Shawn's bid was the lowest. Normally, I would never take the low bid. Before signing, I even called to make sure they used the same type of concrete as the other contractors. I also made a couple changes to the bid over the phone. He called the night before the day I was scheduled to let me know the exact time he and crew would be showing up. The were on time. They got all the tear-down complete, and the new concrete poured and finished by the end of the day. When they came the next day to remove the forms, they cleaned up unwanted sod, cleaned up the gaps between the sidewalk and sod with black dirt; and even seeded the area. If I ever have another concrete need, I will call Letendre and skip the other bids.

They were very responsive and let me know when they were going to be a little late. They provided a very thorough bid with all the specs clearly noted. I'm sure they would have done a very nice job but we went with a different bid.

This is probably one of the best experiences I have ever had when dealing with a contractor. I called on a Tuesday in regard to removing and replacing the the steps at my front door and a single sidewalk slab in front of it. Shawn showed up that day and gave me an estimate and also advice on some concerns I had with the sidewalk. I felt good with Shawn's demeanor and estimate and signed the contract right away. I was extremely pleased when Shawn and his crew showed up two days later and finished the job on the same day. The stairs looked great and better than I expected. The sidewalk blended great with the rest of the sidewalk. Based on my experience with Shawn and his professional crew I would definitely hire him again for other jobs.

I received three bids from different contractors for this project in May of 2013. One was WAY out of my price range, the other two were relatively close in price. I chose Letendre because I really liked the way Shawn went over the process for the project. He explained everything thoroughly, gave great options, answered all my questions, plus had some great reviews here on Angie's List. I had already torn down an old deck in the location of the new patio before choosing a contractor. Shawn was very straight forward with the fact that they were scheduled out until mid to late summer. It was definitely worth the wait. The project went very smoothly. Shawn and his crew were punctual and professional. They were here when they said they would be and were incredibly efficient in their work. The entire project was finished in three days and it looks beautiful! It rained pretty hard the night after the grading was done, and I could see in the morning that the water had flowed right to where we had discussed. This was one of my biggest concerns with the project and it was done perfectly. Overall, a FANTASTIC experience from beginning to end and I could not be happier with the finished product!

It .went amazingly well and more quickly than I expected. Shawn and his crew of five arrived just before 7:00 a.m. and had the old concrete removed and hauled away by mid-morning. The bid was detailed, and included all that was to be done. The whole crew was patient as I asked questions at every step of the process (I'm a "This Old House" fan and like to know how it's all done!), and took many pictures. By the end of day one, the driveway and steps were poured, leveled, smoothed, etc., and the framing was removed. Shawn and Mike arrived at 6:30 the next morning, poured the sidewalk, and cleaned up all the miscellaneous, even going so far as to use a blower to clean up the lawn and sweep up the debris from the street. Included in the process was black dirt and seeding when the driveway was done, and extra black dirt for me to use when the sidewalk had hardened. I was very impressed with the whole team. They took minimum breaks and worked steadily throughout the process. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I am very happy with the completed job, and have had many compliments on the appearance of my new steps, sidewalk and driveway.

Shaun answered all my questions at the initial meeting. His professional manner was very reassuring. The job went perfectly. The removal of old concrete, railroad ties, and driveway took ten hours on the first day. The crew was very professional and worked hard despite extreme heat. The problem area in front of the garage and behind the house needed sloping to allow rainwater to drain away from the garage (before rain would enter the garage). It was a tricky area but turned out perfectly. I plan on having additional concrete work done next year and will not hesitate in calling Letendre Concrete & Design.

I was assured that I would receive an estimate within 48 hours. As of 5 days later, I have received nothing.

