Andy is very nice, professional and knowledgable. The price was on the high end, but the quality was worth it.

Project Pro's provided an accurate estimate in a timely fashion. Although I needed to be somewhat flexible with the start and end date of the project the work provided was of high quality. I was especially impressed with their attention to detail in finish work. I will definitely work with them on future projects in my home.
Description of Work: Stacked stone fireplace wall. Painting of woodwork. New banister, mantle, and handrail.
Good quote and contract provided. Project was small enough to take 2-3 weeks in total. It ended up taking 3+ months. (I'm still waiting on one piece, with no expectation of completion). Poor communication along the way. Consistenly overpromising and underperforming. He or his employees would do demolition, then disappear for 2 weeks at a time. I provided 3 firm deadlines (after almost 3 months), which went unmet. During the last 2 weeks, I had to call Andy every day to coax him into finishing the project. Subcontractors (especially vinyl) did a mediocre job. This is a young and likable guy who is still trying to find the right projects & workload. He shows promise, but needs to improve time management and communication skills.

Andy and his company did a fabulous job on my bathroom! Andy had good communication with me throughout the project and was always very professional. I have been very pleased with the quality of the work and Andy showed very good attention to detail. Any questions I had were answered along the way. I have had many compliments on the outcome of the bathroom. I thought his price was fair and came in on budget. It was easy to work with his company.I would definitely use Project Pros for other jobs at my house.

I made an appointment to have an estimate on finishing my basement. Andy wrote down the wrong date to begin with and did not show up so we had to reshedule. When he did come out he said he could get me an estimate in about a week and a half. Two and a half weeks later I called and he said he had gone on vacation and did not have it done yet.He said that he would have it to me within the next two days. Four days later I called him and told him I did not have the estimate yet. He said that he lost my email address and even though I spelled it out for him and gave him the address 3 times, I still have not received the bid and that was 8 days ago. I certainly am not going to hire a company to refinish my basement that is that unorganized and unprofessional.

The first project was a small laundry room area, the "bid" was OVERPRICED on the companies part and you could tell they were not happy when we chose to save money on certain items needed for this project. They were constantly late! Excuses after excuses...The second project was a dressing room and bath/shower areas. From the start communication between Andy and his employees was an epic fail! We felt like we were not important and were told we were a "filler" job! The first day showed up 5 hours late! Promised to stay "late" and went home a few hours later... "I'm spent, too tired to do this work"... The lack to professionalism on Project Pro's part was unacceptable!

I called Andy on Wednesday May 2, 2012 at 8: 25 AM and asked him if he would be interested on giving me an estimate on the work I wanted completed. He said he would but he was busy and could he call me Monday May 7, 2012. I said that would be fine but it would have to be after 2:30 PM because I was busy and away until then. Monday came and went with no call from Andy. Tuesday May 8, 2012 at 1:30 PM I called Andy and asked him if he was still interested in giving me an estimate and he said yes. He said he didn't call because he was too busy. He asked me if he could come out late this week. At that point I said Thursday mornig May 10th at 8:00 AM would work for me and asked him if it would work for him. He said yes but stated if he was busy he would call. I choose Project Brothers and him to give me an estimate based on two factors. One is that he has a good rating on Angies list and second he is a local contractor in my area. In fact his business address is about a mile from my house. If he is to busy or really doesn't want the work just say so. Don't tell a person one thing and not follow through with it. It makes me wonder what the project would have been like I called him back later and told him to forget abut my project.

This work went very well and as I expected. Andy and/or his employees arrived when expected. They were professional, competent, and very concerned that everything was done as I asked. Andy cared about my financial issues, did a superb job, and overall I would hire them again, no questions asked.
Description of Work: Bathroom remodel. Tub, shower surround, cabinet, mirror, lights, flooring all changed out. Cleanup was done everyday, all shoes were removed, no damage was done to anything else in the house. I received the same consideration while they were working in a modest townhouse as I would have received if they were working in a mansion.

Demolition started with removing the old cabinets, a closet, three layers of old flooring and the lath and plaster. Some new construction changed the shape of the room and improved the traffic flow. Then came the new drywall and electrical. The remaining gaps in the ceiling and walls were covered up and all was painted. New lighting was installed. The cabinets were assembled (IKEA) and installed. Granite countertops were installed and the plumbing for the sink and dishwasher was completed. The floor was sanded and coated. A new entry door was installed. Final paint touch up and it was done. It took about 6 weeks.
Description of Work: Project Pros remodeled our kitchen, which included new cabinets and appliances, new drywall, refinishing the existing hardwood floor and updating the electrical and plumbing. Our small 1920's kitchen now looks a lot bigger with more efficient use of the space. Their attention to detail is evident in the good job they did and we are very happy with the results.

