Tonka Seamless Gutters Inc

We had Tonka Seamless Gutters install gutters on our 1922 house several years ago. We were pleased with their service. I called them again when I decided to have leafguard installed on a gutter that didn't have it. I also asked for a bid to look at our porch roof, for heat coils to prevent ice dams this winter. We also asked them to install some soffet material. The guy who showed up to do the bid said he wasn't a "roof guy" so he couldn't comment on that. He was in our back yard for a couple of minutes, wrote something up, and left. He was nice but seemed in a huge hurry. I scheduled the work for a couple of weeks later and a crew arrived. They did not have the materials for the soffet. They said they would have to come back another day. When they got on the roof to clean the gutter and put leaf guard on it, my husband heard one of the workers say, "This is the sh*ttiest gutter placement I've ever seen." This was disconcerting since Tonka installed the gutters in the first place, and I wonder if their placement prevents snow from sliding off the porch roof in the winter, thus causing ice dams. When I paid the bill I wrote a note informing the company of what the worker said. I expected that they would follow up and just say, "We can assure you that the work done on your house meets our highest standards," or something... I heard nothing. I won't call them again.

They were time, very professional and did a great job for a reasonable price. would highly recommend them

Everything was great!!! When the 2 men showed up here on Monday they again were on time. They did a fantastic job installing our new gutters. My husband loves to watch when things are being done to our home and he stayed outside with them the whole time. He was having a great chat with the gentlemen. They were prompt, polite and did a great job. It took less then 2 hours from start to finish. We would definetely refer this company to others looking for a great job well done with reasonable prices.

They conducted the estimate within one week of me contacting them and the work was completed two weeks later. The bid was specific and detailed so when we had a question about what they had done we could refer to it. We are very pleased with their work.

Came when they said they would and did what they were supposed to do. No muss, no fuss.

They were very prompt in responding. They're quote was the cheapest out of the four we received.

They responded quickly to my request for an estimate. A representative was there Friday morning on time and took measurements. I received the quote immediately. Once I accepted their bid they called me and scheduled installation for Wednesday. It was a very quick and effecient process. I was called out of town for a family emergency and left them a message and they said they would just leave the bill and that I did not need to be there for the installation. Overall it was a great experiece working with Tonka Seamless Gutters. I would recommend them to anyone.

The company was very responsive and we're pleased with the result. We would definitely have them do work for us again.

Very well, they dekivered what we agreed on time

From the start, the estimator didn't seem interested in the job. Didn't take notes or ask questions. Did a brief walkaround and said he didn't know how they would install with the aluminum fascia wrap on the house. It was a very strange experience because my initial contacts with the company were very positive and I was impressed by how professional and responsive the front office was. I was confident we were going to get a competitive quote, based on the feedback I saw on Angie's List and ended up disappointed and a little irritated by the experience.

I e-mailed this company via Angie's List twice to get an estimate, once a month ago and again a few days ago, and they don't respond. Yes, I could call, but I prefer e-mail. If you're not going to respond to e-mails, then don't allow that as an option. If you do respond to e-mails but are too busy to, then simply send a message that you're either too busy or not interested. Either way, just respond!

Overall the process was painless. Joe sent someone out for estimate within a couple of days of calling and I found them extremely comparable to others I had sought. Communication was good and I knew exactly when they were going to show up and perform the work. They performed the work one day later than originally scheduled due to the record 103 degree temps the day before. But Joe called to let me know. The work looks great.

We are very happy with the final product, it looks good and meets the expectation that we had for our project. Our disappointment came in the scheduling and installation of our project. When I called and scheduled the work, I was given the option of Thursday or Friday of the next week, I selected Thursday and was told that the crew would be out around 8:30 that morning. When that Thursday arrived at 9:45 am (still no installers) my wife called and was told, "go about your day, they will be there and I don't know anything about an 8:30 time" Later that afternoon I called the office again, to inform them that their crew was still not at the house. After a pause, I was told they needed to check and see where the crew was. I did receive a phone back from Joe and the crew lead that was to be working at my house. They had a project run long and due to the winds that day were having difficulty finishing that project. (understandable) I was told that they would be there either Friday or maybe early the next week. I requested Friday and was very specific, they did arrive on Friday and completed the work as outlined in the estimate and met our expectations for the project. It was very disappointing and frustrating to expect the crew on a certain day and time, have them miss that expectation and receive no contact saying they would be late, until we had to call and ask.

Joe O'Connor, the President of the company, responded quickly to my inquiry and came out promptly to give me a quote for some minor gutter repair work. He gave me a quote immediately in a range of $350 to $450 depending upon how extensive the repairs ended up being. They did the work within a few days and billed me for the $350. I am very pleased with all aspects of the job. Well Done. Mike McMahon

I called on a Thursday, Joe came out and did the estimate on my schedule on the following Saturday. He game me a price and walked the exterior of the house and pointed out a couple of places where the gutters needed reenforcing. The installers came out the following Monday, completed the work in front and reenforced the other areas at no additional charge.