I inquired about having some work done Friday 6/21 through their website and I was called back within a few hours and an appointment was scheduled for Sunday. On Sunday Shawn showed up to give me an estimate. He was courteous and professional. He did not push to sell me anything and was interested in what I was trying to do. He gave some great advice and made a few insights. I was not familiar with how to pour concrete whatsoever. I made a down payment that day because I wanted the work done ASAP. Shawn?s assistant scheduled me on Thursday afternoon and had all the surfaces prepared and the concrete poured by 4pm. All work was done by Shawn and his helper Tom. I was impressed with their speed and efficiency. They were even able to fill my neighbors post holes with some left over concrete for a small price. They came back on Friday morning to clean everything up and haul off some remaining debris. Shawn and his team exceeded my expectations, because of how fast they were able to get the work done. In less than 1 week from when I inquired the work was complete. I also liked that the same person who gave me an estimate did the work. If I need concrete work done in the future I will not hesitate to use Shawn or recommend him to others.

Shaun was very responsive and knowledgable. I had a tricky connection to make between the new driveway and my uneven garage floor, which is in bad shape. I couldn't replace the garage floor at this time. His suggested solution worked beautifully. The driveway and front stairs/walk look great. I would definitely recommend this company to people needing concrete work.

Shawn did everything that we asked of him. We asked if he could haul out the old concrete by hand (rather than use a bobcat) and to wheel in the new concrete mix from the street. He agreed to that when he gave us the bid. And he said that we could call him any time with any questions or concerns that we may have. He stands behind his work.

Letendre showed up to discuss my project which was fairly small. i asked him to send a bid for the work and never heard from him again. dissapointing.

Shawn was very professional and easy to work with from the start. I called about 6 different companies for quotes. 2 companies returned my call with a standard price for stoop replacement that was more than double what Shawn charged, and they were not even willing to come and look at the project. 2 companies still have yet to call me back and 1 company called me back more than a week after we had decided to go with Letendre. Shawn came out and looked at the project within 2 days of me contacting Letendre and made sure I was home so he could discuss cost, etc. with me. He was straight forward and informed me had a ton of jobs on his plate already and gave me a timeframe he said he could complete the project in. He ended up getting the job done a week before the final date of his timeframe. It took Letendre less than a day to finish the entire project and I couldn't be happier with the final product. I will gladly give Letendre all of my future concrete business. Great company to work with!

Excellent Job! Shawn was very easy to work with and the quality was outstanding! He provided a detailed estimate and performed the work exactly as promised. All of the workers were professional and we are very happy with our new driveway.

This was not an easy job for Shawn, but he handled it all graciously with patience and fortitude. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times (or so the quote goes!). While the old well had been sealed prior to my purchase of the house many years ago, the concrete room that housed it still holds the main water intake for my house. I wasn't here when it happened, but apparently when it was removed, the old concrete stoop caught the top of the plumbing in the basement and thus broke the pipe, basically breaking the interior water main in my house. When I came home at lunch there was a plumbing truck in the road near my house. The plumber had just about finished fixing the water main, everything in my lower level that was in danger of getting wet had been moved out of the way, and most areas were already dry. Nothing was damaged, and everything was cleaned up. Shawn and his crew had responded very quickly and clearly hadn't wasted any time in getting it all under control. Once the plumbing was done, they set about reinforcing the roof area over the well room, and then covered it with an ice/water seal of some kind. They set the forms for the slab and steps, and poured the concrete. Shawn put down the antiquing powder and started stamping the slate pattern in it after it had set to the right degree. Within a couple of hours, cracks started developing in the concrete in the sunny spots, while the shady spots were still totally wet. Shawn said it was a "bad batch of mud", that the chemical reaction that normally happens was not taking place correctly. At that point, Shawn quit working on it, it was clear that it was going to be an issue to be covered with the concrete supplier. Shawn met with the supplier on site the next morning. The supplier's suggestion was that they would cover an additional 1" top coat over the existing cracked concrete. Shawn said that was not acceptable, and continued to work with the supplier to make it right. That meant that Shawn and his crew had to jackhammer out the original pour, set up new forms, and then re-pour the whole thing again. The second pour went exceedingly well. It turned out awesome, better than I had imagined. I cannot say enough good things about Shawn and his crew. Pretty much everything that could have gone wrong with this job, did. None of it was Shawn's fault, but he took full responsibility to stand behind his work, 100%, and he didn't quit until it was all done. His morals and ethics are beyond reproach, and it's clear that he takes great pride in his work. The majority of contractors can give you a good end result when everything goes right. Shawn went above and beyond to give me an excellent result, even when everything went wrong! I would highly, highly recommend Letendre Concrete to anyone.