ProjectPros did an outstanding job. They started on time, made adjustments during the process as we saw ways to improve our original plan. They completely tore apart the laundry room, carried away all refuse. Painted walls, installed tile flooring, constructed shelves along one wall to our specifications, installed upper and lower cabinets with pull out shelves on the lower cabinets. Moved dryer vent for new stacked washer/dryer. They left everything immaculate when they were finished.

The project turned out really good. I already had everything set up for them. All they had to do was install it. The guy seemed to be pretty trusting. He lives close to where I live so that made it easy. The only thing that did happen is that it took him a while to get in here because he was so busy. He did my work in three days. It was a little out of time but it was fine because where they are out of was close to where I am at. Other than that I don't have any complaints. They did a nice job.

Andy was very responsive and his whole crew was very professional. I felt very comfortable contacting Andy with questions about our project. He was able to schedule the work in a reasonable time frame that worked well for my family. The work took about three times longer than originally expected, however, much of this had to do with delays in receiving ordered items. Once these things did arrive, however, they were usually being installed within about 24 hours. Everything was done very well and looks great.
Description of Work: We had a variety of work that needed to be done in our basement and in our back entryway, including replacing two of our supports beams and filling a large hole in our laundry room. The other work included putting new flooring in and painting a basement workroom and stairway and patching some of the cracks in the plaster walls. Our whole back entry needed to be redone due to ice dam damage including replacing the ceiling, part of the wall and the entire door frame and interior and exterior doors.

It started out well. The crew was on time the first day and removed old drywall and insulation quickly. Performed inspection and installed new drywall etc. They were faster than we had anticipated. They were finished with the whole job in under two days. We have a few complaints. The major one was that the people didn't cover the entire area with drop cloths etc. It was just one drop cloth under where they were working. The entire areas were left dirtier than when they entered to do the job. The carpets were not covered during any of the work (removal or mudding and sanding etc.). They also didn't cover all of the vents as requested. When we mentioned that we were dissatisfied with this and that we were going to be forced to shampoo carpets, owner was dismissive. He said, "The material (mud, debris etc.) isn't toxic so we don't need to do anything." We didn't agree. We have a small child/crawler and a baby on the way. We cannot allow our children to crawl or put mouths on carpet that has that debris in/on it. We feel that it was unprofessional for the company not to cover the area properly. It is our belief that an area that a company is working on should be left as clean as when they entered. Lastly, the owner showed up an hour later than stated to haul away debris and finish the job. Never called to say he was going to be late. The work the company did was good. It was the attention to detail and the professionalism that was a disappointment.

