Sod, Landscaping and Irrigation Co., Inc

Wagner works with our construction company for our new housing development. They came out to sod our neighbors' yards (ours was completed by another company) in the late Spring of 2019 and the driver of the forklift/foreman continued to drive over our yard and was breaking our sprinkler heads and damaging our new sod. My husband asked him to stop politely but after going out for the THIRD time to remind him to not drive on our yard things go heated. The driver of the forklift began threatening to beat up my husband, swearing and yelling and was revving his engine at him as if to hit him. The rest of the high school workers (15 or so of them) all circled the two and began also threatening my husband. I began filming this and that's when the situation broke up. My husband emailed the owner(?) and complained but received a lukewarm "sorry. we'll talk to him," response. Since then, every time they are in our neighborhood their 3 trucks make a point to drive to our isolated cul de sac, revving their engines at our house or at us if we're outside and this past weekend flipped us off. Wagner Sod is a bunch of thugs and I strongly warn you about working with them.

Had big landscaping project started in Fall with expectations of Spring completion. Yard was completely torn up. Was getting ready for backyard wedding reception and other landscaper fell behind and canceled 3 weeks before the party. I called Wagner Sod and explained the situation and they had the work done in a week.

All I can say is Buyer Beware. They will take your money and run. If I could give zero stars I would. This is how shady they are. I called to ask if I could have them come out to start my sprinkler system. The lady on the phone said, "We're running a special on the spring start up and fall shut down. We discussed the price and what that covered. At no time was I offered any other options. More importantly, at no time was I told this was a no money back situation. Nor was it on my invoice. They were unable to fit me in for 4 weeks, which in an ordinary spring might have been fine. I scheduled with them. But then the weather really heated up for an extended period of time and so I needed water, and I opened and used my sprinkler system on my own. I emailed Wagner Sod to cancel my appointment and refund my money, three weeks before the scheduled appointment. At that time I was told Nope. This was a no money back deal. So, they have stolen my money, essentially, without clearly describing important information which would help make my decision. So UNETHICAL. When I called to them how I felt they were very dismissive. I was told that the explanation for no money back was in the set of brochures they sent me which advertised their services. This of course was after they took my credit card information and charged me, sealing the deal. DO NOT EVER consider using this company! Run the other way.

Wagner Sod was the most responsive of the 6-7 companies we received a bid from. They did a great job and I would definitely hire them again!

They were outstanding. They did everything in two days. They cleared off the yard and replaced the sod.

The price was a little steep.

Wager Sod did a terrible job. They put in the sod and irrigation system, but forgot the landscaping. They came out only after we had inquired about the landscaping. Then, instead of moving the irrigation system to accomodate the landscaping, they just buried it with the landscaping rocks, dirts, and plants. Plus, they planted a tree INFESTED with thousands of japanese beetles. We couldn't turn on the sprinklers because they were buried by dirt and rocks. They refused to acknowledge that they planted an infested tree. The other trees and shrubs started dying soon after they were planted, and they refuse to offer any solutions. They ignore my emails and phone calls. What a terrible business.

We decided to expand our front yard landscaping this summer. We are pretty opinionated as far as our aesthetic and even specific rocks and plants, so I would consider us to be challenging clients. Keeping that in mind, Katie did our landscape plan for us and we were happy. Wagner is near our home and they have done a lot of landscaping in our neighborhood. We wanted our landscaping to fit, yet to be specific to our home and unique. That required incorporating several of the plants we use in the backyard, and actually working with a different company to do part of our boulder work. Katie not only listened to us about what we wanted in a plan (she asked us what we hate. That is a really good question all landscapers should ask), but she broke down their bid completely so we could really piece out what we wanted to do with Wagner, what we wanted to do ourselves, and what other companies we might want to use to do part of the work. I ultimately used most of Katie’s plan for making the beds (I messed with it a bit, and Katie didn't miss a beat), had Wagner make the beds and install edging, separately purchased the boulder outcroppings for the beds and had Katie and her team place those. I also was delighted to have Wagner irrigation solve my irrigation issues that came up with the new beds, and they were great (I will use them exclusively for my irrigation needs from here on out). My only complaint was that sometimes responsiveness wasn’t the best, requiring calls or emails from me to follow up on when work would be done (especially regarding some follow-up irrigation). However, some of that problem was built in by me anyway because I was using multiple companies to get things done. Also, Katie and her team literally worked in the pouring rain to get the boulders placed before it would be too late and push back the finish date. Overall, really nice people, beautiful work, and a patient, creative landscaper. We look forward to using Wagner again as we further expand our landscaping.

They were prompt and did everything as expected. They came back and made some adjustments and they did an excellent job.

Started two weeks beyond agreed start date,Ground repair very uneven, needed to be re-done after evasive efforts by WagnerOne tree was dead when planted.Damaged established lawn, refused responsebility.Soil brought in contained shards of glass and pieces of wire.Confrontational to the end.

I met with Paul the first day to discuss layout and price. Started about a week later, they came on time took about a day and a half to install. Very professional.Had a problem with smart control (my fault) Charlie came ot to go over it with me,great great help. Thanks so much for all your service. .

They were very prompt with coming out to give an estimate, and it was very close to the other estimates we received. There were a few communication gaps with scheduling the sod installation, including them calling the day of the scheduled install and postponing a day. On the day of actual installation, a crew arrived, worked with us to plan the grading for best water drainage and the border of the sod next to our landscaping and patio, and installed the sod. They were extremely professional and polite. Overall, they did a great job, and our yard looks great 3 weeks later. I'd use them for other landscaping projects.

Called and scheduled an estimator to come to my house. Appointment was from 4-5pm with Norbert who is also part owner of the company according to the receptionist. Left work early to meet him at home and he didn't show up. No call was made to notify me. When I called the next morning they claimed they had "technical difficulties" and couldn't make the appointment. I rescheduled for the following Wednesday from 5-6 again with Norbert the owner. Again he was a no show. They left a message on my work phone at 5:30 that evening letting me know that he couldn't find my address. If their attention to detail, punctuality, and professionalism are any indication of the actual work they perform, I would definitely not recommend using this company.