Shawn came with his crew and stayed late to ensure the work is done well. Shawn is easily to work with and very professional.

Scott was the most reasonable of all the bids I got and was the only one who followed up after. I could not do the work in the fall but will in spring.

Shawn and his very seasoned crew do an excellent job. Work is top notch and pricing is very competitive. We're very pleased with the results. We're veteran remodelers; this is one of the best experiences we've had with a subcontractor. Shawn is very easy to work with and does excellent work at a very fair price. Letendre Concrete & Design comes with our highest recommendation. August 2013 update: We contacted Shawn in the spring after noticing that our new driveway did not fare well over the winter season. 6 separate pads cracked to varying degrees related to frost issues. Shawn and crew recently returned and removed and repoured all 6 pads. We are very pleased with the results and commend Letendre Concrete for fully standing behind their work. Maintaining this kind of superior service will result in more Super Service Awards to come. Keep up the good work!

We called three contractors to come and make estimates, and two responded. Neither contractor did we see in person for the bid. Shaun's bid was VERY professional with excellent details such that even to a DIY person such as myself (Angie's List and phone are my tools), could understand the work to be done. Both prices being equal, we selected Letendre. We called Shaun and agreed on a day and time. They said they would start around mid morning, and I would love to tell you how the job went blow by blow, but they were just too efficient. By the time I got home around noon or so, nobody was there! However, dirt and rock was removed and hauled away, the class 2 (I think) bedding and rebar was in place as were the forms for the slab AND stairs. More about that later. Shaun and his partner showed up shortly thereafter. He had another job in the area and was now awaiting the concrete truck! I sort of expected something more along the lines of a small do-it-yourself mixer and bags all over the place, but that's not how Letendre rolls. He is well connected and in short order the Cemstone truck pulled up. While waiting for the truck's arrival, Shaun went over a few things with me. Rather than work around the two block stairs, he choose to remove them and build a fresh stair. He explained to me about the code and how this would help stage for a driveway apron we discussed earlier and how it was just a better way all around. In fairness to Shaun, that decision was one he made as I was available by cell phone for consult, a phone which as usual, wasn't with me when he needed to tell me about this. He used great judgement and moved forward rather than delay the work, and I was more than OK with that. A great call, Coach Shaun! Then came the pouring and finish work. WOW! These guys really hustled, and it was hot that day. Shaun moved the mud in one wheelbarrow at a time while his partner finished. I actually felt bad that I couldn't really help them much, but I doubt I could have kept up with their pace anyway. I have not seen work ethics like this in more years than I care to admit. It came together nicely! Nice saw cuts to asphalt, joints against, the foundation and house, everything was just first class. While his partner did the final touches, Shaun cleaned up and hosed down the driveway and we talked some more. Of the two estimates I received, I just assumed his was the first one and the next guy saw it and put his "I can't compete with this" estimate in the door, but Shaun said no, his was actually second, so he met that $1200 bid to get the job. We then discussed how well the job went, and he said that the step thing that they did they really didn't cover in the bid and it was extra time and materials, but it was the right way to do it, and would an additional $100 be OK? Heck yes. I added another $200. I then asked him about warranty, and he explained a concept called "tail light" warranty, and I understand that! Seriously, he said they stand behind their work, and if something goes wrong for any reason, they make it right. I'll take his word for it as nothing has gone bad. Shaun will be back in the spring to do the driveway apron if not the entire driveway finances permitting of course. I will not be entertaining bids for those jobs as Shaun is now "our guy" when it comes to concrete work of any kind. I'm kind of a curmudgeon such that every silver lining has a dark cloud. I'm also the kind of person who is quick to praise, but when unhappy, goes silently away and does not use the good or service in question ever again. Tell you what. I can't think of one bad thing to say about Shaun, his company, his crew, his workmanship, his business savvy, and above all else, honesty. Second, Shaun is stuck with us as this is our forever home and we have projects aplenty down the road for Shaun and Letendre. I can honestly say if you need this kind of work on just about any scale, Letendre is one stop shopping. AAAA ++++

Shawn and his crew did a fantastic job and our front sidewalk looks beautiful. He was very timely and professional with the estimate and was responsive over email. He and his crew took very good care of our property and we appreciated that they even took the time to plant new grass seed and fill in areas with dirt as needed.

