The expanded design is great! The shrubs, trees, and plants are healthy and seem to be established. Everything looks really nice! I want to add that the crew was very careful not to damage the lawn with their heavy equipment. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up. Northern Lights Landscaping completed all the work in about 3 and 1/2 days.

I was so happy with their work. I got five bids and was waiting to hear back from the other four before Steve, from Northern Lights, came out to give me a bid. Steve gave me a bid the same day he came to do an estimate. Their prices were very reasonable compared to the others bids I received. Steve, his son, and another worker did both jobs. They were professional, creative, and hard-working. They were respectful and made sure to clean up after themselves. I would absolutely use them again in the future and I'd recommend them highly to my friends and neighbors.

We were extremely pleased not only with the results of the retaining wall but also with the pride and professionalism that Steve and his crew displayed.

Steve was on time for our original meeting and came to do the work when he said he was going to come. He gave us an estimate very quickly. He gave us good advice about what type of product would work best for our project. Most importantly, the final project looked nice when they finished.

Very good. We have not signed on to start the work, but when we do plan on it, will use Northern Lights. The thoughtfulness in the design was great. We have a large hill going to a lake. Lots of buckthorn and weeds need to be removed, steps and retaining wall need to be re-done, and flower beds repaired. It will be a big job when we can do it and I am confident NL will be able to deliver.

I have nothing but the best to say about this group of guys. They worked during what had to be the hottest week of the summer yet. They accomplished the projects in three days. My yard was, in my opinion, going to my dog (Max). It had gone so far down hill especially during the 6 months Max was on potent steroids and other meds- the grass was just shot. I wanted a yard that my dog and I could both enjoy. Steve came through with the design and then with working with his crew to make it happen. It looks amazing - very 'park-like'. In fact I have plans with items to add to the areas to increase that feel. Thanks guys! Hope it gets cooler for you!:)

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They did a great job. The guy came out, worked around, the owner came, he was very nice and very helpful, talked about the whole project and got a plan back to me and it was what I was looking for. He was very knowledgeable, he owns his own business so he took interest in sharing some thoughts and ideas. It was a landscaping design for a 30-year old house where everything has kind of outgrown and he was very helpful in proposing a couple of changes and ideas, some of it to be a little bit more cost effective so I really like that I'm not pulling the trigger right now but probably within either by the fall or next year, I'll probably do something. I would be very comfortable recommending him to anybody. He was thoughtful, courteous, he was on time, everything that you're looking for when somebody comes out, he fulfilled. I like the design, I like the way he conducted himself, he's got some helpful ideas in making a few changes here and there so everything worked out just fine. I think the price is competitive. I thought the design of the proposal was very good, I like it, it was for those interested in changing and doing so I'm totally really satisfied. He called, I went in and got it, I placed the call, he followed up, we had communication, he was there on time, he called when he was en route, and he did a great job.

We set up our meeting for 6p.m. and Steve called 15 minutes before saying that he would be here closer to 6:15pm. (This is something I appreciate so much in a provider). He arrived at 6:15 and exceeded my expectations (see above). This was an Angie's List Deal ($99.00 Landscape Assessment/analysis with Design Proposal and Conceptual Plan)and my experience in the past with a couple of the and quot;dealsand quot; has been that the 'coupon' keeps the providers so busy that the quality of the product is far less than even just average (and I'm not that hard to please:)). That certainly wasn't the case with this company. It's a family operated business and I couldn't be happier with the results. I received the proposals and sketch in the mail a little over a week after his yard/landscape assessment- which considering the time and thought that must have gone into the sketch is really great! The proposals seem very reasonable, however money constraints will keep me from doing all of them right now. I will have him do one of the projects now, however, and given my experience so far, I anticipate continued quality with this company.

Steve and his crew arrived to the worksite as scheduled. The project lasted 4 days. The 3-man crew (including Steve) worked throughout the day every day in an orderly and systematic fashion to complete the project. One of the purposes of constructing the patio was to enable outdoor cooking without risk of fire on the existing wooden deck. After the patio pavers and joint sand had cured, the crew assisted in moving a 1/2-ton BBQ smoker from the deck to the new patio. I would describe this service as above and beyond what was contracted. Additionally, the area where the patio was installed is not accessible by large machines. The crew had to transport boulders, base material, pavers, and gravel by wheelbarrow from the staging area. Additionally, debris was removed the same way. There was no damage to any structure or other plantings in the adjacent areas.

Major landscaping work is noisy and disruptive. There is machinery, piles of dirt and other materials, a crew of people and vehicles. In this case, it was entirely worth the effort. Mr. Nelson reviewed a landscape architect's plan with me and provided a detailed proposal to accomplish the desired results. Once the old materials were removed, the new walkway and boulder features were installed. During this process, the crew were very careful to avoid collateral damage to existing trees. New trees (4) were planted, existing ground cover was thinned and new mulch was placed. Finally, raking and new grass seed sown. The schedule was maintained and the job was finished on time. I am entirely pleased with the results, and I appreciate Mr. Nelson's attention to obtaining high quality materials and plants. The new walkway was, I believe, properly installed with a base material and small gravel in between the stones to prevent shifting.
