Minnesota Locks

Had a slight mix-up on the appointment time, but otherwise Jake, who was sent to us, did a very professional job on both the deadbolt and door handle locks as per our request. We are quite happy with the result. We would hire Minnesota Locks again the next time we need a locksmith.

Went pretty well. He was able to fix it temporarily and said I probably need a new file cabinet.

They were great. My call for help was answered with same day service. I was given an approximate quote for the cost of the service and could pick a specific time for service or a window of time. It took an hour to fix it all and the cost was right in line with the quote. They were courtesy, friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely use them again.

Minnesota Locks was very responsive to an installation request that was complicated by three units being involved (i.e. 3 different unit decision-makers who all wanted a lot of information before making a final determination, resulting in necessity for a lot of back-and-forth communication with the company). Thank you, Josh! And Jacob, who installed everything, is a gem. Our doors all had problems (related to the placement of our original locks and the extra 'pressure' that the door-closing mechanism puts on the door) and that required a lot of drilling, chiseling and adjusting. Jacob was very diligent, persistent and perfectionistic about making sure that everything worked absolutely right when he was done (including the extra attention required - because of the pressure that the door-closing mechanism exerts - to make the keys turn as smoothly as possible). He really went 'above and beyond'. And, for example, he re-keyed the new Schlage lock itself so that the homeowners' current keys would work in the new lock, thus not requiring them to get new keys. He's a true professional (and a really nice guy). I consider the cost of all this to have been VERY reasonable, given the quality of their service and how labor-intensive the process was (and Minnesota Locks did not charge anything above the original estimate, despite all the complications that arose).

Scheduling a re-key of my locks a day ahead of time was easy. All of my locks were changed quickly and he went above and beyond and put longer screws into my deadbolt plates so they would reach the studs. I appreciated that he was concerned with the security of my house. He made sure everything was done well and all of the new keys work wonderfully. He showed up late but the office was helpful when I called to enquire when he would be there. I would use them again.

I purchased the $99 re-key special, which included up to 4 locks on 2 doors. I spoke with Donna at the office several times. We had a unique situation in that, we wanted someone to come out after we closed on our house to re-key all of the locks, but we had no way of knowing what time we would be done with the closing. She put us on the schedule as a tentative appointment for the evening of our closing. I called the office after we left our closing appointment and was told the tech was probably 30-45 minutes out, which worked great as we were on our way to the new house. About 45 minutes later, the tech called and said he was having an issue at his previous job and, did we want to reschedule for the next day? We couldn't do that as we were leaving town the next day and needed the locks keyed before then. We asked him to still come out that night when he was done with his previous job, and agreed he would give us a call when he was leaving that job. About 20 minutes later, he called to say he was on his way. He arrived about 25 minutes after that and got to work. The tech (Josh was his name I think) was pleasant and knowledgeable. We had received 7 different keys for the different doors and locks in the house and, Josh did exactly what we wanted - he re-keyed all of the locks in the house to a single key. We understood the delay in his arrival, things happen. And the service we wanted was performed as directed and we feel that we got a fair deal.

I called the locksmith who agreed to come within the next couple of hours after the call. He did come as promised. He struggled a little with installing the Touchscreen Deadbolt, but resolved the issue rather quickly after following my suggestion to call the help number on the box. He changed the keys rather quickly on the other two locks. He did not charge more for the extra time he spent struggling with the Touchscreen Deadbolt. In short, he came when promised. did what was needed even if it took much longer than expected, and charged what appears to me to be a fair fee.

Excellent service. Our house was broken into in the middle of the night when we were sleeping. Very scary. Not only were lots of our possessions taken, they took ALL of our keys for our home and cars. Minnesota Locks came out first thing that next morning just hours after break-in to take care of us. They were also able to make replacement keys for our cars saving us an inconvenient trip out to the dealership. They were able to provide some piece of mind during a really upsetting time and even came back out later that day to fix something that wasn't quite right.