They changed two undersized gutters/downspouts and added an elbow to help the gutter perform better. They were super responsive in all regards; estimate and work were done within the week. Very professional, did a great job and I highly recommend them.

There were two long runs of gutter; one run in the front and another at the back, so the one at the back tilted the wrong way; it tilted back towards a cut out that we had. I had to explain this problem to them that the run was going backwards in the west gutter and kind of literally flowing the wrong way rather than flowing to the end of the run. I had them replace the gutter for me but even after they replaced it, the water was flowing in the wrong direction because it was tilted back and the run was still towards the house. We had to explain them that it was not working because it was still tilted back towards the house, so they came over once again to set it up and extremely tilted it to the correct direction. When you had to look at it at any distance from the house, it seemed as though it was falling off. The first hanging was incorrect and unprofessional; so was the second hanging too. When we complained about it the second time, they treated us like dirt. The guy who was in charge was always complaining and wouldn't take any responsibility in trying to shift things back on form and who was actually doing the work. It took him an arm and a leg to get him back here to hang it properly. Every time I went out there to take a look at it, it just looked sick. It was tilted the right way finally but he did not take any initiative himself to do the job properly. When things were clearly long, they acted as if we were fighting, winding and being tremendously unreasonable. It was just a $500 job they should have come over and should have got the job done properly which was unlike the situation here. It was nearly failing but we finally did get the work done and it looks okay but they were very horrible. I felt the price was just fine but the quality of work and the installation were the problems they had. They were not responsive because of the fact that they did not take ownership of things that they were supposed to. The customer service was very bad but they were here when they said they would be. They were not all that professional so I would not recommend or use them in the future.

They did a good job on both aspects of project. The miters they replace are working great. The under deck gutters have one small leak that needs to be repaired this spring. The team was friendly, professional and efficient. They were flexible enough to deal with a power outage during the install and use generator power from a nearby city maintenance truck.

We spent $1500 on that work. It was everything we expected. The gutters themselves are white and we have like a brick house with 5 colors and the down spouts were brown and matched the house. It was nice because it was color coordinated because the soffits themselves we put in were white that matched the gutters. The down spouts are not the normal smaller size, but the larger size downspouts o they could handle the water. They were punctual and they did the work in a quick manner and they are holding up fine. In fact we had an old tree in our front yard and one of the branches were hanging over towards the gutters and I think we gave the something and they cut the tree limb for us. It made his job easier and the branch was getting too close to the roof anyway. It was a good experience.

Using Tonka Gutter was an excellent experiece. In the 20 years we've lived here the gutters had been replaced twice and repaired once by other gutter people. There was always a major problem of water rushing over the corner on the gutter ruining the grass and more recently running into the basement. Scott came over and surveyed the situation. Scott told me what the problem all these years had been. The roof over the porch was sagging.slightly. It needed to be supported by a post like the other houses on the block. Dummy me never even noticed there was no post. He also said the downspout was to small. Scott said there was nothing he could do until I had the roof fixed. I had a builder put in the support post and lo and behold there was already a footing there. The builder of the house never finished erecting the support. Needless to say Tonka gutter came when the roof was fixed and within 45 minutes had the new gutter and down spout up and moving water. These guys were great!

I actually planned on spending thousands of dollars on "gutter helmets" since our house didn't have any and I was concerned about leaves. Tonka's estimator came out and told me I didn't need them! It was great to find a company that wasn't just out to increase the amount of work they do on the project. The estimator even fixed a problem downspout for me for free while making the bid. Since the project was much smaller than I originally anticipated, I canceled my other bids and went with Tonka. Their crew arrived on time and did a great job.

They were extemely responsive and out here the day after my initial call to give me an estimate. They didn't have to have someone home to finish work. They completed the work and sent me a statement. They are very professional, responsive and I would highly reccommend them.

Joe (the boss) called within a few hours of my leaving a voice message and set up an appointment. He called back later to move the appointment 1/2 hour. (pretty nice instead of just turning up late). He did the measurements and wrote up a quote in a rainstorm. Was super professional and explained the project in detail - also in the rainstorm. I accepted the price on the spot and he provided a work date that was about 10 days out. The guys showed up on the appointed day with a large clean truck loaded with the right gear. They worked quickly and were clearly very experienced. Took time to answer all my questions. They finished up, cleaned up perfectly and left the bill at the front door - per the quotation. The job is truly excellent although I need a good shower to check for any leaks. I had been thinking about doing the job myself, but when I look at the result I'm glad I used these guys. Would use them again in a heartbeat.