I contacted Andy and received a response that same day. He was easy to contact via email or telephone. Knowing that we were in a time crunch and down to one toilet, he fitted in our work needs at the end of the day. He was knowledgeable and reassuring to a non-DIY homeowner, which I greatly appreciated. He is a young guy, but don't let that fool you. He knows his stuff. My house was owned by a half-ways do-it yourselfer who made a lot of mistakes...we call these projects wallified. Lol. Andy was able to repair most, and contracted for a plumber to repair what he couldn't. We picked out the trim and vinyl from a local home store and he picked it up and installed it. I have a crazy filled house of kids and animals, and Andy was non-nonplussed by it all. I added on the caulking and new doorknobs last minute, as I saw how well and easily he knew his stuff. I am ecstatic to have my bathroom back, and we are priming and painting it ourselves. Andy provided excellent, knowledgeable and reasonably-priced service to this freaked out single mom. It was a nice change! I am actually about to contact him for another small, wallified issue with my kitchen sink. Thanks, Project Pros!
Description of Work: Removed old vinyl flooring from plywood floor, replaced part of flooring that was water-damaged, removed broken toilet, removed partial floating floor remaining, appropriately contracted plumber for broken toilet flange/install, laid new vinyl flooring, applied new trim, caulked bathroom vanity, replaced two doorknobs.
The Project Pros description “Project Pros is a professional company that takes pride in our work” was the first thing that got my attention as I have had to many projects completed without the attention to detail that comes with being proud of the accomplishment. Now that the work is completed I can attest to the truth of that statement. Andy came out to assess the job, gave us some ideas, and sent an estimate all within just a few days of my call and once we selected his company he had us scheduled for the work in good time. The first day Andy and Scott built a new bulkhead to hide exposed heating ducts. the next day the sheet rock was installed and the upstairs drywall repairs were made, then two days of taping, mudding and sanding (wow I have never seen a job that smooth). Finally they put on two coats of paint and lowered the cabinets in our kitchen We are very happy with the completed work that Andy, and his guys did for us. They were all very professional, explained everything well, left the work areas clean, and gave us such a sense of confidence that we are already planning to have Project Pros do our next projects as well.
Description of Work: Our project was to dry wall, mud, sand, and paint our basement ceiling as well as some extensive drywall repair work upstairs and lowering our kitchen cabinets.
After calling Andy he was prompt in coming over and looking at what we wanted to do and giving us options on how to do the work - he gave us a bid right away and it was very reasonable. Once Andy started work he was very professional about it in not only explaining what he was doing but how long it would take and so forth - the work required several days to complete and he always showed up when he said he would and he was willing to accommodate our schedules - his work was excellent and we could not be more pleased with the results - plus the workers he occasionally brought with him were very professional - there is no question but that we would hire Andy again - we highly recommend Andy for any remodeling work you may have.
Description of Work: We hired Andy to do two projects in our home - both involved general carpentry in building and sheetrocking walls and repairing water damage.
The timing on my project was going to be difficult - I was closing on a Monday and wanted all of this done by the next Thursday. Andy was scheduled to meet me on Tuesday morning at the house. I think everything went as planned (I had another contractor meeting me either before or after and one or the other had to reschedule - I honestly can't remember which one). Andy started work on the next Monday (a short 3 days before I wanted it all done). Andy was at the house numerous times in order to finish everything on time. Because of a slight delay in the sheetrock drying, the project was finished slightly later than planned, but it was all done before the new furniture got delivered (Friday). Everything turned out great - actually better than expected. The wood floor, although I decided not to refinish it at this point (didn't want the inconvenience right now), looks really good, Andy and his crew were able to remove the tile and the backerboard that was nailed in to the floor. Andy initially said that his plan was to entirely remove the stove pipe from the flat roof, but once he really looked at it, he decided that it should likely just be capped because the seal was very good. They also sealed up 18 (I think he said 18) seams in the roof. The additional outlet, which was done by an outside electrical contractor, is fine. The ceiling, where the chimney went through the roof looks absolutely amazing!! You cannot tell that a chimney was ever there. There are no visible seams, puckers, or anything, and the paint appears to match exactly. I could not be happier with how every aspect of the project turned out. I am also going to have he and his crew do a few jobs at my old house before I put it on the market. I would gladly recommend Andy to anyone. It was also nice that he was happy to undertake a job that was slightly smaller in scale, but was still quite important to me.
Description of Work: I needed a tile area underneath a wood stove removed, the chimney through the ceiling removed and the ceiling repaired, the vent in the roof sealed up, and a few seams in the flat roof sealed. An outlet was also added in the kitchen so that the microwave did not need to be plugged in with an extension cord.

They've been terrific. They are very easy to work with, are conscientious, made helpful suggestions on what we could do, and all around did a great job.
Description of Work: They did some work on our patio, painting, sheet rocking, fixed handles for doors, and other general remodeling and handyman work.
Andy came out to do an estimate for us on a large basement remodel which includes framing, electrical, extensive plumbing and more. He was very knowledgeable, respectful, and clearly professional. He was thorough and informative as we went through the job specs. He drew up a floor plan with measurements right away. So we knew the bid was going to be accurate and thorough. We like that he's flexible and willing to work with us in what ever way we decide to break the job down. He shared some good recommendations and ideas in terms of how to do certain details like closets and plumbing. The estimate he gave us is a decent and fair price. We also like that Andy will take on relatively "smaller" jobs (it's big to us) as a General contractor. A lot of them won't. We are waiting to follow through with the job until fall but we are very seriously considering Andy as our GC.
Description of Work: we have not had any services other than a bid.
Great! Andy is a little young, but definitely knows what he's doing. I will also be having him install crown molding and convert my fireplace to an electric fireplace in the near future (unfortunately I can't do everything I want to at once, but he's given me very reasonable estimates so as soon as my appliances stop breaking down I plan to hire him). He's always very willing to do tiny projects and has very reasonable rates. He quotes by the project (as opposed to hourly) so it's easy to know how much you'll be spending. He generally comes by in the evening because a) I'm home and b) it doesn't interfere with his other (bigger) projects. I am hiring him again (he's actually coming out sometime this week to do another couple of projects) and like I said I plan to hire him for bigger ones as soon as I can afford it!
Description of Work: Andy has done a ton of handyman stuff around my house. I bought it in April and there were a million little projects - let's see if I can remember all of them: he removed these 1/2 inch thick trim pieces from my stairs and replaced with metal pieces that lay flat (I can now walk comfortably on the stairs!); he fixed a faucet, installed a new kitchen faucet, helped me figure out some of my wiring, cleaned my chandelier that's a pain to get to, cut and installed a hand rail to my basement, installed a key pad so I can open my garage door from the outside w/o an opener, installed a holder for a flag. I'm sure I'm missing something because I generally think of a few projects every time he comes over!