I called Shawn late Friday afternoon and by early evening he returned my call and scheduled a visit the following morning for an estimate. He arrived within minutes of the scheduled time, listened to my requirements and then quickly explained what he thought should be done. He provided enough details that I was comfortable that he understood what I wanted. We arrived at a price, he wrote up an estimate and we talked about a start date. After my fencing contractors finished their work I called Shawn to finalize the date and time for the project. We agreed upon a date and time for the project start. The crew arrived on time and started immediately. Shawn said the would be done by 2:20 and they were actually finished an hour early. I was very pleased with the attention to detail, the execution of the project and the price. I would use Shawn again for any concrete project.

Shawn not only does great work, he pays attention to details to do the job correctly. We orignially contacted Shawn to bid on replacing two sections of a sunken sidewalk as part of a project that would include an adjacent patio area made of stone. Shawn suggested we consider stamped concrete for the whole project which would be a more uniform layout. He pointed out many benefits and gave suggestions that allowed us to eliminate a step and set us up for replacing a sunken driveway in the future. We liked his complete assessment of the layout and he addressed all our design concerns. We were impressed when he completed the project in one day instead of the planned two just to insure the concrete would not get rained on. His crew of 3 did an excellent job with the stamped concrete and cleaned up the area when finished. We would definitely recomment Letendre. They do good work and are willing to do things customized. We enjoyed working with Shawn from start to finish.

I got 3 estimates in the spring and selected Letendre. We scheduled the work for July. They were able to do the work exactly as promised and even "through in" an extra section of the driveway at no extra charge. They removed the old concrete one day (in 3 or 4 hours) and then came back two days later to pour the new concrete. They finished that same day but came back later in the week to fill in with black dirt and grass seed where the grass had to be torn up. Overall, they were great to work with!

[Owner] Shawn LeTendre said that he could repair the concrete cap and make it look like new. That is, in fact, what he did. He removed the attempted repair and recoated the existing (original) concrete cap and it does look like a "new pour." I was trying to work within Shawn's schedule to save a little money. He had a large job very close to my house so when he came to my neighborhood for the large job, he shot over and did the repair. I wasn't home at the time but when he came back to receive his payment, we discussed if I could and should put dirt around the repair. Shawn went to his truck, where he had a load of dirt, placed dirt and seed in a wheelbarrow and neatly surrounded the cap with dirt and grass seed. Shawn went Above and Beyond what he got paid to do! Before he left, I asked Shawn to give quotes on my concrete garage floor repair and driveway/sidewalk replacement. He is more reasonable than any company that has priced this work to me and I'm sure he will do as good a job as those others.

They were able to complete the work from start to finish while we were away on vacation. This saved us a lot of inconvenience. The work looks great. Their proposal was better than two others that we received. They used more crushed rock beneath the driveway. They used better aggregate (granite) in the driveway and put in more steel than the other quotes we received. They removed the stone edging along our flow beds and replaced it. At least one of the other companies that gave us a quote indicated that they could not do that. The recommendation that they gave us for the brick and stone work along the front steps turned out great. We have had a number of compliments from neighbors.

Shawn Letendre, and crew, did a great job. They ran into a big issue when a random thunderstorm opened up on the new driveway just 20 minutes after they completed the job. I called Shawn and he was already headed back to see what the damage was. After he looked at it, he came to the door and said, "here's what we're going to do; we're going to remove it and start over from scratch. I mean he had to do the job over... as in completely remove the new driveway they installed and re-do the entire job. I didn't have to fight for this at all. He did the right thing without any prompting from me at all. The new, new driveway looks great! I plan to use Letendre in a year or two when we re-do our walkways. Great Experience!
