GENE'S DISPOSAL SERVICE

Terrible office service. Obstinate people. If you have a choice, don't choose Gene's. I made 10+ phone calls over a four month period to sort out billing issues. They never called me back after my first voice message to correct my bill (prior to service beginning). I asked them to call me if they needed anything. The next month I got a late notice and late fee. They refused to believe me when I said I called and left a message and did not subscribe to an extra service. The City of St Paul sent Gene's notices to call me but they didn't call. I received an incorrect bill for the following quarter with an extra service charge. They refused to believe the charge was invalid and would not take off the extra charge. They sent another bill, not taking off the extra charge, and that bill was not the right invoice template. I called multiple times during business hours and got no answer. Finally, today, over four months later, I gave up. They answered their phone. I paid all the extra charges and fees. I have no choice because they are my hauler through the City of St. Paul, but if you have a choice, beware! They will defend themselves to the end, and you will lose!

Timely service, no hassle exchange of receptacle size from what the previous owner was using.

They never called back or replied to my emails. No one answered at their phone number and I was forced to leave multiple voice mails -- NO RESPONSE!!! Very frustrating. Simply horrible customer service if any. AVOID!!!

Garbage pick-up service was fine. I went to cancel my account in late 2010. It was mid-way between cycles and I had already pre-paid for the current three month cycle. The office person told me in lieu of refund, I should keep the remainder as a credit on my account and call them when I needed extra pickups until the credit was gone. The credit would be good forever. The office person was very aggressive about not giving me a refund and offering the credit instead. Recently, I called to check on the credit on the account. The office person told me that the credit did not exist and that I had ran out my entire cycle. This was not true, since they stopped garbage pickup immediately for me. I understand it has been a long time since I have used their services, but I do feel lied to in regards to the fact I was told I was going to have credit on my account for all of the unused service that I had already paid for and they simply ran the cycle out on their computer system instead.

The dispatcher was very friendly. She called the truck while I was on the phone and confirmed they would come back. I was surprised the truck got here so quickly. Thanks Gene's Disposal!

Ongoing...so far, so good! When we have had issues, they were readily resolved. Not complaints!

Great overall serviceThe only thing I'm wondering about it curbside compostable items so will check more into this. I would love to know that it is not all going into a landfill.

It went great. They showed up on time, put wood down on the driveway so there was no damage, reminded us to call in a week for pickup. It was only $20 more for an additional week. They came the very next day after we called to pick up the dumpster.

I'm very pleased with their service.

Everything went smoothly. The dumpster was delivered on time, which was critical since we needed to take time off of work to do the clean-up before my parents returned home (this was a stealth clean-up project). We then arranged to have the dumpster picked up very early the following morning. Timing for the pick-up was critical, since the dumpster needed to be removed before my parents returned home. Gene's re-arranged a few things and removed the full dumpster ahead of schedule. in the end, all was great! A clean house, permanent removal of unwanted trash, and happy parents!

I was very happy with what I was told when I called. I thought they were very nice on the phone. They answered the phone promptly and they did not try to lock me in on a contract. They would have been able to start the service immediately. I signed up but called to cancel a few days later when I found an alternate resource where you can dump your garbage legally for free.

I'VE USED GENE'S FOR YEARS AND THEY ALWAYS SHOW UP AS SCHEDULED. GARBAGE IS ALWAYS PICKED UP ON THE CORRECT DAY AND THERE'S NO JUNK LAYING AROUND ON THE STREET AFTERWARD.

GENE'S DISPOSAL SERVICE IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW (THE ONLY ONE?) THAT PLACES ALL TRASH COLLECTIONS -- 100 PERCENT -- AT THE NSP/NEWPORT FACILITY. THIS IS NOT A LANDFILL. IT IS A SITE THAT RECYCLES TRASH. THIS IS A FAMILY RUN BUSINESS AND WAS STARTED BY A MAN (NOW DECEASED) WHO DID SIGNIFICANT LOBBYING TO HAVE THE NEWPORT FACILITY CREATED. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THE ENVIRONMENT, THIS IS A GREAT COMPANY TO SUPPORT. THEIR PRICES ARE SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN SOME OF THE LARGE GARBAGE COLLECTIONS MEGA-COMPANIES, BUT THE SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT ARE WORTH IT.
